Comparison of Nissan Patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser. Comparative test Nissan Patrol, Toyota Land Cruiser - "Battle of the Titans" Comparison of technical characteristics

It may seem that SUVs Nissan Patrol and Toyota Cruiser are identical to each other. This is wrong. Each crossover has its own characteristics. Let's figure out which is better, Patrol or Kruzak.

Features Nissan Patrol

The Japanese Patrol belongs to the sixth generation of Nissan SUVs. In the Japanese domestic market, it is produced under the name "Safari". For the first time, the public saw the car in 2010 at the international automobile exhibition in the UAE. External design and functionality immediately appealed to the public. After that, the crossover began to spread around the world.

The car attracts attention with its power, high ground clearance, which allows you to overcome difficult sections of the road. Good cross-country ability is complemented by comfortable driving.

Nissan Patrol was created in order to become an alternative to the popular Toyota models Land cruiser 200. The changes affected the ground clearance, wheelbase. The appearance has also changed - the overall dimensions have become larger, but fuel consumption is less than that of the LC. It is related to the volume fuel tank.

What makes Toyota different

Toyota Land Cruiser is not inferior to its competitor. The country of origin is Japan, which indicates the quality of the car. The famous Toyota 200 was released in 2007. Release expected in 2020 new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 series with improved exterior and technical part.

LC belongs to the category of SUVs that overcome any obstacles. Engine displacement surpasses the Nissan Patrol (5663 cc), but is inferior in power and maximum torque. The volume of the fuel tank is smaller, but the trunk has become larger. The dimensions of the SUV have decreased.

The interior features seats and controls for interior devices, but some monitors and other handy details are missing.

Cross-country ability of SUVs

Crossovers must have good cross-country ability to overcome obstacles. Nissan Patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser cope with uneven road surface, sand. They automatically adjust to changes in surface coverage on which they drive. We should not forget about the differences in the technical component.

The Patrol crossover has a more powerful power unit, greater ride height, maximum torque and engine power. The increased wheelbase helps to overcome obstacles more easily. The car requires more fuel, which can cause some problems along the way.

Both cars can not cope with viscous mud and soil, they can get stuck.

Toyota is inferior to Nissan, but this does not prevent it from passing difficult obstacles.

Interior Features

The interior of the car is responsible for the comfort of the driver and passengers. This is important for long trips in an SUV. Crossovers are often used for trips to nature and other cities. They have a spacious interior that can accommodate passengers and things, but the TLK has a more compact one. Both cars are designed for 8 seats.

The interior uses high-quality materials - leather, soft plastic and metal elements. The interior is similar to Infiniti models. LC has it easier.

There are some differences. The Nissan Patrol seats on the rear side of the driver are higher than the Toyota Land Cruiser seats, but more comfortable in a different car model. This is due to the bulging backs of the Patrol seats. But he has more legroom and the interior is suitable for tall passengers. The Land Cruiser has a lower roof, with the door panel closer to the passengers.

The Patrol's third row seats can be easily folded down. They do not occupy the trunk area, which is practical and convenient. In Kruzak, the situation is different with the rear seats. They can be moved to the side walls. Because of this, the trunk immediately decreases in size. In an SUV, when folding the seats, the floor is smoother than that of the Patrol. In addition, when transporting overall items, you can easily place them in the trunk. The LC features a hinged door and a drop-down bottom compartment.

Both models of cars have a refrigerator located between the front seats.

Nissan Patrol has an advantage - a cooling equipment cover that opens in several directions at once. Passengers from rear seats can use the refrigerator.

In order not to be hot, Kruzak has seat ventilation in the front. In cold weather, the steering wheel is heated. Climate control in 4 zones inside the cabin will help you feel comfortable. Passengers in the rear seats can control it by changing the temperature and air flow.

Exterior

Both cars are large, like the entire crossover segment. If we compare the Japanese Patrol and Land Cruiser, it becomes clear that the first car is larger than its competitor:

  1. Body length - 5140 mm, the opponent's - 4950 mm.
  2. Wheelbase - 3075 mm, another car - 2850 mm.
  3. Because of this, the mass of SUVs differs. Heavier than Nissan - 2750 kg, Toyota is less - 2415 kg.

There are also differences in appearance. The Land Cruiser uses chrome in the body. Installed LED headlights. There is a light grille on the bumper. The body is more inclined (height 1950 mm) than the Nissan (1934 mm). He is almost vertical. Tires vary by car. Land Cruiser has 285/60 R18. Patrol - 275/60 R20.

Features of power units

Nissan and Toyota have petrol engines instead of diesel, but they differ in some characteristics. For fast and powerful driving, the first crossover is suitable. V engine with 8 cylinders. Power - 405 liters. With. Volume - 5.6 l. Due to this, it accelerates in 6 seconds.

Toyota has a slightly weaker powertrain. The engine is the same - V8. The engine power is less - 381 hp. With. Because of this, the car accelerates more slowly. The difference is 2 seconds.

Before buying a car, you need to know the characteristics of the transmission in order to understand the power. Cars have it automatic. There is a manual mode. There are some differences. The Patrol has a seven-speed power unit, and the Land Cruiser has a six-speed. But at Toyota is better brake system. Nissan shakes to the side when stopped.

Multifunctionality of the device system

When choosing a Patrol or Land Cruiser model, you need to consider device systems with a set of functions. They make driving easier for the driver. At Kruzak, the multifunctional system is located on different panels, which complicates management. At Nissan, it is concentrated in one place, which is much more convenient when using all the functions.

Patrol is equipped with a monitor that allows you to see obstacles outside the car. They are transmitted to the display from the cameras. Parking won't be difficult.

The developers of Land Cruiser, in turn, have improved the Crawl Control system, which allows the car to control the speed without change. Nissan Patrol is distinguished by the presence of displays on the backs of the seats. Developed cruise control helps to control the speed of the car on the road and the distance from other cars. This makes the driving process more reliable.

Comparison of specifications

When choosing an SUV from Patrol or Kruzak model 105 cars, you need to know the characteristics of the technical component of the car, which will make it easier to choose one of the presented cars.

At Comparison Patrol and Land Cruiser it turns out that both Japanese crossovers gasoline power units, but with different power. Engine type - V8, drive - 4WD. The wading depth determines whether the vehicle can pass the obstacle. The ford of a river is taken as an example, through which a car is able to pass. For SUVs, this is 70 cm. The front and rear brakes are of the disc type.

