Master's advice. Changing the oil in a robotic gearbox The cost of changing the oil in a powershift gearbox

For the correct and durable operation of a robotic manual transmission in conditions Russian roads: traffic jams,
severe climate - we recommend filling in semi-synthetic oils with a viscosity of 75W-90.
It is a multigrade semi-synthetic gear oil for the lubrication of passenger car transmissions.
- ТNK Trans KP Super 75W-90
- Castrol TAF-X 75W90
- Shell Transaxle Oil 75W90
- ESSO GEAR OIL GX 75W-90
2. Driving through traffic jams and parking on the robot.
In case of a long traffic jam, switch the manual transmission to the mode (M) - manual gear shifting.
When moving in 1st gear, do not be afraid to turn the engine up to 3000-5000 rpm.
During long stops, such as: railway crossing, long traffic lights, traffic jams,
waiting for a passenger, etc., necessarily! move the manual transmission to (N) - neutral position,
to avoid clutch overheating!
3. When to change the clutch on a manual transmission?
The box "robot" Durashift EST, with proper operation, protects the clutch, flywheel, release.
Therefore, clutch wear is observed from 150-180 thousand km (depending on the nature
movement - in city traffic jams or on a busy country road)
4. What is the adaptation (training) of the "robot"?
Robot adaptation is complex step by step process, at which the electronics of the machine are rebuilt (from scratch)
learns engine torque, learns to shift gears, squeeze the clutch and move off smoothly.
The adaptation process is carried out using a dealer scanner, it includes 3 stages:
1) hydraulic bleeding of the clutch (removal of air from the system), adjustment of the TCM module.
At this stage, the brake fluid is changed.
2) training of executive motors, at this stage the dealer scanner teaches the "robot" to shift gears,
from first to second, from second to third........etc
3) at the last stage of adaptation, the dealer scanner is already on a running car, the clutch is "friendly" (TCM module)
with executive motors that are responsible for gear shifting. The car is trying to move
the clutch is smoothly applied, the gears are engaged .....
5. How often and in what cases should the "robot" be adapted?
For optimal operation of the "robot" shift brake fluid must be performed every 30-40 thousand km.
(or once a year).
In case of airing of the hydraulic system of the robot, it is necessary to make an adaptation.
6. Is it possible to carry the Robot on a rope?
YES - if the machine is in neutral (N). (The machine can be freely pushed)
In the event that the car broke down and remained in gear, it is better to use a tow truck.
7. Is it possible to slip another car on the Robot?
Yes - just like a manual transmission. It is better to tow in (M) mechanical mode,
controlling engine speed.
8. Manual transmission oil change interval (Durashift EST)
The oil change in the box of the robot should be carried out together with the replacement of the clutch on a run of 150-180 thousand km
9. Can the car be left at "speed" on an uphill or downhill slope?
It is possible as on a mechanical box.
10. What is creep mode?
This is the mode when the car is moving without pressing the accelerator pedal (gas) in (D) Drive mode.
This mode is useful in traffic jams.
11. What are the typical errors in case of a malfunction of the Fusion, Fiesta, Civic 5d robot box?
1 - error P0810 (clutch position sensor);
2 - error p0919 (error in controlling the position of the switching mechanism);
3 - error p0949 (adaptation not fully completed).

Today, cars equipped with robotic gearboxes () have become increasingly popular. Such transmissions combine the comfort and convenience of an automatic transmission, as well as the inherent fuel economy.

At the same time, it is important to understand that manual transmissions are structurally reminiscent of mechanics, however, quality requirements after-sales service data boxes are slightly increased.

Maintenance should be understood as changing the oil and filters of the robot box. Next, we will look at when and why you need to change the oil in the manual transmission, which oil for the robot box you need to select, and also how the oil is changed in the robotic gearbox.

Box robot: features of this type of gearbox

The robotic box is the same “mechanics”, however, the clutch release and gear shift functions are automated. Such automation became possible due to the presence, as well as actuators (hydraulic drives, servo drives)

Types of servo drives for clutch and gear shifting of manual transmission:

  • electric drive (servomechanisms - electric motor and mechanical transmission);
  • hydraulic drive (hydraulic cylinders controlled by electromagnetic valves).

