The oil volume in the Daewoo Nexia engine is 1.6. Daewoo Nexia engine: technical characteristics. Work order

There is a widespread opinion among drivers that if the car is clean, then it starts well and drives faster. And in order to prevent it from breaking, it is necessary to constantly monitor its technical condition. In this article we will talk in detail about such a procedure as changing motor oil for and 16 valves.

When replacing a motor lubricant mixture, you must take into account the mileage and time of its use in the engine. The characteristics of the lubricant deteriorate not only during the operation of the car, but also during its aging. If the vehicle is operated under difficult conditions, namely during frequent starts of a cold engine or frequent trips in a modern city, shift motor fluid must be carried out before the deadline specified in the instructions.

Getting ready for replacement

Motor lubricant in the engine Daewoo Nexia, no matter how many valves it has, it needs to be changed every 10,000 kilometers, but in our conditions this period should be halved, that is, after 5,000 kilometers. Also, when changing engine lubricant, it would not be superfluous to replace oil filter, no matter how many valves there are in the engine.

How much oil to pour?

On average, about 3.75 liters of oil will be required to change power unit for 8 valves and 16 valves. In a word, buy a four-liter canister at the store.

What kind of oil should I use?

The choice of lubricant brand is individual, there are no restrictions, and it is better to give preference to brands with a better reputation, but the oil must meet the following conditions:

  • quality level SC/CC or higher;
  • viscosity 5W-30, 10W-40, 15W-40.

Can also be used domestic oils, if they meet the requirements.

We are replacing

First of all, before a shift you need to make sure that Daewoo car Nexia stood on a flat horizontal surface. It is better to carry out work in a pit or overpass. If this is not possible, you will need to jack up the car, and all safety measures must be observed.

Instructions

  1. Open the hood lid.
  2. Unscrew and remove the filler cap to fill the oil.
  3. We remove the engine protection, if it is provided.
  4. Place a container under the drain plug.
  5. Carefully unscrew the plug.
  6. Drain the used oil.
  7. Unscrew the old filter element using a wrench.
  8. We wipe all parts and components with a rag.
  9. Lubricate the new ring with fresh grease.
  10. We install a new filter element, but you need to tighten it by hand; under no circumstances should you use a wrench.
  11. When the oil is filled, we install all the parts that had to be removed in their places.
  12. We start the engine.
  13. At this stage, you need to pay attention to the light bulb that controls the pressure. If the light goes out within 15-20 seconds, then everything is in order. If not, then you need to turn off the engine and find out the cause of the possible malfunction.
  14. Pay attention to the oil level. If it is above the maximum mark, then you need to drain a little, if it is below, you need to top up.
  15. Be sure to inspect the vehicle and the area underneath it. Make sure there is no oil leaking anywhere.

Inspect the drained oil. Its color should be uniform. If you notice sand or shavings, this is a serious cause for concern, as these are the first symptoms of engine problems.

There should be no circles of coolant on the surface of the drained lubricating mixture; the consistency of the oil should be thick and viscous.

Used grease must be properly disposed of. If oil stains appear in the place where you carried out repairs, be sure to fill them with sand.

Changing the oil in the Daewoo Nexia engine is one of important elements maintenance, the timely implementation of which is necessary for every owner to maintain his car in good condition. This car is deservedly popular among Russian car enthusiasts. To the main advantages declared by the manufacturer - quality and availability - we can safely add unpretentiousness and relatively inexpensive cost of car maintenance.

The oil in the Daewoo Nexia engine needs to be changed every six months or every 10,000 km.

How often is replacement necessary?

The frequency of such replacement must be strictly observed in accordance with the regulations and recommendations of the manufacturer under the current operating conditions of the vehicle. Thus, the recommended interval for Daewoo Nexia is every 10,000 km or 6 months of operation. However, for difficult conditions, these intervals should be halved - 5000 km or 3 months, respectively. Factors that determine such conditions include starting the engine at sub-zero temperatures and operating in city traffic jams (frequent stops and driving at low speeds).

Level check

When operating a car, it is necessary to monitor the engine oil level, since both excess and insufficient quantity can lead to serious problems.

So, too much oil contributes to the appearance of soot. And if the oil level drops below the minimum level, malfunctions in the engine may occur, including failure. Checking its level is very simple - you need to place the car on a flat surface and wait for the engine to cool. Next, take out the oil dipstick, remove the oil with a clean, dry cloth, lower it all the way into place and perform a visual inspection of it.

Normally, the liquid level should be between the min and max marks. If necessary, top up must be done, and the oil must be the same that was poured into the system during the last change. The normal level of consumption is up to 0.6 liters per 100 liters of fuel consumed according to the manufacturer. Even if the level is normal, but a visual inspection reveals contamination or foreign impurities in its composition, then it needs to be replaced. After checking, you need to insert the dipstick into place, pressing it all the way. Otherwise, oil may splash out when driving, and its contact with hot parts of the engine may lead to ignition and fire.

