With all this, despite the clear emphasis of the exterior towards sportiness, the crossover’s ground clearance is quite an impressive 214 millimeters. Therefore on light off-road he certainly won't save.

Luxurious in terms of finishing materials, well assembled and ergonomic. However, its design may seem conservative and outdated to many.

This is especially noticeable in dashboard. It has a beautiful bluish backlight of the indicators, but the display on-board computer lacks high-quality animation and is not very informative.

The large monitor of the multimedia and entertainment complex does not have touch controls - all commands go through the block keys. On the one hand, it is convenient, on the other hand, it is archaic. The climate control is also controlled through buttons, and finally, analog chronometers are installed on the console - obviously as a tribute to traditions, from which the Japanese stubbornly refuse to deviate.

The driver's seat with powerful lateral support bolsters has a calibrated profile and multiple adjustments. It will fit any driver’s build and will securely hold it in place during overloads.

As for the rear sofa, its width can accommodate up to three people, but there is little room in the legs and head even with a height of 180 centimeters, so only the tallest people will be at ease.

The interior of the BMW X5 is, without a doubt, more modern and modeled in a somewhat youthful style. At the same time, it is very cozy and has a background LED backlight, calm color scheme neutral tones.

The virtual “toolkit” fascinates with colorful readings with very high level animation elaboration, excessive information content. At the same time, it is easy to read and does not glare even on a very sunny day.

Multimedia has voice, analog (using a joystick on the tunnel), touch control. In addition, you can give commands to the system using gestures. However, doing this is not very convenient even while standing still, because the iDrive interface is too complicated.

The driver can sit comfortably in his seat and will certainly praise the seating geometry, wide ranges settings. But during active driving, there is no longer such tenacity as the Infinity seat. The rear gallery is optimal for accommodating two people up to 190 centimeters tall, but a third person may complain about tightness in the shoulders.

On the move

The Infiniti QX70 hides a high-revving naturally aspirated 3.7-liter engine under the hood. Its power is 333 horsepower is implemented on all four wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission.

The dynamics of the Bavarian crossover are noticeably better compared to the Japanese one. The supercharged power unit also has excellent traction throughout the entire rev range, but here it manifests itself brighter and more unbridled, which, coupled with the transmission’s closely spaced gears, allows it to quickly pick up speed.

The car is driven very enthusiastically and the point here is not only in the very sharp steering, the absence of rolls and sway, but also in the neutral steering in turns - the X5, even at the limit, maintains understandable behavior and allows you to fully control the situation, avoiding dangerous situations.

At the same time, the suspension provides a minimum of shaking on small and medium-sized bumps, providing the ability to confidently rush along imperfect road surfaces.

The following variations are available for the Infiniti QX70: Premium + NAVI, Sport + NAVI, Hi-tech Black quartz. The initial cost of a crossover with a 3.7-liter engine is 3 million 70 thousand rubles.

When choosing a powerful and fast crossover for active driving, many people first of all set their sights on the BMW X5. But don’t think that there is no worthy alternative. The Infiniti FX is a serious and very strong competitor.

The rivalry between these models can be compared to a fight between two boxers: the first fighter is already aged, but very experienced, the second is young, healthy and self-confident. It is difficult to predict the outcome of their battle... So the BMW X5, with its classic and carefully calibrated design, looks less advantageous against the backdrop of the emphatically aggressive and predatory Infiniti FX. The latter is more reminiscent of a sports coupe, raised high above the ground on huge wheels, than an SUV or crossover. With its entire appearance, the FX makes you doubt whether the X5 is really better, faster and more powerful.

In addition, on V-shaped engines, problems occurred with the generator, which is mounted in the cylinder block and cooled with antifreeze. Physically aging o-rings lose their tightness, so every time you service the “middle-aged” X5, you need to inspect the installation site of the generator.

All-wheel drive is different for these models. Which one is more reliable?

Both cars are very similar in character - their suspensions are rigid and short-travel, steering- sharp, brakes - powerful. Thanks to such settings, they give owners true pleasure from dynamic driving.

At the same time, when buying a used car, it is much more important to know the life of the chassis. The best in this regard is FX. For example, its front aluminum levers can withstand a mileage of 120-150 thousand km, while the rear ones last much longer - mechanics only had to change them in case of accidents. X5 has silent blocks of levers and ball joints can last 40-80 thousand km, and rear suspension arms - about 100 thousand km. At the same time, both suspensions on the FX are more expensive to maintain - all the “consumables” are changed along with the levers, but in the front suspension of the “X-5” the “consumables” can be replaced separately. At some service stations they can also change the “rubber bands” of the lower arm of the rear suspension separately.