Manual transmission operating modes:

  • Automatic mode (ECU controls the box using actuators);
  • Semi-automatic (manual). Sequential shifting from downshift to upshift and vice versa occurs using the gearshift selector or paddle shifters.

By their own design features Manual transmissions can be with one (type) or two clutch packs (type). Moreover, dual clutch boxes are also different, as the clutch can be "dry" or "wet". Them fundamental difference is that in a manual transmission with a wet clutch, the clutch discs are immersed in gear oil.

We go further. As for the maintenance of the manual transmission, the instruction manual for any car contains the necessary information that allows the car owner not only to properly operate his car, but also to maintain it in a quality manner.

At the same time, in the case of a robot box, it is quite often possible to meet the statement that the unit is maintenance-free and is designed for the entire life of the car. In practice, it is important to understand that although a robotic gearbox is a mechanical type gearbox, it cannot be said that the maintenance and repair of such a gearbox is similar to a traditional manual transmission.

Robotic boxes need more frequent and regular maintenance; in case of malfunctions, some transmissions of this type may even exceed the cost of their repair.

Such high cost is due to the presence of servomechanisms, hydraulic drives, mechatronics (valve body), etc. This is especially true when it comes to preselective dual-clutch robots (DSG,).

However, despite more high cost maintenance of these gearboxes, the price of cars equipped with a manual transmission is often less than if the car is equipped with a “classic” automatic or. As a result, robotic checkpoints are in growing demand.

When and why is it necessary to change the oil in a robotic box

As mentioned above, in the manual you can find information that the box is maintenance-free. In practice, if the owner intends to avoid premature breakdowns and increase, it is necessary to replace transmission oil and RKPP filters.

It is important to understand that manual transmissions (especially dual-clutch versions) are a rather complex unit due to their design features. At the same time, the overall service life of the robot box will depend on how the box is operated correctly and how well the maintenance is carried out.

So, it is recommended to change the oil for a robot box with one clutch disc after a maximum of 80 thousand km. run. If we are talking about double-clutch shift boxes (for example, DSG), then in robot boxes with a “dry” clutch, the oil can be changed after 60-70 thousand km. mileage, while the version with a "wet" clutch requires replacement by 50-60 thousand.

In parallel, it should be taken into account if the car is operated in difficult conditions and loaded modes (aggressive driving, off-road driving, towing a trailer, transporting heavy loads, etc.), in which case the oil change intervals must be further reduced (at least 20- 40%)

Even changing the oil in the robot box ahead of schedule may be due to problems that arise during the operation of this transmission and require its repair or unscheduled maintenance.

Main malfunctions robotic box gears:

  • feeling of shocks / shocks when shifting gears in the "D", "S", "M" modes;
  • appearance extraneous sounds in the gearbox when the car is moving at low / high speeds;
  • the occurrence of vibrations in the box while driving;
  • mechatronics malfunction (errors are read during diagnostics).

Often the cause of such problems is precisely transmission fluid. The fact is that the functional role of oil in manual transmission:

  • cooling;
  • lubrication of components and assemblies of the box;
  • removal of dirt and small particles.

We also add that the presence of mechatronics in a double clutch box means that in fact the oil in such a robot is working fluid(similar to automatic transmission). Simply put, pressurized fluid is supplied through channels to the actuators.

What oil to fill in a robotic box, how many liters of oil in a robot box

The choice of oil for manual transmission will depend on several factors:

  • car model and make;
  • year of car manufacture;
  • transmission type;

As a rule, they are used in robotic boxes because they are more resistant to oxidative processes and retain their properties longer when exposed to mechanical and thermal loads.

Each manufacturer for replacement in robotic boxes recommends only original oil suitable for this car model.