The difference lies elsewhere:

  1. Nissan surpasses Toyota in displacement. He has 5552 cm, while the competitor has 4608 cm.
  2. More engine output - 405, another car - 381.
  3. The maximum torque for Patrol is 560/4000, for LK it is 545/3600.
  4. The ride height is 274 mm, Toyota has only 225.
  5. Speed - 210, the other - 205.

Nissan consumes less fuel on the road - 14.5 l \ 100 km. The volume of the tank is 100 liters. Another Japanese has more consumption and a tank - 18.1 l / 100 km per 701 liters.

Appearance

Oh, and fed you, buddy! I look at those standing near Toyota Land Cruiser 200 and the new Nissan Patrol and I understand that the Cruiser is big, but the Patrol is, damn it, even bigger! Compared to its predecessor Y61, the new, sixth generation Y62 is spread out in all directions: it is 60 mm longer in overall length and 105 mm in wheelbase, 15 mm wider and 84 mm higher. It is clear that Nissan wanted to outdo not only the previous model, but also the first competitor TLC 200 in terms of dimensions.

Oh, and fed you, buddy!

In terms of dimensions, Nissan wanted to surpass not only the previous model, but also the first competitor of the TLC 200.

They surpassed it in some respects. They just obviously forgot about the “continuity of visual images”. Because you look at the angular and brutal Land Cruiser 200 and clearly understand: yes, this is definitely a Kruzak! And you look at the slick and “glamourous” Patrol, and the thought in your head is: hmm, well, yes ... it’s definitely Nissan ... And what is all this size race for?

Salon

That's what! That's where all those extra centimeters went! Compared to the LC 200 and, especially, to the previous generation Y61, the interior of the new Patrol is simply huge!

That's where all those extra centimeters went! Compared to the LC 200 and the cabin of the new "Patrol" is simply huge!

On the second row of seats, which, in fact, got the entire increase in the wheelbase, there is now so much space that you can sit cross-legged. There is also enough space in the front row and the length of the seat and steering wheel adjustments in all directions and for any height. But when the first enthusiasm passes, you notice that, for example, the steering wheel and pedal assembly with closely spaced pedals are noticeably shifted to the right. Because of this, for the sake of ease of landing, it always pulls to sit closer to the right edge of the seat. Fortunately, wide, imposing chairs allow this.

There is enough space in the front row and the length of the seat and steering wheel adjustments in all directions and for any height.

On the second row, you can sit with your legs crossed.

Visibility from the captain's seat of the "Patrol" is also specific. The windshield with its embrasure evokes associations with the Hummer H2. In powerful frontal pillars, both a pedestrian and a small truck can easily “hide”, and in the interior rear-view mirror, the palisade of the rear seat head restraints is more visible than what is happening behind the stern. And how to park in such a narrow place? It's good that there are four video cameras to help parktronics. With such a “all-round watch”, there is less chance of blindly demolishing something or trampling someone during the “mooring”.

The Land Cruiser has larger side mirrors, and nothing interferes with the rear view through the cabin.

Inside the LC200 after the "Patrol", of course, more cramped. The ceiling is lower (although the Cruiser itself is 11 mm higher), there is less legroom in the second row, longitudinal adjustment of the front seats and room for the left leg is already a bit lacking for a tall driver ... And in terms of interior trim and dashboard, Patrol looks frank richer.

The LC200 looks frankly more modest than the Patrol in terms of interior trim and dashboard.

But in the Land Cruiser, ergonomics are calculated more carefully! The steering wheel and more widely spaced pedals to one side, like the Patrol, are not littered, and in the more comfortable seats, you sit tighter, not dangling like a ball in a rattle. No problems with visibility: racks windshield thinner than the Patrol, the side mirrors are larger, and nothing interferes with the view back through the cabin.

Inside the LC200, there is less legroom in the second row, longitudinal adjustment of the front seats and room for the left leg for a tall driver is already a little lacking ...

And the sense of dimensions is much clearer here, so the Kruzak squeezes in between cars in a cramped yard easier than its opponent. And the fact that the “skin-faces” in the strict and concise interior of the LC200 is smaller is not shameful: an abundance of show-offs does not seem to suit a serious “rogue” ...

Chassis

The fact that the body of the Cruiser stands on a powerful frame is not particularly surprising! But the fact that the newest "Patrol" was also erected on a mighty frame "foundation" is already a pleasant surprise, especially against the backdrop of a sharp change in the image of an SUV and the current fashion for load-bearing bodies. But then the designs of the two mastodons seriously diverge. The Toyota LC200 has an independent spring suspension at the front, a solid axle on springs at the rear, with trailing arms and Panhard rod, plus stabilizers "in a circle."

The newest "Patrol" was erected on a mighty frame "foundation" - this is already a pleasant surprise.

Patrol left its bridges in the past for a more “passenger” behavior. So now he has all independent suspensions, and steering, respectively, rack. Moreover, the usual "iron" stabilizers roll stability also no more! Instead, there is the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system, in which special hydraulic cylinders connect the shock absorber struts to the frame and, under the “command” of two hydraulic accumulators, reduce lateral rolls and dampen the buildup.

The LC200 also has a similar anti-roll, it is called the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System. The basis of this system is two vertical hydraulic cylinders embedded in the anti-roll bars, connected by a common line to the control valve block. When, in a turn or on a slope, the massive “body” of an off-roader falls to one side, the highway is blocked - and the hydraulic cylinders “clamp” the stabilizers, thereby reducing the tilt of the body.

The designs of the two mastodons are seriously at odds.

But the Toyota system has one difference from the Nissan Patrol: off-road, when the axle wheels run in antiphase (say, with diagonal hanging), the line opens and the hydraulic cylinders “dissolve” the stabilizers, increasing the angle of suspension crossing.

Engines and transmissions

You may have a reasonable question: how can we compare the diesel Land Cruiser 200 and the petrol Patrol in this test ?! The question is logical, but upon closer examination, such a comparison is quite reasonable.

Yes, the LC200 has a 5.7-liter V8 petrol (368 hp, 530 Nm), but this engine comes to us exclusively in the expensive Lexus LX570 body. Land Cruiser 200 comes to Russia with a 4.7-liter gasoline engine (288 hp, 445 Nm). The engine is not so bad, but it is a slightly modernized, but already familiar “heart” from the past LC100.

Land Cruiser 200 has a new 4.5-liter biturbo diesel

V8 (235 hp, 615 Nm), combined

with a six-speed automatic, against 5 steps for gasoline versions.

