What is the consumption of 2 liters of focus? Real fuel consumption on the Ford Focus III based on reviews from car owners. Reviews from motorists about consumption

Most likely, the Ford Focus is the most popular car not only in our country, but throughout the world. The model has been produced since 1998 in sedan, hatchback and station wagon bodies. Also, a huge variety of different motors are installed on it, so everyone can choose what they see fit. Now the third generation of the car is being produced, and before that there were restylings of previous versions.

Focus 1

The 1st generation Ford Focus came with four gasoline engines and one diesel engine. The first to open the line was a 1.4 liter engine. It could develop a power of 74 Horse power. Fuel consumption per 100 km was 6.7 liters. The next power plant is 1.6 liters, which could already produce 100 hp. This configuration had much better dynamic performance, and its gasoline consumption was only 6.9 liters.

Next came the configuration with a 1.8 liter engine. Here the peak power was 115 horsepower. Here the consumption has increased to 7.7 liters. Well, a 2-liter engine completes the line. With a power of 130 horsepower, it had increased consumption, which according to the passport was already 8.7 liters. Absolutely all engines were injection-based and had 16 valves.

The buyer everywhere could choose one of two possible transmissions: an automatic, which had four steps, or a five-speed manual.
There was only one diesel engine - 1.8 liters, but it could produce different power, which depended on some modifications. The figures were as follows: 75 hp, 90 hp. and 116 hp This engine in all versions was also injection, however, there were already eight valves. Both transmissions are also present. Fuel consumption varied from 5.2 liters to 5.6 liters.

“When I urgently needed a car, I had a choice - an old foreign car or something from our automobile industry. I chose the first generation Ford Focus because I don’t trust Ladas at all. The car is not bad at all even for our time. The interior is spacious and comfortable, with everything needed to provide maximum comfort to the driver. The build quality is also immediately noticeable. The car is 15 years old and is in almost perfect condition. Of course, it couldn’t be done without proper care of the car, but not everyone can live that long even with excellent care. The engine is powerful, shows good acceleration, and doesn’t consume much fuel. My average consumption is about 10 liters,” wrote Denis from Petrozavodsk.

“For trips to the country, I bought myself a restyled first-generation Focus station wagon. The first year I drove great, I had no troubles at all. But a little later the car began to break down quite often, always in completely different places. I've already spent a lot of money on repairs. It seems to me that you could have already bought another car. It’s a shame that this happened, because I really liked the model, especially the interior. It is very convenient and comfortable here, and there is enough space for any cargo. I think I’ll sell my car, save up a little and buy a Focus from the new generations. I read reviews that there are fewer problems with them. As for consumption, I spent only 9 liters,” writes Nikolai from Penza.

Focus 2

In 2004, the 2nd generation Focus began to be produced. In addition to the design, there were changes to the engines. They remained the same in volume, but acquired several versions. Also, the diesel range has expanded to three representatives. In 2008, the model underwent restyling, but nothing was changed except the appearance.
The 1.4-liter gasoline engine's power was increased to 80 horsepower. It is now paired only with a manual transmission, which has five operating modes. Consumption has decreased slightly - now it is 6.5 liters. The engine, whose volume is 1.6 liters, has two options: 100 hp. and 115 hp In the first case, it comes with a four-speed automatic transmission, and in the second, with a five-speed manual. The consumption is also different. For the first option it reaches 7.4 liters, however, for the second it is only 6.7 liters.

The 1.8-liter unit has 125 horsepower, and just like the first engine, it comes only with a manual transmission. It consumes up to 7.1 liters of fuel. The lineup is completed, as usual, by a two-liter engine. Its power is the same for both automatic and manual and equals 145 horsepower. But consumption varies from 7.2 to 8.1 liters.

All of these engines, except the first one, also have diesel versions. The first produces power of 90 or 109 horsepower and consumes from 4.4 to 4.7 liters of fuel. The power of the next one is 116 hp, and the consumption is 5.4 liters. The top of the range is a two-liter unit with a capacity of 136 horsepower. It consumed up to 5.7 liters of diesel. All units came only with a manual transmission.

“The car is definitely worth the money. I took it after using a BMW, which I bought out of stupidity. Yes, Focus is not so powerful, but it does not break. The interior is quite tolerable; for the average user you couldn’t imagine anything better. The car drives excellent both in the city and on the highway. It also handles well and holds the road. A huge number of built-in technologies help with this. What I like is the fuel consumption, which does not exceed 8 liters,” wrote Konstantin from Ufa.

“I bought a car from an ad and stupidly searched for what was in good condition. I came across an advertisement for the sale of Focus 2. I always liked it, so I went to look at it. Over several years of use, the car has not lost a single percent of its condition. It also drives and steers great, but the most obvious advantage for me is the consumption indicator. My norm is 7 liters,” these are the words of Kirill from Chelyabinsk.

“I drove the car from Germany, testing it in various conditions along the way. Everything went perfectly, so I didn’t doubt my choice at all. There is absolutely nothing better on the track. Very comfortable and convenient to ride. At the same time, the car also consumes fuel to a minimum. It turns out no more than 7 liters,” wrote Oleg from Moscow.

Focus 3

In 2010, production of the 3rd generation Focus was launched. Still, a lot of attention is paid to the appearance, and after restyling in 2014 it became truly stylish and even sporty. As for the technical part, the car has acquired new versions of engines, as well as a new transmission.

The youngest representative of the gasoline range is now a liter engine with 100 or 125 horsepower. Paired with a manual transmission, which has now become a six-speed, it consumes only 5 liters of fuel. Also new is a one and a half liter unit. Its power is 150 or 182 horsepower. It could be equipped with both an automatic and a manual, which are also six-speed. Fuel consumption here is already 6.1 liters.

The 1.6-liter engine has three configurations: 85 hp, which comes only with a manual transmission, 105 hp. on all transmissions and 125 hp, also with two transmission options. The consumption rate varies from 5.9 to 6.4 liters. The series is also completed by a two-liter engine with a constant power of 150 hp. It is equipped only with a manual transmission, and consumes up to 6.8 liters of gasoline.

Again, all of these engines, except the first one, could be diesel. The one and a half liter configuration has 95 or 120 horses, comes with two types of transmission, and consumes from 3.8 to 4.1 liters of fuel. The 1.6 engine has powers of 95 and 115 hp. It is only matched by a manual transmission, but it already consumes up to 4.6 liters of diesel. The two-liter engine has the same power as the gasoline version, but can also be equipped with an automatic transmission. Here the consumption rate varies from 4.1 to 4.9 liters.

“I took New Focus because of the design. He's very stylish. As it turns out, the car itself is not bad either. I like the way she drives, and my wife only says positive words about her. But what impresses us most is the consumption figure. There are few places where you can find a value of 6 liters,” wrote Roman from Yekaterinburg.

“The car was given as a wedding gift. It was love at first sight, and I’m not talking about my wife now. Looking at her appearance, you can forgive any mistakes in technology, which, as it turns out, don’t even exist. All in all, a dream car for those who want a simple car for everyday use. The icing on the cake is the expense, which is strictly passport,” writes Grigory from St. Petersburg.

“I finally waited for the release of the Focus restyling. I'm already tired of driving my junk. I bought a new product and forgot about all the problems. I drive every day and enjoy the comfort and silence in the cabin. Thanks to the powerful engine, you can also enjoy acceleration, especially on the highway. I was surprised by the fuel consumption. The engine consumes no more than 6 liters,” wrote Stanislav from Krasnodar.

Ford Focus is a compact city car produced since 1998. Since the mid-2000s, the model has occupied a leading position in sales among competitors on Russian market, and in 2010 Focus became the best-selling foreign car in our country. In the European market, Ford Focus is among the TOP 10 best-selling cars. The car is available in sedan, hatchback and station wagon body styles. There is a “charged” modification RS, which was created to compete with Skoda Octavia RS and Mazda 3 MPS. Today, the third generation of Ford Focus is being produced.

Ford Focus owner reviews

Generation 1

With 1.6 engine

  • Alexey, Nizhny Novgorod region. This is my first car, the 2000 version, before restyling. A good and comfortable car. Stylish design, unusual front panel in the cabin, comfortable seats and a spacious interior. Large trunk, good handling and omnivorous suspension. The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 100 horsepower. It was the most popular engine with such a displacement, which is why I took this particular modification. Focus consumes 9-10 liters maximum and supports 95 gasoline.
  • Irkutsk, Vologda region. Comfortable car, very reliable. I remember the manufacturer allowed maintenance every 20 thousand km, not earlier - this is a record compared to competitors. This fact just confirms the high endurance of Focus. Version 1.6 consumes 9 liters on average.
  • Kirill, Novosibirsk. Ideal car for every day, I have the basic version. The Ford Focus is worth the investment. The 1.6 engine with mechanics consumes a maximum of 11 liters, the maximum speed is 180 km/h. I liked the car, I'm going to buy a new generation Focus.