For example:

  • Volkswagen - VAG ATF DSG oil is recommended for a six-speed wet clutch DSG;
  • Renault - ELF RENAULTMATIK D3 SYN oil is recommended for manual transmission with one clutch disc;
  • Ford - Castrol Transmax Dual 75W or FORD 1 490 761 oil is recommended for PowerShift manual transmission.

Another important point is the amount of oil poured into the manual transmission. The amount of transmission fluid in the robot box is indicated in the manual for the car. Also, when self-replacing in a garage, many practice a bay of exactly the same volume that was drained before. Next, the level is monitored (if necessary, the level is adjusted).

Oil change in a robotic box

Changing the oil in a robot box is not difficult. The process of changing the oil in a robotic box is practically no different from changing the oil in a conventional mechanical box. Such an oil change can be done both at the service station and on your own (if you have the necessary conditions and tools).

Before replacing, you need to study the manual to find out which oil is recommended for the robot box, as well as how many liters of oil in the robot box on a particular car. Having decided on the type of transmission fluid and quantity, you can proceed to the procedure for updating the gearbox lubricant. For example, consider changing the oil in a robot box to Toyota car Corolla.

In the car’s operating instructions, the manufacturer recommends Toyota Genuine Manual Transmission Gear Oil LV API GL-4 SAE 75 fluid for the robotic gearbox, corresponding to SAE 75W viscosity and API GL-4 class. The recommended oil volume is 1.9 liters. For a 6-speed robotic box on a Corolla, the oil volume is 2.4 liters.

The step-by-step process for changing the oil in a robot box is as follows:

  • it is necessary to warm up the box to the desired temperature (you need to drive a car 5-10 km, during which time the transmission fluid should warm up);
  • install the car on a pit, overpass or raise it on a lift (you need free access under the front of the car);
  • turn off the engine, remove the protection of the car (it is necessary to free access to the manual transmission);
  • unscrew the drain plug of the box and drain the used oil into a prepared container (for operation, a ring wrench for “24” is required);
  • unscrew the filler plug of the box and tighten the drain plug;
  • insert a hose with a funnel of the appropriate diameter into the filler hole;
  • pour oil into the filler hole (it is necessary to fill in oil until it flows out of the filler hole);
  • tighten the filler plug, install the engine protection.

We also add that the use of non-original oils should be avoided. If the owner, for one reason or another, changes the transmission fluid to a non-original one, then which should be different high quality and comply with all tolerances and recommendations of the vehicle or transmission manufacturer.

Still in progress partial replacement(when oil is just added) should be avoided. In simple words, for topping up, use only the oil that has already been filled in the gearbox. This will avoid loss of useful properties of the lubricant, precipitation, unwanted chemical reactions, etc.

What is the result

As you can see, during the operation of a car equipped with a manual transmission, the owner needs to control the quantity and quality of the oil poured into the box. As a rule, such a unit often does not have the usual oil dipstick, unlike automatic transmissions.

On some robots, for this purpose, a control window with wall gradation is made, the level and condition of the lubricant is also monitored along the edge of the filler hole (similar to many manual transmissions), etc. The required amount of oil for the manual transmission (if necessary, replacement) is indicated in the vehicle operating instructions.

Finally, we note that owners often mistake a robot box for automated mechanics, referring to a similar design. In fact, the robot box must be able to operate correctly, and the oil used must exactly meet the technical requirements of the robotic gearbox manufacturer.

  • Paired with a 2.0L engine on a Ford Focus III a manual transmission MTX75 was installed, while the 1.6 liter engines were equipped with a manual transmission of the B5 / iB5 series. Also, the car was equipped with automatic transmissions Powershift 6DCT250 and 6DCT450, which are robotic gearboxes with two clutches. Let's consider how to change the oil in the checkpoint for Ford Focus 3 yourself.

    How often should the gearbox oil be changed?

    In mechanical gearboxes, grease is poured for the entire service life. Therefore, changing the oil in the Ford Focus 3 manual transmission is recommended only if the gearbox is being repaired. This practice is extremely common among automakers, but for a long and serviceable gearbox, it is still better to change the oil every 100 thousand km.