There remains a new 4.5-liter V8 biturbodiesel (235 hp, 615 Nm), with which the “200” weighing 2640 kg accelerates to 100 km / h 0.6 seconds faster than its gasoline counterpart (8.6 and 9.2 sec, respectively). In addition, it is diesel that is combined with a six-speed automatic, against 5 steps for gasoline versions. So it is the diesel Kruzak that is most comparable to the Patrol.

Comparable, but Nissan is still in the lead here. After all, he has seven steps in the "automatic", and under the hood - the latest gasoline V8 of the VK56VD series with direct injection and phase shifters.

The "Patrol" has seven steps in the "automatic", and under the hood - the latest gasoline V8 of the VK56VD series with direct injection and phase shifters.

With a volume of 5.6 liters, 400 forces and 560 Nm of torque have been removed, which do not simply accelerate, but catapult a hefty “barge” with a curb weight of 2745 kg to “hundreds” in just 6.6 seconds! In the "passenger" press, describing the fast version of a car, they are very fond of phrases like "hot hatchback from such and such." And here we have a “hot SUV from Nissan”!

Patrol left its bridges in the past. Now all suspensions are independent, and the steering, respectively, is rack and pinion.

Interestingly, the classic "off-road" scheme all-wheel drive part-time was used just on the less off-road (in the fashion sense, at least) Nissan Patrol. If the transmission mode switch is in the Auto position, then the Patrol is rear-wheel drive, and the front axle is connected automatically using an electronically controlled clutch.

In the 4H mode, the front end is already rigidly connected, then the electric machine engages a lower gear (its number is 2.68), with the button we block the rear cross-axle "diff" - and go!

The Toyota LC200 has an independent spring suspension at the front, and a solid continuous axle on springs at the rear.

For LC200 gear ratio slightly less reduced (2.62), but the 4x4 scheme is simpler: both bridges are constantly “rowing”, and the Torsen center “self-block” can be forcibly blocked with a button. It’s only a pity that Russian Cruisers don’t have cross-wheel locks, so the A-TRC traction control system imitating locks will interfere with the “grinding” of the wheels.

On the run

An elephant with the agility of a gazelle?! The new Patrol is now exactly like that, it is just right to participate in illegal street races at night! "Tear" everyone at the start from a traffic light or "shoot" on the highway overtaking - for the "Patrol" this is not a problem. The reserve of dynamics is such that even a slight thoughtfulness of a softly working "machine" does not interfere here.

The LC200 accelerates pleasantly, in a diesel-like way: softly, powerfully, solidly, under the deep bass rumbling of diesel.

The Land Cruiser is more restrained. The "automatic" is even slower here, and the diesel does not have such an explosive temperament. But the LC200 accelerates pleasantly, in a diesel-like way: softly, powerfully, solidly, under the deep bass rumbling of diesel. Rides, too, as if on rails, straight and unshakable. And don't care about the coating: the all-consuming and unpretentious spring suspension makes the Kruzak ship-like soft and comfortable both on asphalt and on a broken-down gravel road, and at any speed.

The suspension makes the Kruzak ship-like soft and comfortable both on asphalt and on a broken-down gravel road, and at any speed.

Yes, vibrations are noticeable on bumps and potholes unsprung masses and keel buildup on the waves of the coating, the heavy steering wheel itches when the diesel is set to more than 2000 rpm, there is roll in corners, and the brakes do not shine with information. But against the background of the overall balance and solidity of the chassis, these are rather features than shortcomings.

With "Patrol" is more difficult. On smooth pavement, it feels a little more collected than the LC200, the brakes are tighter and the pedal travel is less, and the steering wheel after the Kruzak is simply weightless.

On pavement, Patrol feels a little more collected than the LC200, the brakes are tighter and the pedal travel is less, and the steering wheel after the Kruzak is simply weightless.

But no matter how nissanovites pursued light handling, the sweeping habits still remained, because you can’t get anywhere with size and weight. HBMC's trademark "anti-roll" and a wider track, of course, have an effect: less than the Cruiser leans to one side on the Patrol arc.

But the steering still lacks sharpness and precision. In addition, almost all road defects are transmitted to the steering wheel, for which, last but not least, a special “thank you” to hefty regular low-profile tires 275/60 R20 in size! And the worse the coating, the more its “asphalt” settings climb out of the suspension.

When driving on rough asphalt or bumpy primers, the Patrol suspension “reports” to passengers in detail about how bad everything is under the wheels.

Where the Toyota LC200 only rocks, the Nissan Patrol shakes the soul. When driving at low speeds on rough asphalt or bumpy primers, the suspension “reports” to passengers in detail about how bad everything is under the wheels. If you add speed, it becomes somewhat softer and the road "trifle" is less "broadcast" into the cabin, but if deep holes or transverse gullies come across on the way, the suspension starts to "hollow" so that it becomes scary for the car! You are afraid to remove the gas, slow down ... Somewhere I have already seen this ...

No matter how nissanovites chased for light handling, the sweeping habits still remained, because you can’t get anywhere with size and weight.

Remembered! The corporate "brothers" Patrol behave almost the same way - the "SUVs" Nissan Murano and Infiniti FX! Interestingly, in terms of "off-road" the new Patrol is also ... "parked"?

off-road

Judging by the dry figures of the characteristics - not yet. The declared off-road data of the "Patrol", as they say, inspire. Angles of entry, exit and ramp - 35, 26 and 24 degrees, respectively. The LC200 is smaller: 32, 25 and 24 degrees. And the minimum clearance for Patrol is greater: 275 mm versus 225 for the Cruiser. The test “Patrol” crawled along deep ruts without clinging, but at the bend of the terrain, its gas tank hanging below the frame is already “closing” on the ground.

The LC200's bumpers are harder to damage than the Patrol's.

Toyota in a rut starts to draw the ground earlier rear axle, and when moving over a sharp ridge, you can apply the steps. However, in the LC200, nothing hangs below the frame, the motor with the box is covered with protection, and the bumpers are much more difficult to damage than the Patrol. Plus big moves energy-intensive suspension and scrap traction on the "lower". If only the razdatka didn’t howl in low gear ...

Claimed

angles of entry, exit and ramp "Patrol"

35, 26 and 24 degrees, respectively.

The LC200 has a smaller one:

32, 25 and 24 degrees.

At Patrol, the transfer box does not make noise, but in loose sand, even in low gear, it is felt that the motor has a “horse” character (peak torque is at 4,000 rpm) and does not interfere with “turning”. And before storming a long climb or a viscous place, it is useful to switch the transmission to manual shift mode, because. V automatic mode the box at the most exciting moment (almost passed!) may well “make friends” by sticking an increased stage without demand where it is not needed at all.