Which engine oil is suitable for Daewoo Nexia? The answer to this question must be found in the vehicle's operating manual, in the section on fluids recommended by the manufacturer. During service official dealer You will most likely be offered one of the recommended oils, the manufacturer of which the dealer cooperates with. If you are serviced at a regular service station or want to replace it yourself, you can choose any of the recommended motor oils. The main thing with this choice is not to make a mistake by choosing the right one for the conditions in which the car is operated.

For Daewoo Nexia, SAE 5W-30, SAE 10W-40, SAE 15W-40 are recommended. All of them, according to the international classification, belong to the so-called all-season oils, that is, they can be used all year round. The number before the letter W indicates the viscosity of the oil in winter conditions, and the lower it is, the easier it is to start the engine in the cold season. The numbers after W refer to summer period and denote the viscosity at high temperatures. The higher they are, the greater the viscosity of the oil in summer, which means that the car engine is lubricated more reliably and efficiently.

When choosing engine oil, you should rely on the Daewoo manufacturer's specifications. As for the brand, it is inappropriate to provide any lists here due to constantly changing manufacturer tolerances in this area.

Work order

The procedure for changing the oil in a Daewoo Nexia engine is simple and can be carried out either at specialized service stations or, if the necessary skills are available, by the owner himself.

This process includes directly changing the oil, as well as replacing the oil filter. Regardless of the number of valves in the engine - 8 (SOHC) or 16 (DOHC), the volume required for an oil change will be 3.75 liters, so it will be enough to purchase a 4-liter can of oil.

To carry out replacement work, the car is placed on a lift, or you can use an inspection pit or overpass. If there is crankcase protection, remove it.

First of all, the oil filter is removed with a special tool; it is located on the front side of the cylinder block.

Next, using a regular spanner wrench with a diameter of 19, unscrew the drain plug located in the crankcase pan, and drain the old oil into a previously prepared container. The container is installed as close as possible to the stopper to avoid splashing. It will take about 1 hour to completely remove old oil from the system. When installing the drain plug, the sealing copper washer is also replaced.

The gasket of the new oil filter must be lubricated with oil when installed on the fitting. The filter is screwed on by hand approximately 3/4 of a turn.

Oil is filled through the oil filler neck. Exactly 3.75 liters should enter the system: this means that all work was carried out correctly and the old oil was completely removed from the engine. A control check using a dipstick is mandatory - the level should be closer to the max mark. If necessary, add oil. After starting the engine warning lamp The oil pressure indicator should go out within 4-5 s, this is a sign of the tightness of the system and the correctness of the work performed.

Used oil must be thoroughly inspected, and if it contains foreign bodies You should carefully monitor engine operation, as this may be a sign of engine malfunction.

Under normal vehicle operating conditions, mainly on country roads, the engine oil must be changed after 10,000 km. If the car is operated in heavy city traffic, is used to tow a trailer, or the car engine often runs at high speed for a long time idle speed, then the engine oil will have to be changed more often. The manufacturer recommends doing this after 5,000 km.

Always change the oil filter when changing engine oil.

Write down the oil change date, total mileage car and the brand of oil being filled. This will significantly reduce further maintenance costs.

Many commercially available oils are not compatible. If it is not known what kind of oil was poured into the engine, then when changing the oil it is better to flush the oil system.

Difficulty level: 2.
Running time: 1 hour.
Special tool:

Oil filter puller.

Warning:

The car engine, especially the exhaust system parts, and the drained oil are hot. Use caution to avoid burns. Used engine oil is a chemically active carcinogen. Try to avoid getting oil on exposed skin. Before starting work, lubricate your hands with protective cream. Immediately after completing the work, wash your hands with a special detergent and plenty of warm water. It is not recommended to wash your hands with gasoline or other solvents.

1. Before changing the oil, warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.

2. We securely install the car on an inspection hole or overpass (see “Standard operations”).

3. Place a container to drain the oil under the engine oil pan. To reduce oil splashing, place the container on a reliable stand closer to the engine.

4. Using a 19 mm spanner, unscrew the drain plug of the engine oil pan.

5. Be careful not to lose the copper sealing washer of the plug.

6. Remove the engine oil filler cap.

7. Drain the oil for at least 10 minutes.

8. Wipe the drain plug and install a new sealing washer on it (if available). Screw the plug "by hand" into the oil drain hole. Tighten the plug with a 19 mm spanner and a final tightening torque of 45 Nm.

9. We move the container for draining the oil under the oil filter and, using a special puller, unscrew the oil filter.

10. Carefully wipe the mating surface of the filter sealing ring on the engine crankcase.

11. Lubricate the sealing ring of the new oil filter with fresh engine oil.

12. Screw the oil filter along the threads of the fitting until the sealing ring touches the mating surface of the cylinder block.