    As with the manual transmission, there is no replacement for the 6DCT250 dry clutch robotic transmission. On the 6DCT450, the manufacturer recommends changing the transmission fluid every 45 thousand km. This is due to the fact that the design of the 6DCT450 uses a wet clutch, so the wear products of the friction linings clog fuel filter, fluid circulation channels in mechatronics.

    Oil selection

    Robotic gearboxes can be filled with transmission fluid approved WSS-M2C200-D2. For gear lubrication mechanical box B5/iB5 oils with specification WSD-M2C200-C (class - API GL 4/5) are recommended.

    For MTX75, the WSS-M2C200-D2 specification is recommended. If the specifications and class are met, then the long operation of the gearbox will be ensured by both original products under the Ford label and good analogues (for example, Castrol, Motul, Shell, Mobil 1, ARAL). The recommended viscosity for manual transmission is 80W-90 (for regions where the temperature often drops below -30ºС, it is advisable to fill in 75W-90).

    Oil change in manual transmission Ford Focus 3

    For self-replacement, you will need a viewing hole. You can fill in new oil with a special syringe, but it is much more convenient to follow the instructions and use the filler hole. Of the other tools, you will need socket heads for 8, 19, a hexagon for 8 or a Torx T-50.

    Do-it-yourself oil change in a Ford Focus 3 box should be done in the first 10-15 minutes after the trip. As the lubricant warms up, it becomes more fluid, allowing more fluid to drain more quickly.

    Oil change in automatic transmission Ford Focus 3

    Before self-replacement oil on a Ford Focus III with a 6DCT450, do not forget to buy a new filter element (the filter is not installed on a “robot” with a dry clutch).

    To replace you need:

    • unscrew the filler plug with a hexagon, which is located in the upper part of the gearbox housing. To access it, you will need to remove some parts of the attachment. The filler plug can not be unscrewed if you have a syringe with which new oil can be poured through the level control holes;
    • remove the mudguard of the motor shield;
    • unscrew the level control plug;
    • unscrew the drain plugs;

    • wait for the old transmission fluid to drain and tighten the drain bolts;
    • using a watering can or syringe, fill in new grease (until it flows out of the control bolt hole);
    • unscrew the filter using the wrench. At the moment of unscrewing the plastic holder, it is necessary to create an emphasis with a screwdriver or other suitable object;
    • install a new filter element. Before installing the filter, fill it to the top with clean oil.

    After filling in the new fluid, tightening the control, filler bolts and installing the mudguard, the oil change in the Ford Focus 3 automatic transmission can be considered successfully completed.

    Oil change in Ford Focus 3 automatic transmission

    To achieve the full effect of an oil change, the following conditions are necessary:

    • the quality of the oil must be of the highest level and fully comply with the requirements of the manufacturer;
    • the technology for performing work on changing the oil must be performed in accordance with all the rules and requirements of the manufacturer.

    The spent material is drained along with impurities, and a new substance is poured in its place. During the technical procedure, it is necessary to replace the old filter with a new one, this will increase the efficiency of work. It should be remembered that for a gasoline and diesel engine there must be a separate filter.

    Independent replacement of the transmission mixture is possible with certain skills and experience in car maintenance. You can always contact the masters from the car service. But if you want to save money and have confidence in your own abilities, you can do everything yourself, especially since it is not very difficult. The work will need to be done carefully, as the liquid may spill onto the floor.

    What transmission fluid is suitable?

    When changing the oil in a Ford Focus 3 engine, use only the brand recommended by the manufacturer. The substance must be suitable for all basic parameters. For petrol Ford engines Focus needs a product marked WSS/M2C948/B-5W20, this requirement is met by Castrol Magnatec Professional E5W20. Alternatively, products with the WSS/M2C913/C-5W30 definition can be used. Lubricants from many manufacturers meet this parameter.

    The amount of the mixture will depend on the type of engine that is installed on the Ford Focus 3. For a 1.4 liter engine, 3.7 liters of transmission fluid will be needed, for 1.6 and 2.0 - 4.2 liters. Do not mix products of different brands, it is recommended to replace the lubricant completely.