With 1.8 engine

  • Sergey, Yaroslavl. The car is from 2001, equipped with a 1.8-liter gasoline engine and an automatic transmission. This is an average configuration, the interior has necessary set options that suit even the undemanding owner. The interior is decorated simply and uncomplicated. Although, of course, the spectacular style cannot be taken away from Focus - this has always been its signature feature. The car is equipped with an automatic transmission, which pleases with its quick shifts, which is very convenient in the city and on the highway. Average consumption is 10-11 liters.
  • Alexey, Moscow region. My husband gave me the Focus, and the bastard himself moved to a brand new Toyota Corolla. But to be honest, I forced him myself, and I didn’t regret it. I liked the car, although it’s not new – the odometer shows 170 thousand km. I just want to drive around the city with a consumption of 10 liters per hundred. There is an automatic transmission, and under the hood there is a 1.8-liter engine.
  • Oleg, Ulyanovsk. The car is from 1999, I still drive it. The 1.8-liter engine is dynamic and economical, consuming an average of 10-11 liters.
  • Nina, Yekaterinburg. Model year 2000 car, with automatic transmission and a 1.8 engine. Quite a dynamic car, accelerates to the first hundred in 11 seconds, and the top speed is about 200 km/h. Of course, these indicators can only be achieved on the highway, and even in the urban cycle the Focus sets you up for fast driving. An excellently tuned chassis, in the city the car consumes 10 liters of 95 gasoline.

With 1.8 engine

  • Denis, Tomsk. I'm happy with the car, a car for all occasions. I praise Focus for its rational suspension tuning, which is optimized for all types of roads - from smooth roads to country roads and rocks. I installed high-profile tires, since I often have to drive in conditions where there are no roads. The 1.8 engine is a naturally aspirated petrol engine, a time-tested unit. Consumes an average of 10-12 liters per hundred.
  • Tatyana, Novosibirsk. My Focus will soon be 18 years old, but the car is holding up well. I chose not to change the car, it will go to the children, it will be their first car. We have to think about the future. The car is comfortable and powerful, with a 1.8 engine it consumes 12 liters.
  • Elena, Kursk. My Focus is equipped with a 1.8-liter engine and an automatic transmission, a dynamic car, and at the same time comfortable, with a soft suspension and effective brakes. It steers beautifully and absorbs all the bumps. Consumption 10-11 liters.
  • Yuri, Dnepropetrovsk. The car was produced in 2001 and currently has 170 thousand km on it. Focus impressed me from the first day of the trip, I drive it and have no complaints. It doesn’t bother you with breakdowns, but it tempts you with its dynamic handling. Despite my age, my Focus is still capable of a lot. The Focus is equipped with a 1.8-liter internal combustion engine, gasoline consumption in the city is on average 11 liters. The car is satisfactory, reliability is good high level.

With 2.0 engine

  • Nikolay, Cheboksary. Focus 2001, bought on the secondary market. A great car for every day, I drive it and don’t complain. Reliability at a high level. It is clear that the previous owner regularly monitored the condition of his swallow, but now she is mine, and I will continue to caress her. The car is equipped with a 2-liter engine. Aspirated gasoline consumes an average of 10-11 liters per hundred, which suits me. I installed HBO, and now I am doubly happy. Expenses mainly go only for maintenance.
  • Yuri, Ekaterinoslavl. The car is worth the money, I have a version with a 2.0 engine and an automatic transmission. Gasoline engine - with a good reserve of traction and notorious dynamics throughout the entire speed range. In the city it consumes 10-12 liters per hundred, on the highway it consumes no more than 10 liters.
  • Vasily, Sverdlovsk. My Focus with 2.0 engine and mechanics, good car on every day. The maximum speed is under 200 km/h, the gearbox reveals the full potential of the engine. Perhaps the best car for the money, average gasoline consumption is 11 liters.
  • Nikita, St. Petersburg. I'm happy with the car, the car seems to be designed for daily trips both around the city and over long distances. Long service intervals between maintenance, high reliability and playful handling. The interior is assembled flawlessly, there are no complaints about the quality of materials, adjusted for age, of course. I have a Focus with a 2-liter engine, it consumes no more than 12 liters.

Generation 2

With engine 1.6 manual transmission

  • Volodya, Nizhny Novgorod region. I liked the car, at least in most respects. For example, I will note a comfortable driving position, high-quality materials, a front panel with a solid design and many functions and buttons. You can also pay attention to the effective brakes and excellent handling, sharp steering – these are undeniable advantages. With a 1.6 engine and a manual Focus, my Focus consumes no more than 10 liters in the urban cycle.
  • Diana, Pyatigorsk. The car is good, no doubt about it. With the Focus, my husband and I often go out to look at countryside landscapes, and we are also fans of long-distance travel. The car never broke down majorly on the road. The car is serviced only by officials. Average gasoline consumption per 100 km is 10 liters with a manual transmission.
  • Marina, Lipetsk. The ideal car for every day, this car with a lot of positive impressions. I'm delighted with the way it drives. The focus amazed me in one word. With a 1.6 engine and manual transmission it consumes 9 liters.
  • Rinat, Stavropol region. The car is fire, everyone probably dreams of owning it. I am a person with principles, I look askance at state employees. But with the Focus it was a rare case when I really liked the car. Consumes 10-11 liters per 100 km.
  • Alexander, Donetsk. The car gives a lot of driving pleasure, and hardly anyone will argue with this - at least among those who actually owned this car. The Ford Focus is a versatile car, practical and handles well in the city. The elastic suspension does not shock you with rigidity, but at the same time it does not cause large rolls in sharp turns - a kind of compromise between handling and comfort. This rarely happens with competitors. A 1.6 engine consumes an average of 9-10 liters.
  • Igor, Rostov. I have owned a Ford Focus since 2011, the car was restyled. The car was just leaving the assembly line, and it was replaced by the next Focus. I could have waited, but I couldn’t bear it anymore. And even after so many years, I do not regret the choice I made. My Focus is a full-fledged C-class sedan, it consumes an average of 11 liters/100 km.

With engine 1.6 automatic transmission

  • Mikhail, Dnepropetrovsk. With a car like this there's nothing to complain about. An ideal option for the city, the car is quite satisfactory, equipped with a 1.6-liter engine, as in the basic version. But instead of a manual transmission there is an automatic transmission, fast and precise. Consumes an average of 10-11 liters per hundred. Comfortable interior, powerful brakes. The car is undemanding to operate and does not bother me with breakdowns - unlike my former Priora, whose frequency of repairs is simply unpredictable. In general, Focus is a good name for a car - everyone is attracted to it. The 1.6 engine with automatic transmission consumes no more than 8 liters on the highway.
  • Sergey, Saratov. The car was produced in 2005, equipped with an automatic transmission and a 1.6-liter engine. The engine produces 100 horses, which is more than enough for urban and suburban needs. A universal car for every day, it hardly bothers you with breakdowns. It is clear that the car was created for people - he sat down and drove off, without any dancing with a tambourine. Average consumption is 10 liters per hundred.
  • Ekaterina, Slavyansk (Donetsk region, Ukraine). A great car for every day, I praise it for its omnivorous suspension and powerful 1.6-liter engine. Its 100 horsepower is enough for 200 km/h, average consumption is 10 liters.
  • Vladislav, Perm. A groovy car that makes me happy every day. I travel often, and the Focus is with me all the time. In general, I will say that the car is worth the money, it is not for nothing that it is the best-selling model in the secondary market. My version with a 1.6 engine and automatic transmission consumes 10 liters.
  • Anatoly, Vorkuta. The car impresses with its smooth ride and perfect handling. The 1.6-liter engine is a nice little, time-tested naturally aspirated gasoline engine. The engine is quite capable of accelerating my Focus to 200 km/h, and this is not the limit. In short, there is enough dynamics. Gasoline consumption per hundred is 10-11 liters. There is an automatic transmission.
  • Oleg, St. Petersburg. I'm happy with the car, nothing creaks or rattles in the Focus like in my former Opel Astra 2004. A Focus with a 1.6 engine consumes no more than 10 liters per hundred, even with a thoughtful automatic transmission.

With 1.8 petrol engine

  • Boris, Kirovsk. A universal car, for 24 hours a day. I liked the car, I’m not going to buy the new generation yet, although there is such a possibility. With a 1.8 engine it consumes an average of 11 liters, the dynamics are decent.
  • Yaroslav, Novosibirsk. Ford Focus - A car for all types of roads, it looks stylish and drives dynamically. The 1.8 engine quickly accelerates the car to the first hundred, and the maximum speed is 200 km/h. Gasoline consumption is 11 liters/100 km.
  • Mikhail, Nizhny Novgorod. An excellent car for everyday travel and long-distance travel. A fast and agile car for every day, with a 1.6 engine consumes 10 liters.
  • Nikolay, Tomsk. A reliable and comfortable city car, I liked it. There are minor damages, but general impression purely positive. I have had a Focus since 2006, it is equipped with a 1.8-liter engine that provides a consumption of 10-12 liters per 100 km. I'm generally a frugal person, and I try not to exceed average engine speeds. Thanks to this, in the city you can meet 8-9 liters, but this is when there are no traffic jams at all.
  • Evgeniy, Smolensk. The car performs all the tasks I set, and if anything, you can fold the backs of the rear seats, and then you can transport some long luggage. By the way, the first Renault Logan does not have such a function, but oh well. My Focus consumes 10-11 liters per hundred.
  • Nadezhda, Bryansk. Ford Focus is a 2008 car, the mileage currently exceeds 130 thousand km. Of course, I only serve from officials, it’s not VAZ’s penny. You won't be able to tinker with the Focus, it has difficult maintainability and you need special equipment. The 1.8-liter engine is dynamic and reliable, consumes 10 l/100 km.

