The car copes with its task, carries from one place to another, did not break. Did convergence, pulled to the right from the first kilometers — 500r. I alerted the noise in the steering wheel, when turning the steering wheel to the right or left, an unpleasant sound, I thought marriage, as it turned out, the natural noise of the steering wheel or electric amplifier, I don’t know for sure. On the 124th, this was not the case, so I tensed up. I don’t like that the car doesn’t keep a straight line on the highway, it’s especially annoying when overtaking, road bumps make themselves felt.

I bought it with a mileage of 13 km, the seller said that the first oil change was 15000 km, the plant is supposedly improving, etc. Now it’s 5300, I changed the oil at 4800 (castrol 10 to 40 3l — 1250r and filter 150r). After the replacement, the motor began to work a little softer and seemed to accelerate a little better, not by much, but it felt like that. Gasoline consumption — the track, if you drive economically 5.8 liters per hundred, if normal 6.2-6.4 liters. City 11 -12 liters, average 7.7 liters - AI95. The engine of 106 horses is enough for overtaking, recently three adults went to another city and the air conditioner was on, it was interesting myself, the normal engine pulls the flight. The city also liked how it pulls on the bottoms with the included Conder. The headlights shine well at night, I’m a little used to the seats, the seat is of course too small, not long enough (height 174cm). I can't remember anything else, feel free to ask questions.

The machine is working. It is operated in the tail and mane. It was bought new from the guarantee immediately refused because to drive a Russian car to a dealer for MOT ripped off. Candles changed two or three times .. the engine is simple and reliable gasoline only 92 is not the best. It always starts on a cold one the second time, it starts up for two seconds, it stalls, the second time is normal. And the injectors were washed three more times (2500r) the injector twice (300r). Once I didn’t notice a curb in the grass, as a result, I bent the oil pan, the blow was so strong that I thought I wouldn’t go anywhere, thank God the crankcase withstood the ride to this day.

There were no problems for the last 8000 km. At the second thousand km. due to a factory defect, the starter was changed under warranty — it twisted every other time. No more complaints. Starts at -24 normally. Temperatures were simply not lower this winter. The stove heats up, ancient as a mammoth, the automatic transmission switches without jerking. Even when cold.. Amplifier amplifies. The bulbs are all original as well. The salon is warm. Automatic transmission in frost warms up for 2-3 km distance. Warming up, means that it starts to switch to 4th gear. Until the electronics warms up, it does not allow this to be done. Warming up the cabin (not glass, they thaw out much earlier) to a comfortable temperature of -20 degrees (today) in 10 minutes-15 minutes.

Consumption: in the city fell a little and now averages 11 liters per 100 km 92 gasoline. Outside the city on the highway at a speed of 120-130 km / h, about 7 liters. By the way, I switched to 9000 km on the 92nd. Before that lil 95th. Didn't notice any difference other than the price.

Firstly: a new car - as a used one, as a rule, requires repair, if you don’t take it from a friend. They stand in the yards and are serviced only when it is finally secured (it is no longer going).

  • Not a big and not a small car: I think it makes no sense to take less - you won’t take anything away, and it’s dangerous outside the city - and not a big one - you can drive and turn around in courtyards, near shops it is easy to park
  • There is an electric power steering, airbags and even air conditioning (at first I thought it was pampering, but I quickly got used to it, especially in the spring it’s already hot, and you won’t open the window - puddles and dirt)
  • Consumables are cheap - at the exit to the side of the road, I tore the rear left wheel (side cut). After the replacement, I drove into the store and bought a new tire for 1650 rubles. At work, colleagues said that it could be sealed for 1200 rubles. The choice is obvious.It's a pity, of course, 1650, but what to do
  • TO 1 - 3300 rubles

The purchase process went quite quickly - they killed only 1.5 hours in the cabin. They gave my wife tea and cake, I refused libations. I tried to knock out a gift for myself in the form of rugs or a radio tape recorder or signaling, at least something. Knocked out - skunk for 150 rubles! Grants are also sold without any marketing tricks, so the dealer does not indulge customers with gifts (they don’t buy Priora at all anymore). Inside, I bought a set of floor mats, including the trunk. In the amount of 1600 rubles. As always, there are 1-2 liters of fuel in the tank, 16 km on the odometer. Grant went to conquer Big world. The conquest began with a gas station, which we stopped in order not to dry out. Here I was waiting for the first surprise: the gas tank cap. It spins at first, then generally stops. Afraid of breaking something new car I thought to call the salon (to ask if I'm doing something wrong), then I changed my mind and decided to apply force. You need to press on the lid, moreover, with serious effort and rotate it with effort. It's really hard, I showed my wife - I couldn't unscrew it, even with both hands. I hope it develops. The mouth of the gas tank with traces of rust - I have never seen anything like it. The manufacturer recommends pouring 95, so we will pour. On the first kilometers of the way average consumption amounted to 16.5 liters. Today (after 100 km of run), the average consumption is 13.3 - the device is rolling.

