This version of the sports crossover (Sports Activity Coupe or as SAC) debuted on June 6, 2014 and has sportier exterior design lines and a more luxurious interior than its predecessor.

The new generation X6 is assembled exclusively at the plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and the price of the car for Russia at the start of sales starts at 3,503,000 rubles.

Armed with stronger design lines and outstanding performance, the new BMW X6 F16 strengthens its position as a leading indicator of exclusive driving pleasure, as evidenced by the sales figures of the first generation X6 of approximately 250,000 units.

The F16 X6 design combines reliability, versatility and is available in several trim levels:

Also for the 2nd generation X6 there is a choice of 5 alloy wheel options, three 19-inch and two 20-inch.

19" light alloy wheels Y-spoke style 594 are supplied as standard on the xDrive35i, xDrive30d, xDrive40d. For the xDrive50i, Y-spoke style 595 is available as standard, and for the M50d - 19-inch Double-spoke style 623 M.

As standard, the crossover is equipped with bi-xenon headlights, brake energy regeneration and the xDrive all-wheel drive system.

Some interior cues are borrowed from, but overall the crossover's cabin has its own personality with plenty of space, a high seating position, high-quality finishes and luxurious furnishings. One of the highlights of the interior is the lighting in blue, white and orange.

As standard, the X6 comes with a three-spoke steering wheel, airbags for the driver and front passenger (including side airbags, head airbags for front and rear passengers), Dakota leather trim, an iDrive multimedia system with a 10.25-inch display, dual-zone climate control, automatic dimming rear view mirrors, automatic control tailgate and the ConnectedDrive driving safety package.

Folding the rear seats in a 40:20:40 ratio allows for increased volume luggage compartment from 580 to 1525 liters (which is 75 liters more than previous model(restyled E71))

Engines and modifications

At the beginning of the release of the new crossover, the car is equipped with five engines, of which 2 are gasoline and 3 are diesel.

The most powerful version of the F16 is with TwinPower Turbo petrol, developing a maximum power of 450 hp. and a torque of 650 Nm at 2000-4500 rpm, which allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.
The maximum speed of this model is 250 km/h, and thanks to the efficiency of EfficientDynamics technologies, the combined fuel consumption is 9.7 liters per 100 km. CO2 emissions are 225-227 g/km.

The second petrol version is the 6-cylinder crossover available from December 2014. Thanks to EfficientDynamics technology, the car's impressive performance figures are accompanied by moderate fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Thus, a 306-horsepower engine with a maximum torque of 400 Nm accelerates the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, and per 100 kilometers consumes an average of 8.5-8.6 liters of fuel, while CO2 emissions are 198-200 g/km.

The most powerful diesel version of the F16 is the M Performance TwinPower Turbo with impressive dynamics and amazing efficiency. This is due in no small part to the three-stage turbocharger with variable turbine geometry, which leads to lightning-fast responsiveness of the engine. High torque available even at low revs engine, especially wide range rpm Speaking in numbers, this power unit develops 381 hp. and 740 Nm of torque at 2000-3000 rpm. The diesel engine (this version available from December 2014) - N57, also boasts TwinPower Turbo technology, 313 horsepower and a maximum torque of 630 Nm thanks to twin turbocharging with variable turbine geometry. These figures allow you to reach 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, and thanks to the combination with Common Rail with direct injection, the average fuel consumption is 6.2-6.3 liters per 100 km.

The same, only with a volume of 3 liters makes it the most economical of all model range at the time of starting the car. The maximum engine power is 258 hp, the maximum torque is 560 Nm, which is quite enough to accelerate the crossover to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and consume an average of 6.0 liters per 100 km.

At the Moscow Motor Show, the second generation of the stunning BMW X6 F16 crossover 2018-2019 was shown to the public. This is a new luxury car with excellent appearance, excellent performance and a modern interior.

It is worth understanding that this expensive car and you can’t call it accessible. Before the show, no one knew anything about it, since that was the manufacturer's plan. Since the show has already taken place, our task is to fully understand all the changes.

Exterior


The appearance of the car has undergone major changes; it has become much more modern, more aggressive and attractive. A long hood with massive relief shapes is installed. Narrow lights with LED filling and signature angel eyes also appeared. The radiator grille is also made in the corporate style; it is all covered with chrome. The model's bumper is quite massive, it has fog lights, chrome inserts and air intakes.

The side of the X6 2018-2019 sports several deep stamping lines, both at the top and bottom. The wheel arch extensions are quite massive, plus there is a recessed line above the rear arch. There is also a chrome gill in front of the front arch. In addition, chrome is present as a glass edging.