With 1.8 diesel engine

  • Oleg, Sverdlovsk. The car is worthy of the most detailed consideration; I have a version with a 1.8 diesel engine. the engine consumes only 8 liters in the urban cycle. I work in a taxi, and at this job, and Focus reveals all its advantages. Comfortable interior, advanced equipment for a C-class car, energy-intensive suspension, powerful and high-torque diesel engine. In general, I am more than satisfied with the car. Acceleration to hundreds in 13 seconds, which is generally not bad for a taxi.
  • Vladislav, Moscow region. My Ford Focus has traveled 170 thousand km and is holding up well. The warranty has long expired, but I continue to service the car at the dealership. There are original spare parts, and in the end there is no scam. Reliable car, consumes 8 liters with a 1.8 liter diesel engine.
  • Alexey, Yaroslavl. I have had a Focus since 2006, it is equipped with an automatic 1.8-liter diesel engine. Consumes 6-7 liters per hundred kilometers, this is an excellent result compared to competitors. I drive at low and medium speeds, and due to this, the best fuel efficiency is achieved. The Focus has no acceleration potential, but it has a good supply of thrust at all speeds.

With 2.0 manual transmission engine

  • Dmitry, Vorkuta. I bought a Focus on a supported market. A car with a 2.0 engine and manual transmission consumes 10-11 liters. The dynamics are sufficient for a compact car. It reaches at least 200 km/h easily.
  • Nina, Perm. I've owned a Ford Focus for over ten years. The car is from 2006, with a manual transmission and a 2.0 engine. Top version, with all the options of that time. Everything is still working, average consumption is 11-12 liters/100 km.
  • Svetlana, Kyiv. An excellent car for those who do not want to change their car often. Focus has unsurpassed potential; in terms of reliability, Focus has no analogues. As proof, I can cite the fact that I serviced the car no earlier than every 20 thousand km. Competitors need 15 or 10 thousand. My Focus with a 1.8 engine and manual consumes from 10 liters.
  • Nikita, Bryansk. This car is worth the money, unlike its competitors. A wonderful car, equipped with a two-liter engine and manual transmission. The gasoline engine is powerful and can save fuel; in the urban cycle you can achieve 12 liters. I made the right choice. The gearbox is capable of unlocking the full potential of the engine. I also praise the perfectly tuned chassis, just right for our roads.
  • Olga, Irkutsk. My Focus is equipped with a 2.0 engine and consumes an average of 11 liters per hundred. I have a classic 4-door sedan, with a quality interior and spacious trunk. The rear seat is a bit cramped, and this is the weakest link in the Focus. The rest of the car is ideal.
  • Alexey, Nizhny Novgorod region. Dynamic and comfortable, with an impenetrable chassis. Here it is, my first foreign car. Before the Focus I drove a VAZ-2107, it can’t be compared with a Ford. I have a two-liter version, it consumes no more than 12 liters, regardless of the city or highway.

With engine 2.0 automatic transmission

  • Andrey, Kaliningrad. As a car for every day, the Focus suits me. There are no complaints about dynamics and reliability, as well as about efficiency. The 2.0 engine works with an automatic transmission, and in the city it consumes 11 liters per hundred.
  • Oleg, Chelyabinsk. I liked the car, and for a 2007 model my Focus drives very well. It doesn't bother you with breakdowns and is still capable of overtaking like in the good old days. The 2.0 engine still has potential; its average consumption is 12 liters per hundred.
  • Pavel, Moscow region. Ford Focus is a car for all needs, a practical and solid car. In the city and on the highway it consumes from 10 to 12 liters. Under the hood is a 1.8 engine and automatic transmission.
  • Konstantin, Peter. I have a Ford Focus in the top-end configuration, with a two-liter engine and an automatic transmission. The engine consumes 12 liters per hundred, and this is the maximum. At this rate, you can rush out of traffic lights, overtake trucks and cut off road users. Of course, I’m not so arrogant, and on the contrary, I try to save money. At medium and low speeds a minimum of 9 liters comes out.
  • Mikhail, Lipetsk. A decent car for daily driving, I like the Focus. Equipped with an automatic transmission and a 2.0 engine. It consumes an average of 10-12 liters in the urban cycle, and about 9 liters on the highway.
  • Larisa, Dnepropetrovsk. Car from my husband, 2007 version. I have owned a Focus since 2010, now the mileage is 180 thousand km. I serve from the officials. The car is reliable and economical, with a 2.0 engine and automatic transmission it consumes a maximum of 12 liters per hundred.

Generation 3

With engine 1.6 105 l. With.

  • Artem, Novosibirsk. The car is from 2015, the latest generation. I praise the Focus for its stylish design, the front is reminiscent of Aston Martin sports cars. Under the hood is a 105-horsepower gasoline engine, acceleration to hundreds in 11 seconds. The car consumes 10 liters per 100 km. The Focus has acceleration potential, and the car gives a lot of fun on the highway, despite its modest unit.
  • Irina, Peter. I'm happy with the car; compared to its competitors, the Focus looks advantageous. And everyone will probably agree with me. The Aston Martin style grille is everything for me. A powerful 105-horsepower engine consumes an average of 8-10 liters.
  • Oleg, Kursk. A stylish four-door sedan, for daily trips around the city, for household needs and out-of-town adventures. Reliability is on par, consumption is 10 liters.
  • Vasily, Yaroslavl. Cool car, it amazes with its versatility and practicality, despite the sporty design and small ground clearance. The 1.6 engine consumes 8-9 liters, the engine works with a manual gearbox.
  • Alexander, Smolensk. Ford Focus is a best-selling car, at least it was. In Europe, this car is one of the leaders in sales among its competitors. In Russia, a car is already considered an outsider, with such and such prices. But I bought it anyway and I'm not complaining. I love Focuses, I had the first generation. A 1.6 engine consumes 9-10 liters. Comfortable interior, good handling and effective brakes, I liked it ABS operation and others electronic systems. I buy only original spare parts; for such a car I don’t mind anything.
  • Alexey, Bryansk. My Ford Focus was purchased in 2016, the car is a 2015 model year. I bought it on purpose at a discount, especially since the cars hardly differ in year of manufacture - I mean the list of innovations. Gasoline consumption per hundred is 9-10 liters with a 1.6 engine and manual transmission.
  • Dmitry, Petrozavodsk. A decent car, cooler than Renault Megane or Volkswagen Jetta. Stylish design, soft plastics and advanced equipment in the cabin. The 1.6 engine consumes no more than 8-9 liters, a very economical unit.

With engine 1.6 125 l. With.

  • Maxim, Sverdlovsk. I chose a package specifically for my needs, and eventually settled on the version with an automatic transmission and a 1.6-liter engine. The engine produces 125 horsepower, the automatic transmission works without visible delays. Overall not bad, I'm happy with the choice. Consumption 10-11 liters.
  • Igor, Rostov. A powerful car, balanced, and for every day. Focus doesn't get boring, I have a 1.6-liter 125-horsepower version. In the city it consumes 10-11 liters, but it really is necessary quality fuel and good oil.
  • Vladimir, Tver region. I'm happy with the car, it's a great car for my needs. And in the city, and on the highway, and along rural country roads - the suspension is set up perfectly, a kind of compromise between handling and comfort. The dynamics of the 1.6-liter engine pleased me, consumption was 10 liters per hundred.
  • Karina, Krasnodar region. I bought it with my husband. Ford Focus 2016, with a 1.6 engine producing 125 horsepower. The engine consumes 11 liters per hundred, acceleration time to hundreds takes less than 10 seconds. A fast car, perhaps one of the fastest among its competitors. The car is worthy of attention, it suits both me and my husband. On the highway you can keep within 10 liters. The engine is generally demanding on the quality of fuel, so you need to choose proven brands.
  • Vasily, Nikolaev. A comfortable and dynamic car that justifies the investment. Even though the price has risen with our ruble, I still bought it. I'm a big Focus fan, so I took the 1.6-liter manual version. There's plenty of dynamics, plenty of torque. Acceleration to hundreds takes 10 seconds - I tried it on the highway. Average consumption is 9-10 liters.
  • Oleg, Minsk. Focus 2016, with top-end equipment with a 1.6-liter engine. Consumes 10 liters. In terms of characteristics, the car is satisfactory, at least not worse than its rivals.
  • Anatoly, Saratov. Ford Focus in my version is a really fast car, equipped with a 1.6 engine and a power of 125 horses. Quite a decent motor, with good elasticity and perky dynamics. Consumes an average of 10 liters. It can come out to 11 liters if you pour it from the heart. Nadezhda, Kaliningrad. My husband bought me a car for my birthday, a nice gift for March 8th. I just started running it in, the first impression is that the car is flying away. The automatic transmission, 125-horsepower engine is dynamic and can save gasoline. Consumption 10 liters.