First impressions. Some kind of emptiness on the instrument panel. I'm not used to buying cars that don't even have a radio. The front deflectors are simple and convenient, the shelf above the glove box is very functional - it can easily accommodate a small MP3 player with built-in speakers, which still functions as a multimedia system. There are coasters, which is cool. A good, deep glove compartment, but it has no backlight, which makes it similar to my Toyota glove compartment. It is convenient to read the instrument readings: the font is pleasant, the backlight in the dark is not annoying, the bortovik seems to be any information. It’s bad that it doesn’t show the temperature overboard and the temperature of the engine. Great stove, quiet and hot. The car heats up very quickly, I'm not comparing it with a diesel engine, but in general. The seats are normal, quite comfortable, the material is not easily soiled, it will be well cleaned, but for some reason the filler in the front passenger seat creaks, I think that over time it will change and pass. I read that the cigarette lighter socket is very short, and it is - the registrar plug sits very unreliably in it, which threatens with poor connection contact, I think everyone knows. When they put the signaling I will ask you to connect the registrar directly. An interesting point is that the power to the cigarette lighter is constantly supplied, even when the car is turned off and there is no key in the ignition. That is, you won’t be able to use the regik in the hang-and-forget mode - it threatens to discharge the battery. This pinsnet is not convenient. The people write that the power of the radio is the same. What caused such an electrical connection scheme, I do not understand. More about unprecedented solutions: the ignition lock does not have an ACC position. I don’t even know what to write about it, quiet horror and stupidity. I almost forgot! The steering wheel is crooked! VAZ has a problem with the rudders, apparently. On the prior, it is shifted to the center by 7 cm, that is, its axis does not coincide with the axis of the driver's seat. Whoever says that it is not so with him is either an idiot or a liar or an oblique one, it’s like that on all priors. My steering wheel is right, but when the steering wheel is set to zero, the wheels are turned slightly to the left. It's funny, it doesn't really interfere, they will eliminate it at the first MOT, while we're driving like that, it's not critical.

However, there were no other problems. Such a period at the service was explained that, although the engine is Priorovsky, the starter is different, because they were thrown to the other side of the engine due to the presence of an automatic transmission with it. The supplier is allegedly different, that's the problem with the delivery. However, they assured me that my problem was the only one. We will see. Nothing else interesting happened to the machine. I'm lying, it was ... Somehow in the morning, when the sun began to bake and it became warm in the cabin, a strong unpleasant smell appeared. I thought it was something with the air conditioner. Then he accidentally got into the trunk, and there a flask with a washer leaks …))) There are no other problems. Runs, drives. All winter in deep snow in the yards crawled perfectly. Clearance of 18 cm under protection clearly contributed to this.

Consumption: from the moment of purchase it has become less and continues to fall, however, it is another 7 liters (I have an automatic transmission) on the highway (speed 115, rpm 3000). The city is somewhat worse - 13.5 liters in traffic jams. Alas. Of the 13 km drive to work, half are traffic jams. Haven't tried kickdown. I'm waiting for the end of the run. Rutting: the machine is sensitive, but not critical.

Steering: power steering is clearly better, but compared with Solaris and RIO — no worse.

Yes, and casting. And winter tires as a gift, oddly enough quite decent. He left his native summer Kama for casting, and put the winter one on silver stamping. Purchase: picked up cars in the region of 420,000: Priora station wagon, Largus 5 seats, Grant with automatic transmission. Wrote as I would choose, for very accustomed to the universal body. Despite modern specifications, new engine, elevated system safety and rich equipment the car has drawbacks. You need to know and take them into account when purchasing a Lada Grant model.

As practice shows, any car has its weak points. Lada Granta is no exception. This brand of car is not ideal, and after a series of studies, its sores were identified, which eventually spoil the whole picture and become the cause frequent breakdown. Lights, electronics, thermostat

Taillights are the weak point. They sweat quickly and are poorly secured. There are large gaps on the side of the lamps, in which dust and dirt quickly accumulate. You will need to take action to remove it.

As for electronics, it became a disadvantage on the first cars of this model. Quite often, the ECU is flooded along the wiring harness. In addition, generator malfunctions occur. The problem lies in its bearings and belt.

In principle, the cooling system has no complaints. Problems appear only with the thermostat, and then not for all models. This sore is mainly characteristic of cars manufactured before 2012.

The above disadvantages are minor and relatively harmless. If we talk about the body, then this is a serious minus of the vehicle. The paint on it wears off quickly. First of all, we checked the compression: it was low and the same in all cylinders - about 10 bar. With such indicators, it is possible to delay the invasion of the engine. But when the candles were unscrewed, they noted that the threaded parts were pretty oily. And the velvety soot on the candles clearly indicated that the oil still gets into the cylinders.