    If a decision is made to change one type of liquid to another, it will be necessary to purchase a special flush. A good option is Mobil Special or Liqui Moly Motor Clean. Also, other products from trusted manufacturers are suitable.

    Self-replacement of motor fluid

    To perform the procedure, you will need to raise the car. This can be done with stands, jacks, or a viewing hole in the garage. In car services, they change the liquid using special pumps that pump it out. This is very convenient, because the used mixture does not spill. In garage conditions, the oil is drained into an empty container.
    Attention! The resulting liquid will be hot, so all actions must be performed carefully so as not to burn yourself.

    Key Rules for Updating Engine Lubricant

    What will be needed?

    1. Motor oil.
    2. Sealing ring. It will help solve the problem of leakage.
    3. Filter puller. Useful if you can't unscrew the filter.
    4. Empty container or old bucket.
    5. Latex gloves. Protect from the harmful effects of the mixture on the skin of the hands.
    6. Spanners.
    7. Watering can or funnel.

    Sequencing

    What lubricant to fill in PowerShift Ford Focus 3?

    For a Ford Focus 3 car with a diesel engine, the Ford WSS-M2C924-A is suitable, you will need about 8 liters.

    In the instructions for use, manufacturers indicate the recommended frequency of fluid updates. Other factors should be taken into account: intensity of use, weather conditions, season. Regulated frequency - after a run of every 50,000 km.

    Given that the PowerShift box is divided into two halves, the substance will drain out of the two holes. To update lubricating fluid in Ford Focus 3, you will need the following:

    • transmission fluid;
    • empty bucket of 10 liters;
    • sealant;
    • a set of hex keys;
    • watering can.

    How is the replacement of the spent substance in the automatic transmission carried out?

    Leakage of liquid from the control passage does not always mean that the required amount has been filled. The level can be checked in this way: when the spent mixture flows through the control hole, you need to start the engine and turn on all the positions of the selector in turn. Then add 200 g of liquid and see how much flows out through the "control". If 200 g has drained, it means that a sufficient level is filled. If less, repeat the procedure again.

    Attention, only TODAY!

    Transmission oil is a consumable that maintains the performance of the gearbox for a certain period. Oil change is carried out according to the regulations. It also takes into account various parameters for the compatibility of the oil with the gearbox. In addition, the volume of oil poured is no less important. The procedure for choosing and changing the oil does not take much time, and even an inexperienced motorist can handle this - for example, the average owner of a Ford Focus 3 foreign car. The information in this article will be relevant for owners of a popular car equipped with automatic transmission.

    Replacement frequency

    The third generation Ford Focus is equipped with a Powershift semi-automatic transmission, in which the transmission oil is designed for the entire service life.

    At least the manufacturer does not indicate the exact replacement schedule. In this regard, it is necessary to focus on the condition of the oil, since under the influence of negative factors, the liquid will sooner or later lose all its useful properties. An oil change will most likely be needed in special cases.

    Let's name some of them:

    • Exceeding speed, constant operation of the engine at high speeds, abrupt maneuvers
    • Variable climate - frosts are replaced by warming, or vice versa
    • Dust, dirt and slush on the roads, off-road

    Severe conditions will eventually make themselves felt, and at the most unexpected moment. The frequency of gearbox breakdowns due to bad oil is so unpredictable that it may soon require overhaul transmission. The only way out of this situation is to establish a specific replacement procedure yourself, and initially rely on it.

    For example, the replacement period can average 80 thousand kilometers - this is at best, and at worst, the regulations will have to be reduced to 60 thousand. The situation can become more complicated if the fault for the short life of the oil lies with the drivers themselves, who often violate traffic rules and exceed the speed limit, despite difficult weather conditions. But on the other hand, the car often has to be subjected, which can be explained by the difficult climate and poor-quality roads. In addition to more frequent replacement, Russian owners fluid volume should be checked regularly and its condition monitored.