With 2.0 engine

  • Igor, Donetsk. I love the Ford brand, I had a first generation Fiesta. I decided to replace it with new Focus, and for this I had to go to Rostov. I was driving back home and at the same time I gave it a good run-in. My Focus has a 1.6-liter engine and automatic transmission. Consumption 10-11 l. In my opinion, this is the most optimal configuration. I like the car, I recommend it to everyone.
  • Vitaly, Nizhny Novgorod region. The Ford Focus is definitely better than the Volkswagen Jetta - a friend has one and had to drive it. Focus looks more stylish outside and inside, and at the same time does not lose in handling. The 1.6 engine is powerful, consumes 9-10 liters.
  • Alena, Lipetsk. The two-liter engine for the Ford Focus is the most powerful for this model. I have the top version, with all the options. I'm happy with the car, the Focus is equipped with an automatic transmission. The gearbox is decent, at least it doesn’t bother you with jerky shifts. Average consumption is 10-11 liters per 100 km. I liked the stylish interior, soft finishing materials and good sound insulation. I was choosing between the Volkswagen Jet and the Honda Civic, but in the end I settled on the Focus. This one is more balanced in dynamics, price and comfort.
  • Dmitriy, Saint Petersburg. I bought it in 2015, a version with a 1.6 engine and manual transmission. Peppy dynamics, effective brakes - just right for my bustling metropolis. I drive mainly in the city center, so these parameters are very important for me when choosing a car. Consumption 9-10 liters.
  • Oleg, Minsk. The car is balanced in terms of handling and comfort, and in my opinion, the 125-horsepower engine is more than enough for the Focus. It holds the maximum speed of 200 km/h confidently, the average consumption is 10-11 liters.
  • Larisa, Ryazan. I was advised a Focus with a 1.6 engine and manual transmission. For such a motor, it is precisely the mechanics that are needed to unleash all 125 horses. We could have looked at the automatic transmission if the engine had been more powerful. In general, mechanics are preferable for me in any case. Good sound insulation, decent handling, sharp steering, minimum number of revolutions from lock to lock. The 1.6-liter is the most popular displacement in the country, and in Russia this can be said to be a pattern. Therefore, I looked closely at this version, and I completely agree with those who recommended it to me. The 1.6 engine consumes from 10 to 11 liters.
  • Inna, Kazan. Decent car for the city and highway, a 1.6-liter engine is enough to accelerate to 200-210 km/h. The mechanics and engine are tuned for dynamic driving, I liked the elasticity of the engine. In the urban cycle I use 10 liters.
  • Alexander, Rostov. I bought the Focus new at a car dealership. With 1.6 engine and manual transmission. Acceleration to the first hundred in 10 seconds suits me. A reliable and practical car, adapted to the Russian climate. Consumes an average of 11 liters.

Ford's compact car hardly needs any introduction. One of the best-selling brands in Europe on the domestic car market found its fans back in 1999. Over half a million models were sold then. The model range has gone through 3 restylings over the years and is represented by three generations of cars with different versions of installed engines.

2nd generation Ford Focus 1.4 R4 16V 80 hp

Features of the package

In Russia, only 6 versions of engines of the second generation Ford Focus cars received the widest popularity. The first of these is a four-cylinder 1.4-liter engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. The maximum speed of 164 km per hour is reached in 14 seconds with a power of 80 hp. The declared gasoline consumption in the city is 8.7 liters, on the highway - almost 5.5 liters.

Gasoline consumption

  • Daniil, Moscow. I took a 2006 model for taxi work about six months ago. I don’t experience any problems, although the mileage on it has already been 100 thousand. An excellent workhorse with a moderate appetite for gasoline - no more than 9 liters in the city, taking into account traffic jams.
  • Andrey, Kyiv. After VAZ and Volga, I think it’s clear who wins. Injection engine works without any complaints. The first foreign car was a good experience - it never fails. 8 liters is enough for 100 km; I don’t drive at maximum speed.
  • Zoya, Kharkov. Our Ford is used only for trips outside the city, so its consumption is relatively small - about 5 liters. The 2009 model has already driven about 300 thousand, which is quite a lot for such a price.
  • Mikhail, Nizhny Novgorod. Where do people get this kind of expense? My monster under the hood eats up all 10.5-11.0 liters. Can air conditioning alone have such an effect on gluttony?
  • Denis, Irkutsk. I myself work at a service station, so I never have any problems with these Fords. I bought myself a used car from 2008. The only and huge minus is the weak but trouble-free engine, which gets around ten in the city.

2nd generation Ford Focus 1.6 R4 16V 100 hp MT+AT

Technical data

The 1.6-litre petrol engine is available with either an automatic or manual transmission. The difference lies in different maximum speeds (172 km per hour and 180 km per hour, respectively) with the same engine power of 100 hp, as well as different fuel consumption. In the city, the unit with MT burns 8.7 liters (automatic - 10.4), and on the highway - 5.5 liters (5.9 on AT).

Reviews from motorists about consumption

  • Evgeniy, Barnaul. I received a 2010 model as a gift. automatic transmission. I've already driven 47 thousand kilometers on it and I still don't regret the purchase. Reliability and convenience won us over, consumption in the city was 10 liters, on the highway it was never less than 5.
  • Nikolai, Zhimki. Inherited from my father a 2011 Restyle. A beautiful car with good data on a manual transmission. My wife and I still ride to this day. We have never come for serious maintenance, although the spare parts are not that expensive. Gasoline consumption is around 9 liters without air conditioning.
  • Antonina, Murmansk. The 2006 car was purchased 2 years ago. My husband went, now I do. What can I say, I would like something newer, but this is more a matter of taste. I fill up often, outside the city it takes about 6 liters.
  • Eduard, Moscow. I won’t buy it with an automatic transmission again - I fell for my wife’s persuasion. And so there are no questions at all for Ford; in 3 years there were only 4 maintenances. There could be less gasoline in the city - cars with more power also burn under 10.
  • Sergey, Tula. We bought the car for work. My father and I take turns taking taxis; the car is durable and has seen a lot. But so far I’m happy with everything – the budget Ford can withstand everything. A little gluttonous, but what can you do?

Owner reviews

  • Zakhar, Tambov. My wife and I bought a 2008 sedan on the cheap. Mileage 28 thousand, was repaired once. A powerful machine for the middle class, and the consumption is normal. If only she had an automatic transmission, it would be great.
  • Bogdan, Grozny. I got a Spanish assembly from 2008, I bought it for work - I need to travel a lot from city to city. On the highway it eats the required 5 liters, sometimes more, sometimes less - depending on the speed and air conditioning.
  • Alexey, Seversk. Please advise what to do - my consumption is about 10 liters all the time. A friend has the same FF2, but his is 9.0-9.5 at most. I don't want to sell the car because of this.
  • Svetlana, Odintsovo. We brought in a 2011 hatchback. The engine is good, not noisy. The only thing my husband always says is that he should have taken a 2-liter one, but this is not so important. I can’t say anything special about fuel consumption - I don’t pay attention to such trifles.
  • Anatoly, Lyubertsy. Quite a powerful unit for its price. There haven’t been any serious breakdowns yet, although I’ve driven about 50 thousand. We’ll see how it goes. And the consumption strictly according to the passport is 8.5 liters in the city.

Real indicators

  • Nikita, Vologda. I bought a 2007 model of Vsevolozhsk assembly from the previous owner. Ford is Ford and will always be Ford - best car as for me. A good engine allows you to drive on the track. Consumption in winter is 10 liters, in summer – one liter less.
  • Alexander, Murmansk. My dad gave me a 2009 Restyle with 13,000 miles. Great fast car. In the city it’s 11 liters with traffic jams and air conditioning, on the highway it’s 9 liters.
  • Vladimir, Krasnodar. An inexpensive car for family trips out of town - that’s the purpose for which they dug it. But now my wife and I take turns going wherever possible. There are no obvious disadvantages, in the city it consumes exactly 10 liters, on the highway - about 8.5.
  • Yuri, Tyumen. I bought it 3 years ago and am already selling it. Firstly, the engine is noisy, and secondly, there is not enough power. I skated 380 thousand - it’s time to update the garage. Consumption has always been within 11 liters per hundred.
  • Stanislav, Khabarovsk. My advice - just buy new! A year after the purchase, problems began with the suspension and transmission. At first I ate 9 liters, then all 11 without air conditioning.

  • Danila, Chelyabinsk. They gave us a restyled version of 2008 – a sedan with a manual transmission. I got into a serious accident, but the safety system saved both me and the passenger. This is the safest car. Consumption on the highway is about 6 liters on average.
  • Prokhor, Lipetsk. I work as a driver in this car - everything is fine, it runs smoothly, the automatic transmission is very convenient. I didn’t pay attention to fuel consumption - it’s not me who pays for gasoline.

