Which tires are better: Yokohama or Kumho? Summer tires Yokohama (Yokohama) - reviews, catalog, sale, prices Yokohama tire comparison

Drove three summer seasons on these tires. Made in Russia. Everyone bothers around the country, I did not, and did not lose.
My total mileage is almost 45 thousand kilometers. The sidewall is not weak, the wear would be enough for another season, if worn down to zero. I'm not used to wearing out to zero, I drive kids.
On wet roads, they work tolerably, they are not too noisy. For summer tires my requirements are satisfied.

Reliable rubber with a strong sidewall, you can drive into such a hole and ride off-road, without fear that something will happen to it, I remember one friend cut me very unsuccessfully, I had to sharply taxi to the side of the road, and there was all sorts of rubbish and stones, I thought after sharp braking on them will have to put a spare tire, but no, I withstood everything, of course my past slippers would have to be thrown out)

Not noisy, comfortable tires, according to the feeling on the road, the car began to behave better, especially if there are any inequities, and in general for your money - top tires, better options in this price segment I don't think so now

Hello. I will write my experience of riding Yokohama Geolandar G95 225/55R17. On my Forester, I usually put the 17th radius. I must say right away that rubber is not for everyone, it is soft, I like to drive a car on soft rubber. Tire pressure is always 2.2-2.3. Rolls smoothly. In a rut, the car does not dance; it enters and leaves it well. I don’t drive on wet asphalt more than 120, and there was no aquaplaning at such a speed, the grip is good. I don’t drive through any deep mud, but I drive through mud like on a wet road. I really like this rubber and I will use it.

You know, I never thought I'd be writing reviews. but that's another matter. I am extremely pleased with the quality that ride on these wheels gives me. Bought Nolorf Geolandar H/T G038. I drive an SUV. the price is biting, but I never save on high-quality rubber - this is the safety of my family and me (about 40 thousand rubles). I drive 70 kilometers a day. child garden, wife to work and himself to work and back. ruts often come across on the road, I drive in and out of the rut very confidently. even in the rain, riding in a rut is excellent. I think the wheels are quite wear-resistant because when I drove into holes on the asphalt at a rather high speed, everything was fine with the wheels. although the thought of buying new flashed. definitely worth the money

Geolandar G95A is ideal for cool summers and moderate autumn and spring, changed into it in mid-March and reached last week (changed into winter tires yesterday). On very hot days it becomes soft - this is the only nuance that I would like to note. Otherwise, excellent tires, I think that I paid for it exactly as much as it costs. The price is neither too high nor too low. With wear, all the rules - I didn’t notice critical abrasion .. True, in the first couple of months of use I rubbed the side of the front left wheel, but this is all due to improper balancing, I already corrected this moment in the tire shop. Outside the city and in the city, I rode norms on it, the rubber is elastic, it rides smoothly, I don’t have to count every bump with my back, with noise, too, more or less, it makes noise. but not stronger than others, with good noise reduction in the car, you will not notice this rustling. I can recommend to buy.

The Japanese company for the production of car tires has long been known, and is popular in many countries around the world. While becoming successful in the post-war years, the company's management made the right decision, placing a bet on all-season products and high quality.

Today, Yokohama tire products occupies a strong position in the international market, offering the consumer car tires with excellent quality and features. The well-established production in Russia produces products no worse than an enterprise in Japan - raw materials for production are supplied from trusted suppliers and in full compliance with the requirements of the plant. By the way, the quality of synthetic rubber produced in our country is considered the best in the world. In the presented review, for clarity, divided into categories, you can see the rating of the best models of this brand.

Yokohama's Best Comfort Tires

Most comfortable tires in their specification they have a speed index Y. As a rule, these are premium products, the price of which is an order of magnitude higher than ordinary rubber. The low noise level is achieved not only by a feature of the tread pattern, but also very much depends on the composition of the raw material from which the tire is made. Larger tires with a radius of R17, R18 and higher are considered the most comfortable, because the larger the wheel size, the less sensitive the bumps in the road are for the car and passengers.

2 YOKOHAMA BLUE ARTH-A AE-50

Cornering stability. Best value for money
Country:
Average price: 3,590 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.6

A tire designed specifically for long-distance road trips. The tire is completely unsuitable for driving on mud, wet grass, and any other rough terrain. All its qualities are designed exclusively for asphalt pavement - on the track, the Yokohama Blue Arth tire is capable of much. Excellent road holding, in turns at a reasonable speed demonstrates stable behavior, is not afraid of meeting wet surfaces and puddles.