13. Using your hands, without using any tools, tighten the filter approximately 3/4 of a turn.

14. Carefully wipe the surface around the oil filter and drain plug.

15. Pour 3.75 liters of oil into a measuring canister.

16. Pour oil from a measuring can into the engine oil filler neck and close the oil filler neck.

17. Start the engine and make sure that there is no oil leakage at the point of contact of the oil filter with the cylinder block and through the seal of the drain plug.

18. Check the oil level in the engine crankcase.

If in a Daewoo Nexia 1.5 engine the oil on the dipstick is exactly in the middle between min and max (that is, the 1.0 mark), then how many liters in volume does this come out to? Tell me please!

Good afternoon. We have studied the technical documentation for your vehicle and are ready to provide an answer.

How many liters of oil does Nexia need?

In the case of traditional Daewoo Nexia cars, the volume of lubricant filled into the engine is 3.8 liters. This applies to those cars whose internal combustion engines have not been modified or replaced.

In particular, we are talking about:

  • engines with a volume of 1.5 and 1.5 16V (that is, both eight- and sixteen-valve units);
  • production of these vehicles carried out between 1995 and 2008;
  • unit power in horsepower is 17 and 90 hp.

If your car is newer, we recommend that you contact your dealer or technician to get the answer to this question. In the service book this information is indicated in the appropriate section.

Additionally, if you want to know the answer to this question in practice, then you can follow these steps:

  1. Warm up the engine to operating temperature and drive it into the pit. You can also use an overpass, the main thing is that the work is not carried out on the ground.
  2. Prepare a five-liter canister, like those used to sell regular purified water.
  3. Climb under the bottom of your Nexia and find the plug for draining the lubricating fluid, that is, engine oil. Place a canister under it.
  4. Unscrew the plug using a suitable wrench. The process of draining the waste from the system will begin. Since the consumable will still be hot at this stage, we recommend that you wear gloves. Secure the canister, because you will have to wait a while until all the “working off” is drained.
  5. Wait about 40 minutes, maybe one hour until it's finished consumables will not log out of the system completely. Then, having a five-liter plastic bottle partially filled with lubricant, in practice you can easily calculate the total volume of the substance; this should not cause problems.

Video “How to change engine oil in Nexia”

You can learn more about how to replace the lubricant in a Daewoo Nexia car from the video below.

Choosing motor oil by brand is somewhat reminiscent of psychotherapy sessions. The result is greatly influenced by the patient’s faith in healing. It's about the same with oils. There are fans of Rolf oils, there are adherents of Lukoil, there are supporters of Shell or Mobil. Let’s find out what the manufacturer thinks about this and which oil is best for the Daewoo Nexia right now.

The manufacturer does not say a word about the brands that produce the oils, providing complete freedom choice for Nexia owners.

The only thing the factory advises is to comply with the viscosity specifications of the oil. Viscosity will be determined in accordance with climatic conditions and average engine loads. The requirements are simple:

  1. The oil can be either synthetic or semi-synthetic. The use of mineral oils is highly discouraged.
  2. According to the API standard, the oil must be of a class not lower than SM/CF .
  3. Oil with viscosity SAE 5W-30 should only be used at temperatures below 20 degrees below zero.
  4. In the average climate zone, it is recommended to use oils with a viscosity 5W-40 or 5W-50 .
  5. In the southern regions it is better to use oil 5W-50, 10W-40, 10W-50 .

Table for selecting the required engine oil viscosity.

Oil volumes in engines 8 and 16 valves

For both 8 and 16 valve 1.5 liter engines, the oil volume is approximately the same - 3.8 liters.

In 1.6 liter 16 valve the engine is being flooded 150-200 g more .

Replacement timing

Standard oil change intervals for all engines are 10,000 km or one year of operation.

It is worth considering that if the car most of time, this does not in any way affect the timing of the oil change. The lubricant oxidizes, ages and loses its quality even when the engine is not running. If the operating conditions are harsh and the load on the engine is high, the mileage before replacement is reduced to 5-7 thousand km.

Choosing engine oil for Daewoo Nexia

All oils are good unless they are fake. And it's true.

What oil manufacturers write on the labels.

Even good mineral oil You can safely use it in the summer - there are guaranteed to be no leaks, there will be no problems with pressure, and mineral water is much cheaper than synthetic oils. Only if it is of guaranteed quality.

Semi-synthetic oils also have a right to life. Flood synthetics into a worn out engine- a waste of money. This oil is very fluid and will quickly find a place to leak out. And the pressure will suffer. The only case when it is unconditionally required synthetic oil- extreme low temperatures. In this case, the engine will start better in the cold, and it will be possible to comply with the factory recommendations for nominal viscosity. Let our wallet dictate the brand of oil.