Gasoline consumption

  • Denis, Kursk. A high-torque engine that is in no way inferior to its gasoline counterparts, especially in winter. Consumption on average is 5.5 liters in the combined cycle. Quite economical car.
  • Vadim, Vladivostok. We took it as a family car. There have been no problems so far - the main thing is to refuel with normal high-quality diesel fuel. It was for the latter reason that I ended up at the MOT for the first time. Consumption on the highway is 4.5 liters.
  • Innokenty, Moscow. I've been driving it for 2 years now, but I still haven't been able to get used to the vibrations and noise while the engine is warming up. This is its main disadvantage. Regarding consumption - 6.5 liters in the city saves a lot of money.
  • Igor, Rostov-on-Don. I wanted to take a gasoline one, but the choice fell on the diesel FF. And for good reason - low consumption and good power are the main advantages of this machine.

  • Stepan, Kaliningrad. I took the basic package, and I couldn’t be happier – although the car is not particularly powerful, its handling and reliability won me over. Consumption in the city is no more than 9 liters with Conder.
  • Victoria, Vologda. Gave it to my husband for his birthday. In my opinion, it is a little noisy, so they installed sound insulation on the hood. Now I'm enjoying it. I fill up often because I travel a lot. Gasoline consumes around 8.5 liters.
  • Andrey, Moscow. I purchased a 2012 model from a dealer. What can I say - for a taxi it is just right - the consumption is average, but the power is not at all like 85 horses, more like 105. In the city it consumes at least 9 liters, and outside the city - much less.
  • Victor, St. Petersburg. Bought 2012 and sold it a year later - Ford is not my thing, now I drive a Toyota. The only thing I liked about the Ford was its excellent gas mileage, but I just didn’t like it outside or inside, I don’t know why I bought it.
  • Alexander, Suzdal. I bought it and after 2 weeks for maintenance - the reverse gear does not work. I took it for trips out of town, it was spent around 4.5 liters, which is not that much. I have already driven 30 thousand kilometers, but there have been no more breakdowns.

I haven’t been to a service station yet; the first six months passed without any breakdowns. Gasoline on the highway consumes 4.5 liters. I thought there would be more.
  • Pavel, Voronezh. My wife and I decided to buy it after the wedding. An ordinary nice car for family driving. The only thing is that we eat a lot, about 10 liters without air conditioning. This is more compared to reviews from other owners and official information.
  • Bogdan, Belgorod. I got a manual Ford from my brother (he bought himself a Mazda). I liked the smoothness of gear shifting, stylish design and efficiency. I don’t fill up often, but the consumption of 8 liters in the city is quite satisfactory.
  • Vladimir, Alushta. I have a 2011 model, it has already been repaired twice. I will say one thing - repairing the focus has become very expensive today, so I decided to sell it. Gasoline consumption in mixed mode is 6.5 liters, but I really drive everywhere.
  • Ilya, Pskov. My father gave me a 2012 model for my birthday. I never thought that driving a car on the road could be so easy. I have an automatic transmission, consumption on the highway is 5 liters maximum with air conditioning, I rarely drive in the city.

Content

Launched in 1998, the compact car C-class Ford Focus is considered one of the most popular in its segment. It is offered in several body styles: three-door and five-door hatchback, station wagon and sedan and thanks to the wide range power units, can act both as a youth compact car and as a family car.

The first generation was produced from 1999 to 2005. In 2002, the model was restyled, which included improving the interior, making changes to the exterior, and installing a new TDCi engine.

Since 2004, the production of the second generation Ford Focus, based on the C1 platform, began. The main difference, in addition to the updated design, is the engines of the Duratec and Duratorq family, as well as completely new transmissions, including a preselective 6-speed robot. The 2008 restyling affected exclusively the appearance of the car - all the engines that were installed on the Ford Focus remained unchanged.

In 2010, the third generation Ford Focus, based on a single platform, was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show. New power units of the EcoBoost family, updated transmissions, an improved safety system and many modern options have made the new Ford Focus one of the most popular cars in its class. Since 2014, a restyled version has been produced, which has received a new branded nose with a radiator grille, improved electronics, as well as new power units.

Ford Focus 1st generation 1.6

Gasoline consumption for Ford Focus 1st generation is 1.6 per 100 km. Reviews

  • Andrey, Kemerovo. Ford Focus, 1.6MT, hatchback, 2003. I bought the car in 2010 with a mileage of 100 thousand km. Good condition, no breakdowns or accidents, only a couple of chips on the roof. During all this time, I only replaced the bearing in the right hub and that’s it, the rest is minor stuff. Gasoline consumption averages 6.5 l/100 km.
  • Eduard, Tomsk. Ford Focus 1st generation - bought in 2013, despite all the persuasion of friends. As experience has shown, it was in vain that I didn’t listen... Everything that could break was broken, I was consuming gasoline like crazy - in mixed mode, city 70% and highway 30%, fuel consumption was about 11 liters. Thank God that I managed to trick him and sell him, now I drive a Nissan Teana and I can’t be happier.
  • Evgeniy, Novokuznetsk. I bought a Ford Focus because the budget was sharply limited, and for 200 thousand it was impossible to get anything - except maybe a used Priora. At first, the consumption in the city was about 9 liters, the car pulled poorly, and even stalled when the fuel level was low. We washed the injectors and, lo and behold, the engine immediately came to life and, in addition, gasoline consumption dropped - now in the city it is no more than 7.5 liters, and on the highway it is 55-6.0 liters.
  • Konstantin, Tula. Focus FF1, station wagon, 1.6MT, 2003. Actually, at first I wanted to buy something domestic, but a friend of mine offered me her FF1 station wagon - just what I needed. There are additional options, the mileage at the time of purchase was almost 270 thousand km. I drive a lot both on the highway and in the city, so I calculate the consumption in mixed mode - I get about 8 liters per hundred square meters.
  • Roman, Chelyabinsk. Before Ford I drove a 9. I won’t say that there are strong differences in dynamics - in general, I think that the VAZ-2109 is one of the best domestic cars. Consumption is also approximately the same - on the highway about 6 liters, in the city up to 9 liters. But in terms of comfort, Ford is certainly much better.
  • Stanislav, Kaluga. I bought a car in 2010 - it was a Ford Focus in the Turnier (station wagon) version with a 1.6 liter engine and a manual gearbox. After a while, I had to play car mechanic, because in addition to the failure of all sorts of small things, the clutch and bearings in the hub were damaged, and in the end the engine began to triple and the consumption soared to almost 20 liters. I had to give the engine an overhaul - consumption then dropped to a maximum of 11 liters in the city, but I decided to sell the car out of harm's way.
  • Sergey, Novosibirsk. To be honest, the Focus is not mine, but my father’s, but we travel together, I even more so, since my dad only goes to the dacha in it. By the way, I took a car for her, so I didn’t listen to my persuasion and instead of a hatch or at least a sedan I took a station wagon - although I’m already used to it. We've owned it for six years now and haven't had any serious problems during that time. Consumption is also normal in the city, on average 10-11 liters.

Ford Focus 1st generation 1.8

For more expensive trim levels of the Ford Focus, 1.8-liter power units were offered. These were naturally aspirated gasoline engines developing a power of 115 hp. and a torque of 158 Nm and two turbodiesels - 90 hp. and 200 Nm and 115 hp. and 250 Nm respectively. All three engines were offered in any body style, but were available exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Fuel consumption Ford Focus 1st generation 1.8 per 100 km. Reviews

  • Sergey, Blagoveshchensk. Ford Focus 2003, 1.8 liter petrol engine, manual transmission, assembly - ours. After a destroyed BMW, taken out of ignorance, I had to change to something that breaks less easily - a Ford with a 1.8 liter engine was chosen. I won’t say that the car is ideal, but it’s worth the money and hasn’t given me any major headaches. The engine is powerful, but economical - the average consumption was about 9 liters in mixed mode.
  • Denis, Lipetsk. When choosing a car, I didn’t bother too much - the main thing was that it was in good condition and had a minimum of amenities such as air conditioning and heated seats. I found a good option - Focus 1 with a 1.8MT engine and produced in 2003. Immediately after the purchase, I carried out a full maintenance with the replacement of some components in the chassis. I still drive it, I’m happy with everything - comfort, cross-country ability and handling are excellent. Consumption is also small - in the city up to 11 liters, on the highway up to 7.5 liters.
  • Dmitry, Tomsk. In 2012, I bought a 2003 Ford Focus sedan for 230 thousand rubles, 1.8 engine and manual. I immediately invested almost 20 thousand into the car - after that I did nothing at all except replace the spark plugs, pump and maintenance. It is cheap and economical to maintain - gasoline consumption ranges from 6.5 liters on the highway to 10 liters in the city.
  • Grigory, Chelyabinsk. After my father’s Accent with an automatic transmission and an absolutely wild consumption of 15 liters in the city, my 2002 Ford (with a 1.8 liter engine, by the way, and not 1.5 like the Accent), is generally super economical - on average I spend almost 10 liters per 100 km, no more. At the same time, the dynamics are an order of magnitude better, yet the 1.8 liter engine is really felt. In general, I am completely satisfied with the car.
  • Victor, Tyumen. What I want to say is that the Ford Focus is an excellent work machine. That is, one that will be regularly transported to work, on errands, and so on every day. This is not a car for showing off or racing, although the engine power is enough to accelerate at traffic lights. I fill up with 92-grade gasoline, and on the highway the consumption is about 6.5 liters per hundred meters, in the city - up to 12 liters (well, this is in winter).
  • Mikhail, Minsk. I bought my Focus in Germany - the car was produced in 2002, in excellent condition. I took it already with a factory gas system, service books and a mileage of almost 200 thousand km. I drove it home, the consumption on the highway was about 6.5..7.0 liters of gas per hundred square meters, in the city up to 12 liters. I think I bought it very well and don’t plan to sell it yet.

