This decision made it possible to modernize the model range, reduce production costs, reduce the range of spare parts due to unification and, as a result, increase the total market share from 13 to 16 percent. Also, in a short period of time, a joint production of hydraulic cylinders was created with Palfinger, which officially started in August 2014. The joint venture is located on the NEFAZ site and completely covers the needs of KAMAZ and the Palfinger group in Russia. The plant’s plans include supplying hydraulic cylinders to the open market, especially since domestic consumers are not at all spoiled by high-quality hydraulics. Also in cooperation, but with the Bell company, the Neftekamsk plant is trying itself in the production of heavy mining dump trucks, namely bodies (one such car is already passing through field tests). The prospect is still to produce our own modern axles, but this is a short-term prospect. Various co-production options are currently being considered.
The launch of the main conveyor of the NEFAZ plant took place on October 11, 1977, and since 1993 the enterprise has been transformed into the open joint-stock company Neftekamsk Automobile Plant. Since 2001, a quality management system has been implemented and certified in accordance with the requirements international standard ISO 9001:2000. After which, from 2001 to 2013, the product was the winner of the All-Russian Program - the “100 best products Russia." Procurement production fell under global modernization: laser complexes, pipe bending and sheet metal bending machines, and plasma metal cutting installations were introduced. Cutting of aluminum blanks for tank shells is carried out on a German CNC machine from Maiko. The cutting accuracy reaches up to 0.1 mm, and without the detrimental effect of temperature on the cut surface, which subsequently has a positive effect on the welding process. German plasma cutting machines Messer are also used in blank production. Bottoms and shells for welding are assembled using equipment designed and manufactured by NEFAZ and Ing GRIMM.
Swedish automated welding systems have been introduced into the welding shops, the advantages of which are a radical improvement in the quality of welding of dump truck sides and a reduction in the labor intensity of the work by more than half. In the production of tanks, automatic complexes for welding internal and external circumferential seams are also used. A new production site for tanks made of aluminum alloys was launched. The basis of the welding capacity is equipment from ESS (Germany), which repeatedly eliminates the possibility of the formation of defects in the weld.
For example, welding of circumferential seams of tank bodies is carried out using automatic welding units with program control. When performing operations with tank bodies, German semi-automatic welding machines from Cloos are used.