There is nowhere to go - once again we remove the head of the block. The surface of the combustion chambers in the head is covered with a thick oil coating, and the piston of the third cylinder is completely washed with oil. Now it is clear where it goes.

The study of the surface of the cylinders was even more depressing. The mirror shows deep vertical marks around the entire circumference of the cylinder - as frequent as on a nail file. The third and fourth cylinders suffered more severely, the other two had small risks. But what could scratch the mirror like that? It is likely that fine sand or dust has entered the cylinders. When and what could happen is not clear. There are two options: the abrasive could get either when replacing candles, or through the air intake channel.

The diameter of the cylinders was measured with a caliper. Wear in the third and fourth exceeded 0.08 mm - this is along the tops of the same comb. And in the depressions, this figure is even more significant. Obviously, little blood don't get off.

Without removing the cylinder block from the car, they took out the pistons. The rings are not stuck, but are also streaked with risks. They walked along the grooves gnawed in the walls of the cylinder, and even compacted the cylinder well, which was confirmed by tolerable traction and compression. But it was obvious that further wear would progress rapidly. The side surfaces of the pistons are also scratched - for replacement.

Thus, our Grant, who had not reached the six-digit values ​​​​on the odometer, was waiting for us. The unit was dismantled and taken to the workshop of the old one - he took over all the measuring and plumbing work. And the cylinder block and crankshaft were given for machining to a specialized company. A few days later we took the engine completely ready for operation. It was not only brought back to life, but also finalized. In particular, pistons with grooves were installed - these do not meet with valves when the timing belt breaks.

By this run, the box was also capricious. She was crippled by an old disease of the VAZ front-wheel drive models: an unpleasant crunch when the second gear was engaged. We decided to take time for the box while the engine was removed, so as not to dismantle it twice. It turned out that all the details that affect the inclusion of the second gear are worn out in the trash. The first and second gear synchronizer clutch, as well as the driven gear and the second gear synchronizer, went under the replacement.

Cylinder block

At the same time, a new clutch kit was installed. Release bearing was completely dry and creaked in every way. He sawed through the petals of the basket, and the driven disk was worn out by more than two-thirds. By the way, when removing the box, a rare defect was found - turning the silent blocks of the extension in the front suspension arm. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the elastic came off the inner and outer bushings.

Looking back at Granta's life, we can conclude that a car designed and manufactured in Russia is still a kind of lottery. Take at least two main units that required major repairs - for most competitors, they require intervention much later. At the same time, the suspension worked quite stably for our Grants (we changed only two wheel bearings; by the way, this is also the case for Lada cars frequent malfunction) and steering. Electrical equipment sensors turned out to be unreliable - for example, they had to be replaced ABS sensors and clutch pedals.

The body is slowly starting to rot. Corrosion appeared on the inner surface of the doors, and not in the hemming area, but higher, under the seal. Went redzhet front fenders and sills. For modern machine, even though it survived five Moscow winters, again, it's too early. The salon, which at first looked like a small baby rattle, now sounds more and more like a maracas. It can be seen that a hundred thousand kilometers was not easy for the car.

At the 70‑thousand run on braking, the pedal began to “tremble”. Suspicion fell on the front brake discs. They were checked by measuring the axial runout - the preliminary diagnosis was confirmed. Perhaps the disks led after several intensive braking. The brake discs were replaced, of course, along with - the vibration disappeared.

At 73,000 km, periodic dips and jerks appeared at low speeds and lower gears. On city trips, especially during peak traffic jams, this was very annoying. In addition, the signal lit up on the instrument panel ruffled the nerves check engine. Diagnostics showed a "misfire" error. We checked the spark plugs, replaced the high-voltage wires, carefully examined the electrical wiring, tested the ignition module with the help of diagnostic equipment - everything is normal. However, the engine continued to twitch. While we were thinking what to do next, a miracle happened - the engine started to work smoothly again. And the disease never showed up again. Miracles...

Another one caught fire at 88,000 km control lamp reporting a fault with the ABS. The cause was quickly determined: the sensor wire on the rear wheel fell off. Moreover, this malfunction arose again - shortly before that, the sensor had already been repaired. Repair combined with replacement brake drums along with the pads: the old grinding noise when braking. Disassembly showed uneven wear. At the same time, the rear wheel bearing was replaced, which already had a fair amount of play.

The biggest trouble lay in wait for Grant at 89,900 km. More than a hundred kilometers from Moscow, the engine suddenly lost power and stalled, and attempts to start it were unsuccessful. On the rope, Lada proceeded to the technical center, where she received a disappointing verdict: a jammed water pump cut off the teeth on the timing belt, the phases shifted and the pistons met the valves. And after all, nothing foreshadowed trouble: the pump pulley did not play, there were no alarming noises and whistles, and the belt was changed at 75,000 km.