No more levers sticking out of the floor! Transmission modes in the new Patrol are now selected by turning the chrome "washer".

As for the articulation of the Patrol’s independent pendants, it turned out to be huge, in order to hang this mastodon, you still need to find a place! We block the rear differential - and Patrol effortlessly crawls obliquely across a deep ditch almost at idle.

The cruiser does not go through this exercise so smoothly: it climbs through the trench, shuddering with the whole body from hard work traction control, and at some point you have to actively gas up so that there is enough traction on the wheels to pull a heavy car out of the “diagonal”.

Tires instantly rolled holes in the mud, tightly washed out - and almost three tons of high-tech Japanese iron turned into helpless "real estate".

And finally. Ultimately, our test subjects successfully passed the test disciplines “sand quarry” and “cross track”. And in the evening, I was impatient with my friends to ride on the "Patrol" through the surrounding fields. Ventilate before going to bed, so to speak ... The idea was classic, the finale too: under the cover of quickly descending darkness and to the accompaniment of the onset of rain, Patrol did not even drown, but corny "stuck" in a harmless puddle.

The current Y62 has a different philosophy: “No, of course, I can go directly ... if I really need to, but maybe it’s better to take a detour, eh?”

There was not enough acceleration, the expensive Bridgestone Dueler H / T road tires instantly rolled holes in the mud, tightly blurred - and almost three tons of high-tech Japanese iron at the cost of more than a hundred thousand "green" turned into helpless "real estate" at once. The situation, as usual, was saved by the all-conquering Russian shovel for 100 "wooden", multiplied by such and such a mother.

Therefore, the future owners of these giants want to repeat for the thousandth time: friends, before a sortie into the abyss, remember that tenacious rubber for any SUV is everything! Therefore, either everything, or ... at least take a shovel with you ...

Toyota remained Toyota against this background. LC200 is better and simpler, but more harmonious and more honest. He does not ask for a detour.

Toyota remained Toyota against this background. LC200 is better and simpler, but more harmonious and more honest. He does not ask for a detour. And on the roads behind the wheel of the Kruzak, the degree of indifference is stronger, and the feeling of permissiveness is stronger. And the fact how often expeditionary vehicles are built on the basis of the “two hundredth” also says something. And the new Patrol in a power body kit, with a winch, a trunk and on "mud" rubber? I would like to see it!

Options and prices

The new Nissan Patrol comes to our market in two versions. The base Base (in the spring it rose to 3,085,000 rubles) has xenon, LED rear lights, parking sensors with four cameras, 20-inch wheel disks and electric drive of the fifth door. In the leather-trimmed cabin - a heated steering wheel, a three-zone "climate", a sunroof, ventilated and heated front seats, a refrigerator in the armrest, a "Russian-speaking" navigator, a sunroof and a Bose audio system with 13 speakers. The Patrol has fewer airbags than the LC200 (six versus ten), but there is a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and, of course, a VDC stabilization system.

The new Nissan Patrol is supplied to our market in two versions: in the base Base (it rose in price to 3,085,000 rubles in the spring) and the top one (3,249,000 rubles)

The top version of "Patrol" (3,249,000 rubles) is supplemented with an entertainment system with two monitors for rear passengers, belt pretensioners, "smart" cruise control with a distance "controller" and a traffic lane tracking system.

Diesel and gasoline Toyota LC200s go to Russia in only one configuration "Lux" with 18-inch alloy wheels. The interior is trimmed with leather, there is a sunroof, four-zone climate control, heated seats of the first and second rows, parking sensors and one rear view camera. For versions with a gasoline engine, a cooled box is available in the front armrest. Of the multimedia systems, there is a DVD player with 14 JBL speakers and Russified navigation.

Diesel and gasoline Toyota LC200s go to Russia in only one configuration "Lux" with 18-inch alloy wheels.

Ten airbags are responsible for safety (including two knee airbags for the front row of seats), Pre-Crash belt pretensioners, adaptive ABS with BA emergency brake booster, VSC stabilization system and Crawl Control off-road “creeping” cruise control.

As for prices, they also jumped this spring, having increased by about 180,000 rubles. The petrol 4.7-liter version of the Land Cruiser 200 is now on sale for 3,100,000 rubles, and the diesel version for 3,122,000 rubles. Another 30,000 rubles. you have to pay extra for the anniversary version, released in honor of the 60th anniversary of the model.

Competitors

In addition to the Patrol and LC200, there are not so many full-size SUVs with multi-seat interiors in our market. First on the list is the seven-seater Mercedes-Benz GL. Due to the load-bearing body, the “German” is noticeably lighter than the Japanese couple, but its off-road arsenal is more than weighty: permanent all-wheel drive with a “lower”, locks for the center and rear “diff”, plus an iron argument in the form of an independent air suspension that can increase ground clearance to almost 300 mm. GL is offered with three engines (one diesel and two petrol) and one 7-speed "automatic" at a price of 3,150,000 rubles. for diesel and from 3,990,000 rubles. for petrol versions.

Whose intelligence is cooler? Toyota Land Cruiser 200 or Nissan Patrol?

Toyota Land Cruiser 200
(235 hp) 4.5 l, 6AT, price: 3,252,000 rubles.
Nissan Patrol
(405 hp) 5.6 l, 7AT, price: 3,544,000 rubles.

IN automotive world everything is changing at an alarming rate. Often, models "jump" from one segment to another, at the same time gaining new competitors. However, among all this inconstancy, there are instances that not only maintain a firm position in the class, but also go hand in hand with the same rival for many years.

If we considered the heroes of our test from the standpoint of the American market, we could say that we are dealing with SUVs slightly above the average size class. However, given the realities of our Russian market both the Nissan Patrol and the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 can be safely called real heavyweights. And, I must say, their track record truly inspires respect, and even the competition between these two SUVs has been going on for decades. Destined for such a long rivalry, they, however, have not yet met face to face on a test in our magazine. And another reason for the “face-to-face confrontation” was the Nissan Patrol update this year.

led shuffle

What's new this year at Nissan Patrol? In fact, a slight restyling was carried out, and the car got a new front bumper with a slightly modified false radiator grille, which did not greatly affect the perception of the overall image. LED elements of a rather interesting configuration appeared in the headlights. By the way, its rival Land Cruiser 200 received similar additions to the front optics back in 2011, however, the Toyota SUV is unlikely to compare with the Patrol in the original design of the front lighting devices. Well, modern fashion has to be followed by everyone who wants to stay at the peak of popularity. However, the practicality of such solutions is also an important factor: the durability and cost-effectiveness of LEDs is well known. But from rear lights in the updated Nissan Patrol, such elements were excluded, which, perhaps, is for the best. Such is the change of light scenery.