    Checking the volume and condition of the oil

    The Powershift transmission in the Ford Focus 3 is maintenance-free and does not have a traditional dipstick. The only way to check the amount of oil left in the transmission is to place the machine on jack stands to gain access to the underside of the vehicle. It is not necessary to completely remove the oil pan. There are three holes on the gearbox housing - drain, filler and control. It is necessary to open the control hole, and make sure that the oil level is sufficient. If the oil drain is dry and no traces of oil are visible on it, then topping up is required. Topping up should be carried out until the moment when oil begins to appear or flow out of the control hole.

    Please note that adding oil alone will not be enough if consumable lost all his beneficial features, and is no longer able to protect the gearbox components from overheating, and provide them with good cooling. You can determine the unsuitability of the oil by three signs - by a specific smell (it can stink of burning), the presence of sediment and metal chips, as well as a change in color - from transparent to dark brown. All this clearly indicates that the oil is outdated and should not be mixed with new oil. In this case, you must first drain the old oil.

    Choosing oil for automatic transmission Ford Focus 3

    Before filling in a new fluid, you must once again make sure that it meets all the parameters described in the instruction manual. So, the manufacturer Ford advises to fill in only the original product with the designation WSS-M2C200-D2. This oil has optimal viscosity characteristics, is resistant to low temperatures and is designed for a long shelf life. As for the type of oil, only synthetics are suitable for the Ford Focus 3 “robot”. In extreme cases, you can fill in semi-synthetics, but only with high mileage.

    How much to fill

    The semi-automatic Powershift gearbox, which is equipped with the Ford Focus 3, holds about 2 liters of oil. So much fluid will enter during a complete replacement, that is, after the transmission is completely cleaned of old oil. This procedure is carried out using a flushing agent. Flushing is run throughout the gearbox with the engine running. Then the used liquid is drained, after which new oil is poured in full. If flushing is not performed, it will be possible to pour in no more than 1.6-1.7 liters of oil.

    Changing the oil in a Ford Focus 3 robot is the main scheduled maintenance procedure for a robotic box of this model. The 3rd generation Focus did not win market bestseller laurels unlike previous model, however, nevertheless, it was sold in quite impressive circulations. The reason for the decrease in demand was just the imperfect design of the robotic box, which is virtually uncontested on this car.

    When to change the oil in an automatic transmission Ford Focus 3 Powershift

    In accordance with the regulations for the ongoing maintenance of this model, a scheduled Powershift Ford Focus 3 oil change is made every 120,000 kilometers. Previously, such a procedure was completely absent from the list of necessary ones; it was believed that the transmission fluid was filled for the entire service life of the unit. And in practice, not everyone was able to achieve the declared unit resource of 150,000 kilometers without carrying out any work to eliminate emergency situations, and even more so without changing the oil.

    However, problems with the operation of the box that the owners had already on runs of 100-130 thousand kilometers forced the manufacturer to include this oil change procedure in the list of necessary work.

    At the same time, even an interval of 120,000 kilometers does not allow us to speak with confidence about an increase in reliability in the event of a replacement. Due to the specifics of the design, the box from Ford contains a large number of design flaws, which are reflected not only in comfortable ride, but also have a significant effect on reliability. So, the problem of overheating and failure of individual mechanical parts, and in some cases the electronic control unit along with the actuators, has not been resolved.

    Considering high mileage, transmission replacements practically do not fall under the warranty obligations of working with the box. That is why responsible car owners, in order to extend the life of the unit, at least to those declared by the manufacturer, significantly reduce the specified interval, changing the oil at least every 30-40 thousand kilometers. At the same time, regardless of the type of such a change, the oil filter with magnets also changes, since the formation excess metal shavings in the process of work is also included in the list of incurable "sores" of this box.

    Important! When purchasing materials for changing oil, transmission fluid directly and oil filter with magnets, it is necessary to carefully approach the issue of their authenticity. When ordering from an unofficial dealer, it is imperative to check the marking with the original one indicated on the website of the oil manufacturer. Otherwise, the robotic box will not be able to drive even several thousand kilometers, completely becoming unusable.