Dismantling the engine reassured me a little: only the valves were damaged. True, all eight. The pistons are intact, although there are marks on them from a sudden meeting. We can say that they cost little blood - I had to replace the valves, valve stem seals, engine gaskets, a pump and a timing belt with a roller. Spare parts lightened the pocket by about 8,000 rubles, and they did the work on their own - on the side, repairs would have cost another eight thousand.

Judging by the feedback on the Internet forums, we are far from the only ones with whom such a nuisance happened. And the culprit of a serious engine repair turned out to be, again, a failed water pump. We will try to figure out what the reason is and will tell about it in the next reports. And Grant is back in the ranks and continues to wind up the mileage.

LADA Granta) is a model that was developed in order to change the negative opinion of consumers about the products of the Russian auto industry. AvtoVAZ for a very long time did not dare to stop the production of its "legendary classic", which has been produced since the days of the USSR. However, time does not stand still, and a new model has come to replace it. Lada Granta was created on the same platform as Kalina, so they have many similar technical aspects. Some units migrated from. But how reliable the car turned out and whether it will be able to please the owners with good driving performance after 3 - 5 years of operation, now we will try to figure it out.

A bit of history.

In a difficult year for AvtoVAZ, 2008, in order to attract buyers, it was necessary to urgently create new model, while the cost of developing new technical solutions should have been minimal. Therefore, it was decided to develop new car on the platform previously produced Kalina. And already at the beginning of 2009, the first sketches appeared, on the basis of which it was decided to launch the Lada Granta project. It took AvtoVAZ designers more than two years to create a new car. In 2011, the first copies of the car rolled off the assembly line, and in the summer of 2012, versions with automatic transmission gears. At the beginning of 2013, a slight restyling was carried out, as a result of which the manual gearbox received a new shift mechanism and synchronizers - this provided a clearer and easier gear shift. In the same year, the production of a restyled version of the 16-valve 1.6 engine began, the power of which was increased from 98 to 106 horsepower.

Problem areas Lada Granta with mileage

Lada Granta was offered in three equipment options - these are "Standard", "Norma" and "Lux". Each of the configurations had its own type of engine, with the same volume of 1.6 liters, but different types and power. Poor configurations are equipped with 8-valve engines of 80 and 90 hp, and the luxury version of 16 valve engine 98 and 106 HP

The timing drive of all motors is driven by a belt, which is recommended to be changed at least once every 50,000 km. There were cases when, on an 8-valve engine, when the timing belt broke, the valves remained intact, and it was possible to do without expensive repairs, but such cases are rare, so you should not delay replacing the belt. But Lada Granta has a lot of small unpleasant surprises, such as oil leaks from under the cylinder head and oil seals. Basically, the 8-valve engine is very reliable and time-tested, and if an extra dozen horses under the hood is not so important to you, then it is better to prefer this particular engine. But the 16-valve engine is more capricious, expensive to maintain and repair.

Contrary to the opinion about the unreliability of VAZ engines, almost from the first days of operation, the reviews of the owners indicate the opposite. And if you rely on them, then we can conclude that the motors, with proper maintenance without repair, serve up to 120,000 km, then the compression begins to slowly deteriorate, and, accordingly, the power, and by 170 - 220 a replacement will be required piston group. By 100,000 km, oil seals begin to tan, as a result, oil consumption increases significantly.

Transmission

The main claims of the owners to mechanical box gears, not so much to its reliability, but to its operational characteristics. Most often, owners blame for constant rattling and screeching during gear changes, and as the speed increases, the box begins to vibrate. This set is complemented by a creak when you press the clutch pedal, there are several reasons for this creak - if the sound comes from the pedal itself, then most likely the reason is in the pedal mounting sleeve, and if from the motor side, then the tip leash creaks. This feature is treated with graphite grease.

The clutch does not last very long, an average of 50,000 km, and if you have to replace the clutch, then it is better to give preference to imported parts, as they are much more pleasant to use, although they are more expensive. So in wet weather, the transmission control unit often fails, this happens due to the fact that the unit is under the left wing, and moisture from under the wheels gets on the microcircuits. Lada Granta is not much different from previous cars produced at the AvtoVAZ plant. Stretching the suspension often helps to eliminate the reaching sounds, but unfortunately not for long. In addition, the suspension can hardly be called comfortable.

Salon Lada Granta is not the owner of the most sophisticated design and high-quality materials, and even in the most expensive configuration, vibration and noise isolation is of poor quality. But that's the problem with all cars in this price segment both Russian and European. In addition to squeaks in the cabin, owners often encounter minor troubles, such as a falling off ceiling light or a non-closing glove compartment.