Otherwise, the Nissan Patrol remained the same, as evidenced by the interior space. In general, the 2010 Nissan Patrol took on a more refined image compared to the uncompromising Patrol that we still remember well. And in this they conceptually differ from the second participant in our test. The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 is still a brutal SUV with a rugged exterior and interior - a kind of workhorse in the world of automotive elite. As for the Patrol model, Nissan decided to “pull up” the image component of its offspring to the level of the Infiniti brand. There is nothing surprising here, because model range The premium American-Japanese brand has a close relative of the current Patrol - Infiniti QX80. The similarity is especially noticeable in the interior of the Nissan SUV, and the first thing that catches your eye is the center console, made exactly in the style Infiniti cars. Quite a large area of the dashboard and door panels is finished with wood with a wavy texture - such veneer is used in the decoration of elite musical instruments. Literally shiny leather was selected for the upholstery of the seats, armrests and other parts of the cabin. In a word, an unambiguous hint of luxury.

Severe does not mean poor

But if you take the Toyota Land Cruiser 200, almost the same thing can be found in it. Here and wooden lacquered inserts, and leather trim, and in general the quality of the materials is excellent. However, it looks somehow everyday, without causing any special emotions. Expensive, high quality, soundly, but somehow boring. In comparison with Patrol, the luxury is somehow harsh. Yes, and in terms of equipment, Nissan, although not by much, but bypassed the opponent. Basically, the level of equipment is similar. Both cars have a set of options that are necessary and sufficient for representatives of the premium segment. All driving adjustments are electrically driven. The climate control system has separate adjustments not only for the driver and front passenger, but also for those sitting in the back. Multimedia systems with built-in navigation, rear, side and front cameras with a display on the center console ... Stop. But the Nissan Patrol has three displays. There are two more screens built into the front seat headrests. They, unlike the multi-functional screen in the front panel, are intended only for entertainment, so that rear passengers do not get bored.

However, Nissan's off-roader still lacks flexibility. It is offered in three equipment levels - Base, High and Top. They differ, for the most part, in the presence or absence of numerous electronic systems assistance when driving on or off the road. But the Toyota Land Cruiser may also change the configuration of the cabin. If the Patrol interior can only be seven-seater, then the Land Cruiser 200 has versions with and without a third row of seats. The seats of the third row at the “two hundred” recline to the side walls, which is very significant in terms of additional space in the trunk. The third row of seats on the Nissan Patrol folds down to the floor, taking up a fair amount of liters that could be useful for luggage.

Nissan Patrol

The Nissan Patrol power unit is placed longitudinally in front. The bridges are equipped with simple symmetrical differentials (D). The torque-on-demand (T) system is responsible for taking power to the front axle. The transmission control panel is located on the central tunnel. In Auto mode, when driving on a flat, dry road, all power is transferred to the rear wheels, and if one of them slips, a multi-plate friction clutch is engaged. There are modes "sand", "snow" and "stones". When working in these modes, the electronics controls not only the transfer case, but also the automatic transmission and the stabilization system, which can be turned off. IN transfer box downshift (PP) is provided. The rear axle differential can be forcibly locked (P).

Choice is the key to success

Does not offer Patrol to its potential owners and choice power plants. After the update, the technical stuffing has not changed, and only 5.6-liter is installed on this car. Gas engine power 405 hp And no diesel compromises, just a gas guzzler! As for the Land Cruiser 200, as you know, it has options - both gasoline and diesel. The latter just participated in our test. And, I must say, efficiency suits everyone, even expensive SUVs. The diesel "two hundredth" proved to be excellent in the city, not forcing you to look at the fuel reserve indicator every minute - is it time to refuel. Of course, it cannot be compared in dynamics with the Nissan Patrol, which beats its rival in the test for more than two seconds in acceleration to 100 km / h. But the payment for such agility will not be long in coming: you will have to “feed” the 405-horsepower monster very often. In a word, for those who are accustomed not to deny themselves either speed or spending.

Nevertheless, the Land Cruiser 200 cannot be called slow. To manage the dynamics on this car is enough of a mission. First, the impressive thrust of the 4.5-liter diesel unit generally does not require frequent gear changes while driving, since the motor perfectly “pulls” from the most low speed and without kick-down mode. Well, and secondly, if there is still a need to accelerate more sharply, the transition to one or two “down” gears occurs quite quickly, the machine is quite responsive to the actions of the gas pedal.

Toyota LC200

Free bevel differentials (D) are installed in the front and rear axles of the LC 200, their blocking is simulated by the operation of the brake mechanisms (TM) when the slipping wheel is braked. Between the axles, the traction force is distributed by an asymmetric Torsen limited-slip differential (NSD) in a ratio of 40:60 (in favor of the rear wheels). With straight, uniform movement on a dry road, the differential is in a free state. In the event of deterioration of conditions for wheel adhesion to the ground, up to 50% of the torque can be realized through the front axle of the off-road vehicle, and up to 70% through the rear axle. Among other things, there is a set of Multi-terrain Select systems that allows you to adapt the on-board electronics to one of five types of coverage (mud and sand, crushed stone, mogul, stones and dirt, large stones).

Intelligence for different roads

One of the main advantages of the Nissan Patrol as an SUV is its behavior on the pavement. Yes, yes, this is not a reservation. Indeed, after the transition in 2010 to the “club of independent suspensions”, Patrol significantly improved its asphalt capabilities. But, as you know, cars off-road on smooth roads they do not shine with filigree handling. This statement, however, is true for both test participants. But still, on the Land Cruiser 200, when performing test exercises, you do not feel very confident. The long steering wheel, soft, blurred reactions do not allow you to clearly perform the "rearrangement". The car slides with the front axle, straightening the trajectory. At the same time, you understand that with such slightly even frightening rolls, a more “sharp” behavior could turn into a rollover. Nissan Patrol also has decent rolls. But its more distinct trajectory and course stability gives a little more confidence. So the habits of Patrol can be considered more passenger than those of the opponent.

In addition, the Nissan SUV is equipped with a hydraulic system for limiting body vibrations, which also does its job during sharp maneuvers. In general, Patrol is equipped with many "prevention" systems. For the most part, they relate to driving on flat roads. Thanks to them, the car is able to control the distance when cruise control is on, monitor traffic within the markings, warn of the risk of a collision, “monitor” blind spots on the sides, and also prevent a collision when reversing.