In the reviews, there are often negative comments that cast doubt on the comfort of these tires. Due to their negligible number, most likely, either an incorrect break-in takes place (and any tires for long and reliable operation must be trained), or the goods were stored for a long time in the seller’s warehouse without observing established norms. Otherwise, the rubber is just excellent, against the background of similar products of popular brands, it has affordable price, absolutely not losing them in quality characteristics.

Why Proper Tire Break-In Is Necessary

In order for the operation of new tires to be as long and efficient as possible, they must be properly prepared for their functions. Tire production is similar to a “layer cake”: textile fiber, rubber, steel reinforcing wire, layer by layer are superimposed on each other and vulcanized. This process takes place in a special form, the surface of which is treated with a lubricant that prevents the rubber from sticking. It is she who is adsorbed into the surface of the tire and initially does not allow all the characteristics of the new rubber to appear.

To remove this layer, it is enough to drive several hundred kilometers. This must be done carefully, avoiding any overload in the operation of the tire. Sharp turns, high-speed driving and heavy braking during this period are contraindicated. If these rules are not observed, the uneven wear will subsequently progressively increase with further mileage, as a result of which the tire will lose its declared characteristics, and its service life will be significantly reduced.

1 YOKOHAMA AVS DECIBEL V550

The quietest tyre. Excellent handling on wet pavement
Country: Japan (made in Russia, Philippines)
Average price: 6 106 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.9

The size range of these low profile tires covers the most demanded market segment (from R15 to R18). Rubber is very hard, all the bumps and potholes in the road respond to the steering wheel. It has excellent braking distances, both on wet and dry pavement. It holds the road well, during high-speed turns, the moment of stalling into a skid is stretched and sensitive to the driver, which allows you to control this process by reducing speed.

In their reviews, the owners of Yokohama decibel tires express great satisfaction with the ride comfort - after warming up the tires at any vehicle speed, acoustic noises are generated only by air flows cut against the body, silence from the side of the rubber. Among the disadvantages - getting into deep holes can lead to damage to the side of the edge of the disk, despite the reinforced sidewall (it all depends on the chosen speed limit and management style).

Yokohama's Best Sports Tires

These tires are specially designed for aggressive and fast driving enthusiasts. They are completely different from conventional tires, they have a fairly high stiffness (provides reliable control), but at the same time they are quite soft and comfortable after warming up, literally cling to the road and are able to provide a minimum braking distance. The disadvantage is the rapid wear, which is inevitable at high speed for heated rubber.

3 YOKOHAMA ADVAN ST V802

High steering sensitivity. Excellent road holding
Country: Japan (made in Russia, Philippines)
Average price: 13,131 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.6

An excellent choice for owners of powerful crossovers who love speed. Despite the fact that the tire is quite heavy (R18 weighs 13.3 kg), it is easy to balance. Very rigid sidewall, almost no bending even under load. The directional tread provides good grip, better directional stability and handling forms a central solid rib. For all its rigidity, in the enlarged (due to the small transition angle of the lateral part) contact patch, the tire exhibits a sticking effect. This provides not only a short braking distances, but also holding on corners, he stalls into a skid at high speeds.

In the reviews, the owners like the ability of the Advan ST V802 to hold the road confidently. Maneuvering at speed is very clear, without blockages (hard side part makes itself felt). The tires are reliable, painlessly overcome urban obstacles such as curbs. There is a slight noise of the tire. Off-road tires do not behave in the best way, after all, these are high-speed tires.

2 YOKOHAMA ADVAN FLEVA V701

The Advan Fleva tire has a bright and memorable tread pattern (grooves resemble hooks or claws), which allows the wheel to unquestioningly obey the steering wheel on any road surface. Despite their pronounced characteristics sports tire, Yokohama Advan is also a very comfortable tire, which has low level road contact noise.

These, of course, are not semi-slicks, but you won’t be able to ride them calmly - tires provoke aggressive driving with their confident behavior on the road. The reviews note the high strength and wear resistance of rubber. It has excellent resistance to side damage, low rolling resistance, and a directional tread pattern and numerous drainage grooves allow you to ignore wet asphalt and puddles.

Features of winter tire break-in

If with summer tires the break-in process is quite simple, and comes down to banal accuracy and smoothness of driving for the first couple of hundred runs, the break-in of winter studded tires is more demanding. It takes a little longer (mileage should be at least 500 - 600 km.) With the same calm driving style. During the break-in process, the spikes fall into place, the lubricant between the rubber and the steel tip evaporates, and in the future it will be necessary to try more so that they fly out ahead of the prescribed service life.