Ford Focus 1st generation 2.0

The most powerful engine that was installed on the Ford Focus in the 1st generation is a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It was produced in two versions: with a power of 131 hp. and with a torque of 178 Nm and derated to 111 hp. and 170 Nm of torque. In both versions, the engine could be combined with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

There were also two versions of supercharged power units that were installed on the “charged” ST and RS trim levels. In the first case, the engine developed a power of 173 hp. and a torque of 265 Nm, and for the RS configuration a 265-horsepower engine was installed, producing a torque of 310 Nm. Both of these engines were equipped exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission developed specifically for them.

Reviews of fuel consumption Ford Focus 1st generation 2.0

  • Igor, Solikamsk. The car is great. Indestructible engine and gearbox, very good quality of interior trim (in subsequent generations it was actually worse, I compared it specifically), the dynamics are amazing for such a car. Consumption is certainly decent - in mixed mode about 10 liters, in the city 12-13, well, you need to take into account that the engine is 2 liters.
  • Sergey, Pskov. Ford Focus, 2.0AT, sedan, 2001 I bought it 2 years ago from a relative. Despite the mileage of 260 thousand, I took it with confidence because I knew that a relative was looking after the car. By the way, he immediately warned me about fuel consumption so that I wouldn’t delude myself - the engine is powerful, it consumes gasoline normally. In the city it comes out from 13 liters at quiet ride up to 16 liters in winter, on the highway - from 6 to 7.5 liters. Still, I think that for a 2-liter engine and an automatic transmission this is not so much.
  • Mikhail, Murmansk. A rocket, not a car. 138 mares for such a light body - and on the track the car really turns into a rocket. There is also a minus - at high speed you need to be careful, I ended up flying into a ditch, not fitting into the turn. At the same time, due to the low weight, it is enough economical consumption for such an engine - in the city it doesn’t get more than 12 liters, on the highway about 7 liters.
  • Maxim, Chelyabinsk. After reading reviews about the Focus, I firmly decided to buy one for myself. But if I had been careful, I would not have burst. I didn’t know that there are two types of engines - 111 and 138 horses. So I got the first option, Split Port 2.0. In addition to the fact that the engine's dynamics are not particularly better than the 1.6 liter, it is also unreliable - I had to do a complete overhaul. In terms of consumption - in the city up to 11 liters, on the highway about 6.5-7 liters.
  • Alexey, Samara. Ford Focus 1st generation, station wagon, 2.0AT, 2000. Gasoline consumption greatly depends on driving style. If I’m not in a hurry and I’m driving calmly, then in the city it’s an average of 10-11 liters, on the highway up to 100 km/h - generally 7.5 liters. But if you drown it, then naturally it will eat brutally - in the city it’s up to 16 liters, on the highway at a speed of 150 km/h it’s also about 15 liters. This is on 95 gasoline, on 92 it will probably be a little more.
  • Oleg, Kaliningrad. I spent almost a month looking for what I could buy for 250 rubles - they only offered all sorts of little boxes for frogs. Considering that I have two children, this was absolutely not okay. But one day I found a bright red Ford Focus, imported from the USA, with a 2-liter engine and an automatic transmission. We took it and drove it for 4 years until it crashed in an accident. In general, I was happy with everything, but there was one minus - with a gasoline consumption of 12-13 liters (up to 16 liters with an air conditioner), the tank is only 40 liters, which is really not enough.
  • Leonid, Vinnitsa. Focus, 2.0AT, 2000, SE package (the most destitute). Before that there was Matrix - compared to Ford it’s just a dull g..o. The engine has 138 horsepower, there is plenty of room inside, the automatic transmission really pulls out from under itself on kickdown, so the dynamics are excellent. In terms of consumption, I consider 11 liters in the city to be an excellent indicator for such an engine.

Ford Focus 2nd generation 1.4

As in the first and second generations of the Ford Focus, the base engine was a 1.4 liter unit. It was a 4-cylinder naturally aspirated Duratec, developing 80 hp. and a torque of 123 Nm. It was installed on all body styles and was paired with a classic 5-speed manual transmission.

Fuel consumption rate Ford Focus 2nd generation 1.4 per 100 km

  • Danila, Kyiv. We live near Kiev in a cottage village, so we mostly move along the highway. Gasoline consumption is only 5.5 l/100 km, but this is if you refuel AI-95. I bought it in 2009, the mileage is already more than 270 thousand km, but no problems so far.
  • Andrey, Kherson. I read a lot of reviews about the Focus, they write that the 1.4 liter engine has low consumption. Maybe - but in summer it’s really hot in Kherson, it’s impossible without air conditioning. So, if you turn it on, not only does the engine actually lose power, but also gasoline consumption increases to 11 liters in the city! On the other hand, in the fall I have no more than 7-8 liters.
  • Marina, Nizhny Novgorod. My husband insisted on buying a Ford. Despite the fact that the car is a 2008, there were no problems with it - my husband works in the service department, we do everything ourselves, and we didn’t have to do much, just little things. The only thing we don't like is the engine. It is weak for such a car and at the same time voracious - I don’t get less than 9 liters, my husband generally gets 10-11 liters.
  • Mikhail, Irkutsk. I work for Focus in the taxi service. I bought it about 10 months ago - the car was produced in 2006, with a 1.4MT engine. I try to drive economically, so I get about 9-9.5 liters per 100 km in the city, but I still think it’s too much - I need to change it to something more economical.
  • Denis, Moscow. The car is not bad, but not with this engine. It seems to be a small-volume engine, but gasoline consumption with a pensioner's driving style is 8 liters - this is without traffic jams. But on the other hand, there are no problems with the motor at all, it works well.

Ford Focus 2nd generation 1.6

Due to the insufficient power of the 1.4 liter engine, 1.6 liter petrol and diesel engines were more popular. The gasoline 4-cylinder naturally aspirated Duratec was presented in two versions - 101 and 115 hp. and was offered with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. The 90-horsepower Duratorq turbodiesel was coupled only with a 5-speed manual transmission, and for its forced version, 109 hp. In addition to the manual transmission, a continuously variable CVT was also available.

After restyling in 2008, the line of turbodiesels was left unchanged, with the exception that all of these engines were available only with a 5-speed manual. And as a gasoline engines began to be installed 100-horsepower Duratec SE and 115-horsepower Duratec Ti-VCT, available with a traditional 5-speed manual transmission.

Real reviews about fuel consumption of Ford Focus 2nd generation 1.6 per 100 km

  • Magomed, Grozny. I'm not happy with the car. Gasoline consumption is 10 liters, for the life of me, the service cannot figure out the reason. 1.6 liter engine with 115 horses, manual transmission. I regret that I took it - it’s very capricious; the previous versions before 2008 had a much better engine.
  • Bogdan, Seversk. Ford Focus, 1.6MT, 115 hp, 2010. Of all the 1.6 liter engines that I have come across, this is the most powerful. I read that these engines are very capricious, but for 60 thousand I have not had any problems yet. Fuel consumption is also reasonable - in the city no more than 8.5 liters per 100 km.
  • Alexey, Odintsovo. My Focus was delivered to me from Germany on order. Engine 1.6 liter, turbodiesel with CVT. A very powerful engine and at the same time economical - diesel fuel consumption in the city does not exceed 7 liters, on the highway you can generally invest 4.5 liters.
  • Alexandra, Solnechnogorsk. My husband bought me a Ford Focus 5 years ago. During all this time there were no serious problems at all. My engine has 100 horsepower, which is enough for me - the main thing is that the consumption is low. In the city I don’t get more than 8.5 liters, I practically don’t drive on the highway.
  • Alexey, Barnaul. Ford Focus 1.6MT, 2011, restyled. I got the car from my father - he sold it to me for almost nothing, but not because it was killed, but because of a family connection. It hasn’t been seriously repaired yet - all sorts of little things and maintenance. Consumption in the city is about 9 liters, with air conditioning up to 11 liters, on the highway about 6.5 liters.
  • Evgeniy, Murmansk. I have a Focus with an automatic transmission and a 115 horsepower engine, 2010. The engine is powerful, just right for an automatic – no brakes or gear changes, overtaking is brisk. Consumption is really high - about 10 liters in the city, about 6 on the highway.
  • Nikolay, Moscow. The car was bought as a taxi - my father and I take turns driving. Naturally, the most budget version was purchased, without any additional options or bells and whistles. But it is reliable and unpretentious, only the fuel consumption is high - up to 9 liters in the city (without traffic jams).
  • Anton, Tula. If it weren’t for my wife’s whining that she wanted to drive an automatic like all her friends, I would never have bought such a car in my life. But now my wife drives “like everyone else,” and I only spend money on gasoline - in the city it doesn’t work out to less than ten, my last Nissan with a 2-liter engine consumed 11, so it had a power of about 140 horses.
  • Eduard, Khimki. I work in Moscow, so my main driving mode is highway. 115 horses are enough for this. The consumption is low - it’s good that I didn’t fall for my wife’s persuasion and didn’t take an automatic, so I have 6 liters on the highway, and a maximum of 8.5 liters in the city.