But the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 focuses on off-road equipment. The Multi Terrain Select and Crawl Control systems, each of which has five modes, are not just marketing "chips", but really useful features. Multi terrain Select lets you choose from five types of terrain, and with Crawl Control you can set one of five levels of off-road speed limits. The same system also controls the descent from the mountain, applying the brakes, but at the same time preventing skidding. Of course, almost everything that electronics does, an experienced driver can do himself by turning on the lower row and the corresponding locks, but that's the beauty of the "two hundred" that here everyone can choose whether to rely on the car's intelligence or minimize its influence and act on your own, using the necessary transfers and locks. There is another mode, which, perhaps, can be classified as entertainment. This is Turn Assist - off-road turning assistance. The bottom line is to reduce the turning radius on loose and slippery soils by blocking one rear wheel. Performing such a reversal is quite funny, but the usefulness of this function is clearly not great.

Nissan Patrol does not provide the driver with such freedom and diversity. Unlike the Land Cruiser 200 all-wheel drive system with a center differential, the Patrol's axle torque distribution is carried out using an electronic multi-plate clutch. And the driver can choose one of four modes - sand, asphalt, snow or stones. Each of them implements its own algorithm for the operation of the interaxle assembly, as well as brake mechanisms that limit the slippage of each wheel individually. The driver, of course, has the opportunity to downshift and lock the rear differential, but the center lock is completely under the control of the car. Hill Descent Assist (HSA) and Hill Descent Assist (HDC) systems are also part of the Patrol's arsenal.

Focusing on the premium nature of its model, Nissan, perhaps, somewhat confused the maps with a related brand Infiniti. What is the place of the luxurious Patrol now, if for almost the same money there is an equally luxurious, but more prestigious Infiniti QX80? Perhaps this option is closer to the American market. And for domestic realities, the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 is more understandable, remaining in its niche, thanks to which it maintains its stable position.

Fans of huge ones, which are called SUVs, have a very difficult time. Among the wide range of various models presented in the salons, it is quite difficult to choose your optimal car. Most recently, a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser 200 appeared before the Russians in all its glory, which in a short time was able to gather its circle of admirers. It cannot be said that the novelty greatly pleased the Nissan concern, since at that time this automaker did not have a single model that could be on the same level as the Land Cruiser. The Nissan Infiniti QX 56 and Patrol Y61, previously developed by design engineers, could not surpass the comfortable car from Toyota. True, in a short time, a new Nissan Patrol appeared before potential consumers, the main advantage of which was the introduction of an independent suspension. In the article below, we will try to compare Nissan Patrol and Land Cruiser 200, choose the most comfortable, maneuverable and convenient car.

Comparison of specifications

Let's start right away with those properties that are identical for both vehicles. First of all, it is worth noting the power unit - both cars have a V8 engine type, drive type (4WD), fording depth (70 cm), front and rear disc brakes.

Nissan Patrol, in comparison with the Toyota Land Cruiser 200, has slightly superior performance in terms of displacement (5552 cm versus 4608), engine output (405/309), maximum torque, automatic transmission (7 gearboxes versus 6 gearboxes), ground clearance (275 / 225), acceleration to 100 km / h (6.6 / 8.6), speed (210/205), fuel tank capacity (100/93). True, no matter how good the Nissan Patrol is, the Toyota Land Cruiser surpasses it in fuel consumption. If the first absorbs 14.5 liters in the combined cycle, then the second - 13.6 liters.

"National" features of the TLC 200

Despite the fact that the majority of Russians confidently purchase medium-sized and nearest suburban roads (while female representatives are increasingly choosing maneuverable compact small cars), many people have a desire to “manage the dream” from the Toyota concern.

The object of this very desire is most often a presentable Land Cruiser 200 or, in extreme cases, RAV4. The developers of a stylish modern SUV are still proud of their invention, which is why they treat its design and exterior with love and awe, being afraid to spoil the idyll with new modifications.

There is some visible mysticism around the “200th” Land Cruiser, because, no matter how paradoxical it may sound, it is worth improving the model and equipping it best performance handling and comfort, independent suspension and other fashionable elements - everything, the car will immediately lose its status. True, the Toyota management team may not think about it at all, they managed to create a strong endurance car that is ready to go through almost any off-road. As the practice of recent years shows, Prado and HiLux, due to the huge cost, cannot become a worthy competitor to the Land Cruiser. The English Defender and the American Runner will also not be able to bypass the development of Toyota in the ranking of the best SUVs.

Features of the Nissan Patrol

The Nissan Patrol Y62, which has found a place in the hearts of many Russians, is based on the same base as the latest Infiniti QX 56. The Patrol was most likely created in order to compete with the LC 200, due to which it became longer and wide, with a larger wheelbase and ground clearance.

Nissan Patrol has an excellent monumental exterior that does not negatively affect spacious saloon. Regarding the free space inside the car, it is impossible to say which is better: Nissan Patrol or Land Cruiser, since the outwardly more compact Toyota is in no way inferior in convenience, according to experts, the interior space of two cars is conducive to squat dancing.

The seats of the Nissan Patrol, located in the second row, are slightly higher than the seats of the Land Cruiser. A full-fledged third row of seats folds comfortably without reducing luggage space, in turn, the seats in the TLC 200 move to the sides, making the trunk area a little smaller.

True, for an overnight stay that can make fishermen and hunters spend the night in, it is preferable to choose a Land Cruiser, where the retracted second row of seats leaves a more even floor than in the Patrol. Despite the fact that only a few boards are transported in these presentable expensive cars, for those who want to take skis with them, it is more convenient to get them from the Land Cruiser, equipped with a hinged tailgate, the lower compartment of which can be smoothly lowered.

Regardless of which model the car owner prefers: Nissan Patrol or Land Cruiser 100, the owner will have at his disposal a car equipped with a spacious refrigerator, which will be located between the front seats. Nissan Patrol has one additional feature - its refrigerator is equipped with a bi-directional lid, which can be easily opened by passengers even in the second row of seats.

The updated version of the Land Cruiser is not inferior to its rival in newfangled “chips”, now its owner can enjoy the ventilation of the front seats, a heated steering wheel and four-zone climate control. It is noteworthy that passengers traveling in the second row can independently control the climate control unit, setting the parameters in a way that is more convenient for them. In turn, the Nissan Patrol outperforms the Cruiser in terms of adaptive cruise control and headrest-mounted monitors.