But the main thing when running in winter studded tires is temperature regime- experts recommend doing this process even with positive weather and clean (from snow and ice) asphalt. Studless rubber, popularly called Velcro, runs in as quickly as summer tires - it is enough to follow the rules of careful driving for a hundred or another kilometers, and new tires are ready for reliable and long-term service.

1 YOKOHAMA AVS SPORT V105

The fastest tire
Country: Japan (made in Russia, Philippines)
Average price: 4,040 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.9

High class rubber for powerful and expensive cars, developed in tandem with the Daimler concern and appeared on the market quite recently - in 2012. Fully meets the high requirements of owners, providing unsurpassed grip, speed and comfort performance. In their reviews, drivers note the excellent behavior of the car on the road - it does not “roam” along the highway, confidently turns at high speed, and does not break into a skid. Puddles and sections of wet roads do not oblige you to slow down - the tires literally cut through the water barrier, and are not at all prone to hydroplaning.

Thanks to the Matrix Rayon Body Ply technology, the rubber is very sensitive to steering movements. Even on a dirt road (where would it be without it), the tire slips into slip only in heavy mud, but it does not burrow, and can overcome an obstacle when driving “in tightness”. Due to the high price on the market, sizes R17, R18 and above are more common, which are more in line with luxury cars.

Yokohama's best winter tires

Yokohama winter tires are quite popular in our country. The feature of the best tire for the cold season lies in the balance between softness (and such rubber simply has to be very soft) and wear resistance. Having excellent parameters of the specified properties, Yokohama tires they also have a unique tread that makes the wheel stay on ice no worse than on clean highway asphalt.

3 YOKOHAMA GEOLANDAR I/T-S G073

High wear resistance. The shortest stopping distance
Country: Japan (made in Russia, Philippines)
Average price: 4 830 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.6

This tire has proven itself on winter roads, providing safe driving regardless of the road surface. The main advantage of this line of Yokohama tires is a short braking distance, which is of great importance for a large and heavy car (rubber is designed for crossovers or SUVs, the main operation of which takes place in the city).

Reviews of drivers using Geolandar I / T-S G073 on their cars note good braking on ice, despite the lack of spikes. The disadvantage of the tire is a large roll of the car during high-speed turns (due to the soft sidewall), although on winter road"recklessness" is useless. Despite the fact that the size range starts with R15, larger tires are more in demand on the domestic market, starting with R16 and above.

2 YOKOHAMA ICE GUARD IG55

The best road grip. Excellent handling
Country: Japan (made in Russia, Philippines)
Average price: 4,560 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.6

The use of orange oil in the rubber compound makes the tread surface more elastic, thereby achieving excellent grip with the road - the tire literally sticks to the surface, completely displacing water or snow porridge in the contact patch. For removal, oblique directional channels are used, the width of which allows the rubber to immediately self-clean. Good handling is ensured by a fairly wide central rib of the tread, which also has a diverse configuration.

The cross-shaped studs are surrounded by a special tread pattern reminiscent of turbine blades. Its purpose is to ensure high performance and prevent tooth loss (the stud does not protrude much above the tread, but due to the design it performs its function 100%) these tires themselves. There is also low noise during operation of the wheel.

1 YOKOHAMA W.DRIVE V905

Quietest winter tire
Country: Japan (made in Russia, Philippines)
Average price: 3,097 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

This line of tires Japanese manufacturer was developed specifically for the conditions of the central part of the European mainland, where roads are often covered with an ice crust or a porridge of snow and ice mixed with water. The tread of the winter tire is designed in such a way that the rubber has excellent lateral cornering stability, regardless of road conditions. The drainage channels are quite wide, made at an angle and perfectly remove not only water, but also melting snow from the contact patch. Reliable grip ensures the ability of the tread of this tire to clean itself quickly.

In their reviews, the owners note the effectiveness of tires when braking in the realities of winter roads - this characteristic is largely provided by shoulder zones with self-locking sipes. The rubber also has excellent traction properties, is resistant to aquaplaning and effectively saves fuel due to the minimum amount of rolling resistance.

Yokohama's best off-road tires

Yokohama tire products are available for different road conditions. Tires are in great demand in our country off-road capable of ensuring the advancement of the car in conditions not only dirt roads but also their complete absence. This category contains best rulers off-road tires of this brand.

2 YOKOHAMA GEOLANDAR A/T G015

High side cut resistance
Country: Japan (made in Russia, Philippines)
Average price: 7,080 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.6

This line of tires is all-season and can be successfully used in regions with mild winters on a year-round basis. Rubber has a number of advantages, providing both cross-country ability and good grip on asphalt. The aggressive tread pattern, despite the rather large depth, makes very little noise on the highway. The tire has an increased contact patch, which ensures uniform pressure on the tire, good grip. In addition, the thickness of the tire is significantly increased, which determines its resistance to damage, especially side damage.