    What oil is in the box Powershift Ford Focus 3

    The vehicle manufacturer lists in the owner's manual the names of various brands that have been rigorously certified for their products to be used in conjunction with this robot. All of them comply with the ATF-IV standards, which regulates not only the composition and washing properties of the transmission fluid, but also temperature regime vehicle operation. In addition, there are 3 types of oils on the market among other manufacturers, among which the owner, at his discretion, can also choose necessary material for oil change:

    • Semi-synthetics are not very popular in these units, since their characteristics are significantly inferior to more modern synthetics with a small difference in cost. However, such a composition with the use of modern additives is quite rarely faked and has less fluidity, which makes it somewhat popular.
    • Minerals are practically not used in these models due to their mediocre cooling and washing properties, even taking into account the lowest cost. Such a material, due to the archaic composition, simply cannot provide the proper temperature regime in a modern unit, as well as prevent wear of mechanical parts as a result of friction. Accordingly, this type is the least popular.
    • Synthetics are the most popular type among all competitors, despite the high cost and a certain chance of acquiring a counterfeit product. In terms of its characteristics, it is much superior to competitors; it is these oils that are recommended by the manufacturer as use. It is produced using a large number of modern additives, which allows for a rather long time to maintain the basic properties, effectively wash the unit, preventing mechanical damage to the destruction of individual parts, and also maintain the optimum temperature of the box at high temperatures.

    The volume of oil in the robot Ford Focus 3

    The volume of the robotic box in this model is 5 liters. In comparison with other automatic units, this value is considered small, which comes from the specifics of the design of the robot - in fact, a mechanical box with several clutches and electronic block gear shift control. At the same time, the volume indicator in no way affects the reliability and resource of the box itself. The main condition is to maintain this level in a regulated state. In the process of changing the liquid in case of overflow and excess of the volume of the substance, it is necessary to drain the excess through the drain plug to the optimum value.

    Accordingly, for complete replacement with the replacement of the spent substance, about 9-10 liters of liquid will be required, while for a partial flood, about 3 liters. In the event of a shortage of material and underfilling to an optimal state, the manufacturer strongly does not recommend the operation of the car in order to avoid overheating, breakdowns of mechanical parts and errors in the electronic unit.

    The procedure for changing the oil in a Powershift Ford Focus 3 box with your own hands, with a certain tool and repair skills, does not seem to be particularly laborious. To carry out a complete replacement with the replacement of the spent substance, it is necessary:

    1. Raise the car on a lift and inspect for smudges and fogging of the body.
    2. Through the drain hole, begin to drain the waste material by gravity into a specially prepared container. This procedure will take approximately 2 hours.
    3. Open the box body to replace the oil filter and magnets, as well as remove the remnants of the used substance.
    4. Through the filler hole, which is located in the engine compartment, using a simple funnel, pour the substance to the level determined on the control plug.
    5. Check the operation of the unit with the engine running while standing still.
    6. Carry out the replacement procedure one more time with a complete drain of the substance and the filling of new material.

    A partial change consists in draining the waste material and in a simple topping up with opening the box to change the filter. Topping up must be done in accordance with the divisions on the control plug.

    Checking the oil level in the Ford Focus 3 robot box

    To check the level of transmission oil Ford Focus 3 Powershift, a special control plug is used. This part is located at the bottom of the housing next to the drain plug. To check the level, it is necessary to raise the car on a lift and, using special indicators, look at the current fluid level. In this case, the procedure must be carried out only on a warmed-up unit, since the transmission fluid naturally decreases to a “cold” one. Unlike a classic dipstick, when checking the level with a plug, it is impossible to assess the current state of the liquid itself and the presence of an excessive amount of metal chips. That is why, with each topping up or a complete change of fluid, it is necessary to replace the oil filter, which will require a partial opening of the body of the box itself.

    Conclusion

    As a result, changing the oil in the Ford Focus 3 robot seems to be the most important, due to the specifics of this unit, the procedure for maintaining its performance. Without reducing the interval to minimum values, this box is likely to require significant investment in repair work before reaching the established mileage of 150 thousand kilometers.