At the rear we can see the so-called duck's nose, which is a trunk lid, which in turn forms a spoiler in its shape. Branded massive lights with LED filling are installed. The trunk lid at the bottom has a chrome insert. The massive bumper has reflectors, under which there is a huge plastic protection and the exhaust system pipes are already inserted into it.

Interior


The interior decoration is simply perfect, everything is done with the highest quality and using expensive materials. The front seats are leather upholstered, electrically adjustable and heated. There is adjustable lateral support and in general the seats are very comfortable. The back row has three seats, there is enough space there. It also uses leather as an upholstery material, there is a large armrest with cup holders, and there is also climate control in the back.


The steering column of the BMW X6 F16 2018-2019 is made in a sporty style, it is 3-spoke, trimmed in leather, has chrome inserts, gear shift paddles and a bunch of buttons for controlling the multimedia system. The instrument panel has analog gauges for the speedometer, tachometer, fuel level and oil temperature, and also has a large and very informative on-board computer in the middle.


The center console at the top has a 10.2-inch NBT multimedia system display. Below are the air deflectors, and below them is the familiar separate climate control unit. Below this we see a small block for switching radio stations, as well as a slot for CDs.

The tunnel that separates the driver and passenger has a niche with cup holders at the very beginning. Next we can see a small gearbox selector, to the left of which there are buttons for controlling the traction control and suspension modes. On the right is a large washer with buttons for controlling the multimedia system. Behind the gearshift knob there is an electronic parking brake and at the end we are greeted by a large armrest.


Also interesting is that entertainment system displays can be installed at the rear for an additional fee. Apart from this, there is also the option of an excellent music system that offers 16 speakers installed throughout the interior.

The luggage compartment here is simply excellent, its volume is 580 liters, and if you fold it down rear seats, then as a result you will get 1525 liters, which is decent.

The range of units of this model is very diverse; 2 petrol and 4 diesel engines are offered. They are all quite powerful and there are no problems in terms of dynamics.

A 3-liter turbocharged V6 35i is installed as the base. It produces 306 horsepower and 400 horsepower, which allows the crossover to reach the first hundred in 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h. Consumption is not small - 11 liters in the city and 7 liters on the highway.

Second gasoline engine The 50i is also turbocharged, its volume is 4.4 liters and it is already a V8. It produces 450 horsepower and 650 H*m of torque, and this is enough for the 2018-2019 BMW X6 F16 to accelerate to hundreds in 4.8 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 250 km/h. In quiet mode, it will consume at least 13 liters of AI-95.


Diesel turbocharged 3-liter inline 6-cylinder BMW engine X6 2018-2019:

  1. The first 30d produces 249 horses and 560 units of torque. With it, the model will accelerate to hundreds in almost 7 seconds, the maximum speed is 230 km/h. It is quite economical - 7 liters of diesel fuel in the city and 5 liters on the highway.
  2. The second one produces 258 horsepower with the same torque. This unit has the same dynamics and exactly the same consumption. It is not sold in our country.
  3. The third 40d engine produces 313 horsepower and 530 units of torque, this is enough for the car to accelerate to hundreds in 6 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h. I'm glad that it is more powerful, but consumes the same amount.
  4. The most powerful diesel engine is called M50d and it produces 381 horsepower and 740 units of torque. It takes 5.2 seconds to accelerate to a hundred, and the top speed is 250 km/h. The expense is the same.

The chassis is exactly the same as on the X5, it is a double-lever system at the front and an Integral V multi-link at the rear. The suspension is excellent, but for additional money it can be improved; you can install air suspension, adaptive shock absorbers or active stabilizers. Pneuma can maintain ground clearance regardless of the load in the cabin.

Yes, this car is expensive, but it's worth understanding what you're paying for. Firstly, the brand, and secondly the engines, design, interior, and all this costs a lot. Several trim levels are offered, but in terms of equipment they are practically the same; basically you pay for the engine.

Here's what each of these configurations will please you with; the basic one, by the way, costs 4,570,000 rubles:

In the end I would like to say that BMW car X6 F16 2018-2019 is gorgeous. They often say that it is for girls and X5 is for guys, but we disagree with this. If you like it, then take it. Motors have small problems in terms of reliability, but these problems exist on all models of the brand.

An excellent crossover, it is definitely worth the money. If you are thinking about buying this particular model, then you can safely buy it, because it will give you a lot of positive emotions. There are no shortcomings in it, except for the relatively weak reliability.