Ford Focus 2nd generation 1.8

Before restyling in 2008, all 2nd generation Ford Focus cars were equipped with two versions of 1.8-liter power units - a naturally aspirated Duratec HE gasoline engine with 125 hp. and with a torque of 165 Nm and a Duratorq TDCi turbodiesel with 115 hp. and with a torque of 280 Nm. Both engines were equipped only with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Since 2008, only the turbodiesel remained in mass production, and instead of the 125-horsepower Duratec HE gasoline engine, a Flexfuel engine was installed. But versions with this engine were available only for Scandinavian countries.

Real fuel consumption Ford Focus 2nd generation 1.8

  • Victor, St. Petersburg. For work, I often have to travel around the city - I cover 200-300 km a day. That’s why I took a Ford Focus – I consider it a reliable and good car, with normal fuel consumption. So far I’m happy with everything, in the city I get about 10 liters of gasoline per 100 km - 125 horsepower engine, 2007.
  • Elena, Kharkov. After my husband bought himself an SUV, I was left with our old 2008 Focus. We bought it at the showroom - I asked for an automatic, but my husband insisted on a manual. The car is in good condition, there were no serious damages. Gasoline consumption is from 9 to 10 liters, depending on traffic jams.
  • Maxim, Chelyabinsk. I got into an accident a couple of times, but they were not serious. But in the Ford I flew hard - almost head-on, when one ram flew into the oncoming direction. Thank God, I didn’t skimp when buying and took maximum configuration, with airbags - they saved me. I’m not going to sell it - I’ll make repairs and continue driving it, because I really like the car - unpretentious, reliable and gas mileage is only 6 liters on the highway and 10 in the city.
  • Natalya, Kursk. After much deliberation, we chose a 2009 Ford Focus station wagon. My husband insisted on a diesel engine, I didn’t protest - I still don’t understand it. Consumption is generally low - on average 5-5.5 liters per 100 km, judging by on-board computer.
  • Denis, Vladivostok. Mostly everyone here drives Japanese cars, but for the amount I had, good model I couldn't find one with diesel. Therefore, I bought an American-made Ford Focus in 2008, with a 115-horsepower turbodiesel. A very good car - the engine is very powerful, works like a clock, and diesel fuel consumption in the city is no more than 7 liters.
  • Andrey, Tomsk. When choosing, I was guided by the following criteria - no older than 10 years, price 300 thousand rubles, manual transmission and engine no less than 1.6 liters. I took a 2007 Focus with a 1.8MT petrol engine - I’m completely satisfied. In quiet mode, consumption in the city is 9.8 liters, on the highway about 6.5 liters.
  • Edgar, Ufa. After the sale of Kalina, I chose between Corolla, Focus, Mazda and Octavia. I chose a Ford - firstly, it was the most reasonable price, and secondly, I found it in good condition - from a friend, with 83 thousand mileage and a 2008 model. The average consumption was 10 liters of gasoline, the engine is good, although many people complain about it.
  • Ivan, Tyumen. Ford Focus, 1.8MT, diesel, 2008. I bought it because of the diesel engine, as I was only considering diesel versions. The mileage at the time of purchase was 77 thousand - it seems like it was not twisted, since it was taken from the first owner. In the city, the consumption is about 7 liters, and I drive normally, and not like a pensioner. On the highway generally 4.1 liters per 100 km. The maximum amount that came out was 9 liters in winter, with frequent warm-ups.
  • Denis, Saransk. Focus 2, with a 115-horsepower diesel engine and a manual, 2008. After purchasing it in 2012, I drove it every day - the consumption was 8 maximum in the city. In terms of dynamics, by the way, a turbodiesel is better than a 2-liter gasoline - I compared it with my brother’s Ford. On the highway, the average consumption is 5 liters, but if you drive up to 170-180 km/h, it consumes quite a lot, at least 10-11 liters.
  • Sergey, Krivoy Rog. FF2 is a car for every day. There are no fake whistles (well, there is a cruise and an air conditioner), excellent handling and a good 1.8 liter engine. The advantage of the motor is that the timing belt has a chain drive, not a belt. The engine is not sharp, but picks up speed confidently, without strain. Consumption in the city is on average 8.2..9.0 liters. In general, from my own experience I will say that FF2 is better in this price category only Honda Civic.

Ford Focus 2nd generation 2.0

For top Ford trim levels Focus was offered with powerful 2.0 liter engines. Gasoline engines were represented by Duratec HE units, developing power of 130, 137, 145 and 147 hp, and the first two engines were equipped only with a 5-speed manual, for the second a 4-speed automatic was also available. Diesel engines were presented in two turbocharged versions with 135 and 136 hp, which also differed in the number of camshafts. A 6-speed manual transmission was offered for these engines.

After restyling in 2008, there was only one gasoline engine left - a 145-horsepower naturally aspirated engine, developing a torque of 185 Nm, available with the classic combination of 5-manual/4-automatic transmission. The diesel range of engines also changed - now there were 2 turbodiesels - 110 hp / 265 Nm and 136 hp / 320 Nm, and for the first engine only a 6-speed manual transmission was available, for the second a new one was also offered 6-speed automatic.

Reviews of fuel consumption of Ford Focus 2nd generation 2.0 per 100 km

  • Pavel, Solikamsk. The fuel consumption of my Ford Focus 2 is approximately 7 to 9.5 liters in the city. It depends on the driving style (I drive according to my mood), on city traffic (yes, yes, we have traffic jams too), and on the quality of the fuel (good diesel fuel is not so easy to find. Regarding consumption, I judge the consumption based on the flight attendant’s readings. I have a version with a 2.0MT diesel engine.
  • Alexey, Kiselevsk. Of course, I wanted to take a turbodiesel - I read a lot of reviews that it was very powerful and dynamic, and it was much better than even the gasoline versions. But the quality of our diesel fuel and the headaches from fuel repairs outweigh all these advantages, so I chose the 2009 gasoline Focus, with a 2.0-liter engine. By the way, I bought a new one at the dealership - the first problem appeared only at 100 thousand km and it was minor. Consumption is excellent - on the highway, if up to 100 km/h, then about 7.5-8.0 liters, in the city up to 13 liters.
  • Victor, St. Petersburg. I drive a service Focus. Of course, I don’t know why they took a 2-liter version for such a task if 1.6 liters would have been enough. Of course, I’m not worried about consumption, but it consumes a decent amount - at least 13 liters in the city, and even more if there are traffic jams.
  • Elena, Chelyabinsk. Previously, I didn’t pay much attention to what kind of engine we have in Ford - powerful and powerful. But when I got behind the wheel of my friend’s Corolla, I realized the difference – we just have a beast under the hood. At the same time, fuel consumption is only 8-9 liters in the city.
  • Denis, Balashikha. FF2 Restyle, with 2.0MT engine, 145 hp gasoline. Before it, I already had an FF1, and in principle I was happy with the car. The car is not for everybody – but that’s just what I like. What I like most is the engine - it is very reliable (well, if you don’t kill it with something special) and economical (if you drive quietly). In the city the consumption is 11 liters, on the highway - 7 liters. True, if you put your foot down on the pedal, these numbers immediately add a couple of liters.
  • Aram, Tomsk. Mechanical box was the main criterion when choosing Focus. I don’t perceive machine guns at all, that’s complete shit. Moreover, I like to drive, but with an automatic transmission, it’s clear that this doesn’t work. And here 145 mares take off like a rocket. Well, the consumption is accordingly - on the highway up to 10 (I don’t drive less than 130-140 km/h), city 13-14 liters.
  • Nikita, Novosibirsk. Ford Focus 2, petrol 2.0MT, sedan, 2006. I bought it on principle Russian assembly– Spanish, for example, is of the same quality, but at least ours are adapted to Russian realities. I bought it in 2011 - there were no serious breakdowns, and everything that broke actually broke due to its service life. Consumption in mixed mode is 9-10 liters - for a 145 hp engine. This is fine.
  • Kirill, Tyumen. Before the Focus, I drove a Volvo S40 - cars of the same class, but they differ like heaven and earth. It is clear that the Focus is from the budget segment, but the build quality is disgusting and the car itself is unreliable - it breaks down constantly. I would never move in my life if I didn’t need money. I drive aggressively - consumption is up to 16 liters in summer, in winter it’s generally 25 liters. I had this kind of consumption on my Pajero, because it had a more powerful engine and in general it was an SUV. Overall, the car sucks.
  • Vitaly, Dimitrovgrad. After selling my VAZ-21099 I switched to Focus. At first I was completely shocked, the difference was colossal. I really like everything - I even agree with the consumption of 12 liters in the city, since it still moved almost one hundred and fifty horses and two liters. There are some drawbacks, but they are minor – the suspension is a bit harsh and I would like a little more comfort.