Not knowing what to choose, a motorist can buy a Nissan Patrol or a Land Cruiser with his eyes closed, any of the selected models will be able to please with newfangled modern filling elements. True, those who are accustomed to conservatism are better off choosing the TLC 200, as its design, against the backdrop of more frilly curves and massive wood trim that fills the "Patrol", makes the Land Cruiser more cozy and comfortable.

Technical capabilities of devices

Gasoline powertrains, which are equipped with Nissan Patrol and Land Cruiser, open up many opportunities for the owner. For lovers of speed and huge returns, it is preferable to choose the Patrol engine, an eight-cylinder V-shaped engine with a volume of 5.6 liters with a return of 405 hp. With. allows you to accelerate from zero speed to 100 in just 6.6 seconds, which puts this car on a par with modern sports cars. As for power unit from Toyota, then everything is a little simpler here, the engine capacity is almost a liter less, and the return is one hundred “horses” weaker. This affected the acceleration speed to 100 km / h, increasing it to 8.6 s.

Having subjectively considered dynamic characteristics both machines, it is safe to say that better nissan Patrol, Land Cruiser, in turn. As practice shows, the Patrol engine roaring all over the district requires regular power supply in the form of 25–30 liters of fuel (city driving).

Both cars are equipped exclusively with automatic transmissions with manual mode, while the Patrol has a seven-speed unit, the Land Cruiser boasts only a 6-speed gearbox. Despite the presence of all seven stages, the Patrol is characterized by a slight delay during the start, and all shifts are slightly less hidden from the user. As for the Land Cruiser, automatic transmission slows down the car a little during the start of movement, sharp braking is not typical for the car. And in general, despite the fact that the Land Cruiser braking system is an order of magnitude better than the one that the Nissan Patrol has, both cars lean forward with a sharp “stupor”, and the latter, in addition to everything else, goes to the side.

Huge Nissan plus Patrol, according to many motorists, is an independent suspension, however, in practice, driving these cars is equally difficult, not even considering the fact that both cars allow the owner to simply forget about all the bumps and bumps in the road surface. The steering device of the Land Cruiser makes you not think about vibrations, its feedback is somewhat better, the directional stability is “collected”, but all these advantages cover the lateral rolls, which are more than those of the Patrol. While driving the Nissan Patrol, its restraint immediately catches the eye, sharp turns are devoid of strong drifts. rear axle and banks. The ESP installed in the Land Cruiser 200 is also worthy of attention, although those who are not afraid of tangible rolls will like it more.

Cross-country ability of SUVs

If you put a Nissan Patrol against a Land Cruiser 200, and drive both cars to Saudi Arabia or United Arab Emirates, where everything is covered with sand, it will be possible to single out a clear favorite within the first ten minutes. Nissan Patrol will be able to surpass the Land Cruiser 200, since in such a situation, traction and recoil of the power unit should be put in the first place. However, most Russians will not test these cars in the sand, Russian realities are mud, snow-covered ruts and swampy terrain, but despite this, Patrol, among other off-road programs, does not have a “dirt” section.

Multifunctional device systems

Comparing the Nissan Patrol and the Land Cruiser 200 is easy enough, especially when it comes to different off-road systems. The fact is that, despite the versatility of the properties that allow the Land Cruiser to go through any off-road, its functionality that controls the system is located in separate parts of the panel, which greatly burdens the ability to quickly switch the necessary buttons, especially if off-road land owner Cruiser leaves extremely rarely. In contrast, the Nissan Patrol car has a two-stage washer that is responsible for absolutely all available Off-Road systems.

It is 275 mm, while the Land Cruiser has 200-225 mm (which is enough for him). In practice, the Cruiser is better at moving over breaks in the road than Nissan, which is ready to lie on its “belly” on every pothole, however, despite the proximity of the bottom to the surface, the Patrol owner, even with a strong desire, will not be able to damage his car, since the elements are securely hidden and located on order above the frame. True, even such huge SUVs, to which everything seems simple and affordable, can get into a very unpleasant situation - both cars are able to “hang” in soft ground. If a person is driving any of the compared units for the first time, he can drive a car up to his very “ears” in a few minutes, sitting on his belly, it will be very difficult to get a car, since it will be necessary extra help some powerful tractor.

Little technical tricks

Usually, people who buy a Toyota LC 200 or Nissan Patrol practice it not only off-road, but also within the city, and therefore we can conclude that these titans are comfortable, which life has brought into narrow city lanes. The fact is that Patrol has a very useful feature that allows the owner of the vehicle to see on the monitor on-board computer“street view from above”, using the built-in functionality, a picture can appear on the screen, in which images from four cameras are collected. This property helps overall car avoid hitting nearby cars and park carefully.

Comparing the Land Cruiser 200 with the Nissan Patrol in terms of comfort will give the latter extra points, as the Patrol is equipped with many useful features, in particular adaptive cruise control, a double-sided refrigerator cover and monitors built into the headrests. The Toyota LC 200 tries to stand up to the competition by wooing consumers with four-zone climate control, even adjustable for middle-row passengers and heated seats. In total, comparing all the facts, we can say with confidence that the Land Cruiser is a little softer and quieter.

Choosing a crossover is an important matter, if you take into account the cost of such a car. Moreover, now they offer a large number of different vehicles. Among such a variety it is difficult to give preference to a particular model, but somehow it is necessary to decide.

If you want to understand what will be better: Patrol or Land Cruiser 200, our article will help you make the final decision.

If you want to compare Nissan Patrol and Land Cruiser 200, then you should start with the most important - technical features models. It is worth noting that technical indicators not too different here. Both vehicles are equipped with a V8 engine, as a result, fords up to 70 centimeters deep do not cause any difficulties in overcoming. In addition, the standard equipment both there and there involves front and rear disc brake mechanism. True, Nissan has more ground clearance (27.5 centimeters compared to 22.5 cm).

But to be objective when choosing a Nissan Patrol or Land Cruiser 200, it is worth noting that the first car somewhat outperforms the first. First of all, here it is worth dwelling on the size of the engine. At Nissan, it is as much as 5.5 liters, while at Kruzak it is 4.6 (which is also quite powerful). The transmission is also different.

The dynamics of both cars is simply excellent (with their dimensions!), but even here Nissan overtook its Japanese competitor. Patrol takes a hundred in 6.6 seconds, while Toyota can develop a similar speed in only 8.6 seconds. And the maximum acceleration is 210 and 205 kilometers, respectively.

Video test drive and Nissan comparison Patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser 200:

As a result, this also affected the fuel consumption figures. The 200 Land Cruiser model is somewhat more economical. In mixed mode, it will need 13.6 liters, while for the analogue from the Nissan brand, it needs as much as 14.6 liters under the same driving conditions.