Ford Focus 3 generation 1.5

After restyling in 2014 year Ford The Focus received a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine developing 150 hp. and a torque of 240 Nm. The engine is offered only in tandem with a 6-speed automatic transmission and is available for all body versions.

Fuel consumption rate Ford Focus 3rd generation 1.5 – reviews

  • Roman, Moscow. In general, there is a lot that can be said about the new Focus, but I will say briefly - an ordinary C-class car. The interior is a bit testy, not much has been thought through, but it has a very good and responsive engine and a reliable 6-speed automatic transmission, something that its main competitors cannot boast of. Well, the consumption - according to the on-board computer in my city is 9.2 liters - this is at an average speed of 30 km/h, traffic jams, gentlemen. As for me, this is normal.
  • Sergey, Novokuznetsk. In my opinion, this is one of the most adequate cars for the money. The dynamics are simply amazing - squeezing out 240 Nm from a one and a half liter engine is strong, it accelerates like a rocket. The downside is that I caught a small pebble and there was a crack all over the forehead. In terms of consumption - about 8 liters in the city, 5.5 liters on the highway.
  • Alexey, Krasnoyarsk. Ford Focus 1.5AT, petrol, 2015. I really like the car - compared to all previous versions, this one is really charged, because the new engine is more powerful than the 2-liter previous versions. I know, because before that I had an FF2 with a 2.0 engine.
  • Valery, Tomsk. I really like the car. Despite the fact that the automatic, it accelerates very quickly, and gasoline consumption is completely normal, as for a 150 horsepower engine - on the highway up to 6.5 liters (130 km/h), in the city about 8.0-8.5 liters.
  • Elena, St. Petersburg. I switched to the third Focus from the second model - I bought it back in 2008. I was pleased with the first car, but I am even more pleased with this one. The automatic has become much faster, the engine itself is very powerful, you press the gas and it literally pushes you into your seat. Consumption according to the on-board computer is from 7.5 to 8.4 liters, depending on traffic jams.

Ford Focus 3rd generation 1.6 (105)

The base engine for all Ford Focus after restyling in 2014 was the naturally aspirated petrol Duratec Ti-VCT with a volume of 1.6 liters. This four-cylinder naturally aspirated unit develops a power of 105 hp. and a torque of 150 Nm, installed on all body styles and paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a new 6-speed automatic.

Gasoline consumption for Ford Focus 3rd generation is 1.6 (105) per 100 km. Reviews

  • Anna, Voronezh. After my brother decided to buy himself an SUV, he suggested that we buy his 2014 Ford Focus. The car is practically new, in excellent condition - we naturally agreed. We've owned it for six months and are happy with everything - from the spacious interior (station wagon) to the consumption of 8 liters in the city.
  • Pavel, Belgorod. I bought FF3 in 2015 at a dealership. I’m very pleased with the consumption – in mixed mode city + highway it doesn’t exceed 6.5 liters. But after I had an accident, I was very unpleasantly surprised by the prices for spare parts - they are incredibly expensive.
  • Boris, Yalta. My parents gave it to me for my birthday. Well, they gave me a gift - I wanted to buy a used car, they gave me the money and insisted on buying a new car. The most optimal price/quality ratio was the Ford Focus 3, with a 1.6 liter engine. The engine is not the most powerful, but it will do for the city and a first car. This is even better - there is less temptation to drive. And the consumption is normal - about 9 liters in the city, up to 7.5 liters on the highway, but you need to take into account that we have difficult terrain. I went to Simferopol, where the road is smoother - the BC showed generally about 6 liters.
  • Vladimir, Pskov. Before Ford I drove a Nissan Almera. I don’t feel much difference – the fact that this is an ordinary C-class car is, so to speak, a workhorse. There is nothing bad about this - on the contrary, I need the car to be simple and reliable. I like the gas mileage - I drive economically, on the highway I get up to 5 liters (this is very important, since I often travel intercity), in the city it’s about 8 liters.
  • Ilya, Petrozavodsk. We have been planning to buy a new car for a long time. Just for the wedding, they gave me a decent amount of money, we sold our old “ten”, reported the money that we had collected and the money that we gave, and bought a 2016 Ford Focus. Because on top-end equipment It wasn’t enough, so we took it with a 1.6 liter 105 horsepower engine and a manual transmission. The engine power is enough for both the city and the highway, but the consumption is high - in the city if with air conditioning, then about 10 liters comes out, on the highway it’s less, 6.5 liters somewhere.
  • Semyon, Perm. FF3, 1.6AT, station wagon, 2015. It's a company car, I've been driving it for a little over six months. Since I mainly transport cargo, the consumption is correspondingly higher - in the city on average it’s 10 liters, but I don’t save money, I always travel with an air conditioner in the summer - I don’t buy fuel with my own money. Overall a good car, I like it.

Ford Focus 3 generation 1.6 (125)

For more expensive trim levels of the Ford Focus, a forced version of the 105-horsepower Duratec Ti-VCT engine installed on the basic trim levels is offered. This engine develops power of 125 hp. and provides a torque of 160 Nm, and is paired with a 6-speed automatic or 5-speed manual.

Fuel consumption Ford Focus 3rd generation 1.6 (125) per 100 km. Reviews

  • Vitaly, Belgorod. Great car for the city. Comfortable, pleasant and interesting design and fuel consumption is low. I have a version with a manual - it is more economical than an automatic, in any case, on the highway it comes out to about 5 l/100 km, if you don’t use gas, and in the city up to 8 l, but this is without air conditioning.
  • Oleg, Moscow. In 2014, I wanted to buy a Ford Focus, but I learned in the news that there would be a restyling soon and decided to wait until the end of the year to buy the restyled version. I will say this - for a big city, especially for Moscow, this is an ideal option. Turbo versions are useless here, since the average speed is low, a regular aspirated one is better. I just took this one, for 125 horses with an automatic transmission. True, there are just problems with the automatic machine; I’ve already been to maintenance twice. On the highway the consumption is small - from 4.8 to 5.2 liters, but in the city it’s 9-10, but this is not an indicator, since you are constantly stuck in traffic jams.
  • Peter, Pskov. It's a family car; my father and I take turns driving. The car is good and reliable, I really like it. I recently got my license, so I drive carefully and in the city my consumption is approximately 7.8..8.1 liters per 100 km. My father’s consumption is an order of magnitude higher - he says it’s never less than 9.5 l/100 km. I haven’t driven it outside the city yet, so I won’t say.
  • Dmitry, Smolensk. I used to drive FF2, but now I bought a 2014 model with a 1.6 engine with 125 horses. What I don’t like is that the passport lies about fuel consumption. I can’t get less than 9.5 liters per 100 km in city mode, sometimes even up to 10 liters. By the way, the passport says that the tank is 55 liters - nothing like that, exactly 50 liters.
  • Konstantin, Lipetsk. Ford Focus, 1.6AT, 2011. Six months ago I barely sold it - the box was defective. They repaired it twice under warranty, but then they said that this was not a warranty case, so they had to repair it on their own. In general, I decided not to worry and sold it, and bought an Octavia in return - the automatic machines there, in my opinion, are more reliable.
  • Sergey, Odessa. The car was purchased in 2012 at a dealership - Ford Focus 3, 1.6MT, hatchback, 2012. I've already skated 128 thousand on it. The engine is not bad, with 125 horsepower, but still, the engine does not have enough power, especially on the highway. In terms of consumption, on average it’s about 9 liters, but I installed larger tires to make the suspension softer, so this is actually a plus for consumption.
  • Alexey, Penza. At the end of 2011, I acquired a new FF3, with a 125-horsepower engine. I didn’t want to take a diesel engine, since it’s a lot of hassle, but an aspirated engine is just right. I don’t get serviced at a dealer - the service there is such that the car will actually break down in six months. The engine is dead - for normal overtaking you have to go at least 3500 rpm, no less. In mixed mode, the consumption is about 7.2 liters, but I only use A-95, since the A-92 consumes more and draws worse.
  • Olga, Ekaterinburg. I skated on my Focus for 3 years. I really liked the car - the interior is good, the engine is normal with a consumption of 9 liters in the city and 6 on the highway. But the most important thing is safety. A five-ton truck crashed into me from behind, my ass was scrambled, but my airbags worked and I only got away with a broken nose, and my daughter, who was sitting behind me, was only scared.
  • Timofey, Moscow. Before the Focus, there were only used cars - somehow I couldn’t get around to buying a new one. But I got some money and decided to buy something from the showroom. A friend just told me that he has good discounts on pre-restyle Focuses in his salon - you can get them for a normal price. I took it and don’t regret it. The interior may be small, but it’s enough for me, the engine is also normal, in Moscow the consumption is 10 liters - this is very little, believe me.