What makes Toyota different

Before you find out which is better: Nissan Patrol or Land Cruiser 200, it is worth evaluating the features of each vehicle. And we will begin our description with a representative of the Toyota concern. We can say with confidence that almost everyone has a dream to buy just such a car. Especially when it comes to a presentable Land Cruiser 200, well, or at least RAV4.

Until now, manufacturers are proud of their offspring, and for good reason. After all, both the exterior and interior of the car are just perfect, any changes can damage the decor.

This car model is in the halo of mysticism - probably, if improved vehicle, adding a bit of handling and comfort, as well as equipping it with independent suspension and a number of other fashionable elements, it may lose its charm.

On the other hand, even now the car behaves just fine. The car turned out to be strong, reliable, it can easily overcome almost any impassability. This is also confirmed by the mass of ratings, where Toyota has practically no worthy competitors among other SUVs.

A few words about Nissan

But strengths in the battle of Nissan Patrol against the Land Cruiser 200, not only the second car has it. In general, the very process of creating the model is most likely due to the fact that the automaker did not have a worthy competitor to the LC 200.

As a result, the new Patrol came out larger and more massive than previous counterparts. The car is distinguished by its monumental interior. At the same time, all design decisions related to the design of the body are not reflected in any way on the spaciousness of the cabin.

Interior Features

It is difficult to choose between the Nissan Patrol or the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 in terms of roominess and spaciousness inside. At first glance, it may seem that the LC 200 is smaller, as it is more compact in appearance. At the same time, both according to experts and owners, the driver and passengers feel comfortable in both cars.

In the Nissan Patrol, the rear seats are slightly higher than those of the Cruiser. At the same time, there is a full-fledged third row that can be folded, which significantly increases capacity. At the same time, in Kruzak, the chairs move to the sides. In fact, the LC 200 lags behind in terms of trunk. But he overlaps this card with the fact that it is better to sleep in Toyota. This is especially true for fishermen and hunters. During sleep, you don’t have to curl up there, there is enough space. In addition, the Cruiser's trunk is equipped with a hinged door, which allows you to carry long items, like skis.

Whatever model the future car owner chooses, the vehicle will be equipped with a spacious refrigerator between the front seats. But in Nissan, the lid of the device is bidirectional, so even passengers who are located behind can use the refrigerator.

Continuing to choose: Nissan Patrol or Toyota Land Cruiser 200, it is worth emphasizing that the latter car is equipped with a number of newfangled features, including:

  • ventilation of the front seats;
  • steering wheel heating;
  • four-zone climate control.

At the same time, passengers can also control such climate control. Competing Nissan is not far behind. Among the advantages of the model are adaptive cruise control, as well as monitors built into the headrests.

In fact, it is impossible to objectively assess which is better: Patrol or Land Cruiser. True, lovers of conservatism will suit the second car, and there is more comfort and coziness. But Nissan, on the other hand, is distinguished by its artsy curves and massive trim, which adds originality to it.

Features of power units

We have already compared: Nissan Patrol or Land Cruiser 100 in terms of technical characteristics, but now we will dwell on this in more detail. Powerful engines allow you to put Nissan along with modern sports cars, because even they do not always gain a hundred in 6.6 seconds.

In principle, you can not want more from such an engine. In the case of the Cruiser, everything is somewhat simpler, because the engine volume is almost a liter less, and the power in horses is a whole hundred behind. On the other hand, we have two options:

  • Nissan is more powerful, faster, faster;
  • The LC 200 is more economical (for example, to feed the Patrol you need about 25-30 liters of gasoline when driving around the city).

Paired with the engine is an exclusively automatic gearbox, while the transmission also has a manual mode.

True, it is important to say that Toyota is equipped with a much more efficient braking system. Despite this, during braking, the car leans forward, in the case of Patrol, it also leads to the side.

For many motorists, the choice between Toyota Land Cruiser or Nissan Patrol is obvious, since the latter option has an independent suspension. But in practice, driving both vehicles is not so easy, although you can completely forget about various bumps in the road - even large pits and potholes are easily absorbed by the suspension.

Several outperforms Toyota and steering. It completely allows you to forget about all the vibrations, and the feedback with directional stability is on the level here. Nissan Patrol, on the other hand, has its own trump card - it has practically no lateral rolls, even on fairly sharp turns.

Permeability level

If we were talking about the conditions of Africa, where everything is covered with sand, then there could be no doubt about the leader - Nissan would have bypassed its competitor in 10 minutes. At the same time, in Russia it is hardly possible to find a track completely made of sand. Basically, the problem is mud, swampy terrain, as well as snow marks. However, the Patrol does not have a “dirt” program, although there are many others designed for off-road driving.

Multifunctionality of the device system

And here it is easy to compare cars. Although the Land Cruiser 200 has great functionality that allows you to overcome off-road, it is not so easy for the driver to reach the control system. Switching buttons quickly is difficult, especially if you rarely have to do this. But Nissan's two-stage washer, which is responsible for all the off-road systems present, is very convenient to use.

Although ground clearance Toyota has less, it handles road breaks better. On the other hand, even if the bottom of the Patrol crosses out the road surface, it is almost impossible to damage the car in this way, since all systems are hidden and are much higher than the frame.

Of the main disadvantages of vehicles, it is worth noting the poor patency on soft ground. Cars are massive, so they sag easily. An inexperienced driver can drive the vehicle in such a way that it will have to be pulled out with a powerful tractor.

Small technical tricks

As a rule, people who purchase such crossovers use them not only off-road, but also in urban areas.

For Patrol owners it is important to know about one feature of the car, with which you can observe the street from above.

Thanks to the display of all four cameras on the screen, it will be possible to comprehensively assess the situation on the road and make the right decision during parking and other maneuvers.

What do we get as a result

So, if you want to choose Patrol or Land Cruiser 100 (or the two hundredth model), then it is difficult to knock out an unambiguous result. After a thorough assessment of cars, we can say that Patrol is the spiritual heirs of Toyota, but it surpasses its counterpart solely in terms of dynamics and cross-country ability. But in terms of comfort and handling, the cars are on the same level.

As a rule, Toyota LC 200 is preferred by people who are bigger and smoother, but Nissan is a great choice for those who like fast driving, fast acceleration and original decor. At the same time, it should be borne in mind that Kruzak will cost an order of magnitude more expensive - the most expensive Nissan is cheaper by 100 thousand of the basic Toyota equipment.