Owners who have installed these tires on their vehicles (the most popular R16 - R18) in the reviews, as a rule, express satisfaction with the All-Terrain G015 line. They pay attention to good driving characteristics, both on asphalt and on rough terrain. reverse side medals favors rapid wear with an aggressive driving style.

1 YOKOHAMA GEOLANDAR A/T-S G012

The best permeability. Excellent balance
Country: Japan (made in Russia, Philippines)
Average price: 6 850 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

This is one of the best all terrain tires in Yokohama. Despite the rather large weight, the rubber is well balanced (this is especially important for such large sizes as R17, R18). The feature of the self-cleaning tread provides confident patency on rough terrain, “rakes out” through mud, sand and wet grass (it is important to monitor the pressure in the cylinders). It behaves confidently on the track, wet asphalt, puddles do not affect grip even at high speeds. The tire is quite stiff, so there is increased acoustic noise at speed.

In their reviews, owners who have experienced the properties of A / T-S G012 in practice, as a rule, express satisfaction with their choice. The tire performs well in the conditions for which it is designed. Vehicles with all-wheel drive, in all road conditions, are capable of much. With all-season use, tires behave well on a winter road, they do not tan in mild frosts, but it is better not to use them in regions with severe winters. It also has a high resistance to wear and punctures.

Japanese corporation Yokohama, which produces the eponymous car tires, occupies one of the leading places in the world ranking the best manufacturers tires. Among the company's clients are famous brands like Mitsubishi, Toyota, Subaru, Mazda, Lexus, Porsche, mercedes benz, Lotus.

In this review, we will take a look at best models Yokohama tires. Let's get acquainted with their characteristics, find out how much they cost, consider their positive and negative sides. We will select the best models in terms of price / quality ratio.

In the production of Yokohama tires, the innovative IceGuard technology is used, which gives rubber resistance to all weather conditions, giving it water-absorbing properties. The wheels keep contact with the road surface by absorbing excess moisture. Applied aggressive tread pattern.

Yokohama tires are regularly tested at special test sites in order to identify flaws and test new rubber models.

Product range

Yokohama's product range includes tires for trucks, cars, racing cars and SUVs.

  • All-season tires combine the wear resistance of summer rubber and elasticity winter version wheels.

Tire Benefits

  • High resistance to temperature changes. When choosing all-season tires, there is practically no difference in driving when the weather changes.
  • Low noise level.
  • They have high permeability.
  • Increased wear resistance. Tires are able to "drive" several seasons in active mode.
  • Confidently selected from any dirt and snowdrifts.

Negative sides of tires

  • brand value.
  • Spikes fly out winter tires at a speed of about 140 km / h.
  • Tires skid on ice, especially when cornering.

Tires Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 215/60 R16 95H

All-season tires Yokohama Geolandar are designed for small and medium SUVs. These are innovative tires for which rubber compound with the content of orange oil, which made the tires economical, comfortable and safe. They provide excellent grip on wet and dry roads, allow you to save fuel, while driving silently.

When choosing tires, pay attention, although Geolandar are positioned as all-terrain, they are still better suited for roads, albeit of poor quality. They overcome pits and cracks well, but on the primer and thaw they do not show themselves in the most ideal way. For rare exits from the road, they are suitable, and for constant off-road driving, it is better to choose a different model.

Prices for Yokohama models

Note: prices are based on 3-5 popular models that are currently available in stores.

Tires are one of the most important technical aspects of the safe operation of a car. After all, handling directly depends on the grip with the road. Naturally, the indicated characteristic should remain equally high regardless of the specific season.

To achieve such a safe operation is possible only with the help of high-quality tires for wheels. Kumho ECSTA PS31 is a choice that has managed to prove itself exclusively with positive side. The publication below will make a brief comparison between the largest Asian manufacturers tires - Kumho and Yokohama.

Yokohama is a recognized classic (and not only in sports)

The Japanese manufacturer has become known to a greater extent due to the active introduction into motorsport. Today, Yokohama provides tires for more than just passenger cars.

The manufacturer is distinguished by the following features:

  • an incredibly wide range of tires;
  • testing at test sites located on different continents, in
  • different climatic zones;
  • wide dealer network all over the world;
  • use of tires in major sports events.

The company does not copy Western analogues. The brand has a huge team of developers who are looking for the most optimal tread line combinations.

Needless to say, high grip is achieved not only due to the softness of the rubber, but also due to the effective removal of water. Hydroplaning is the worst thing that can happen to tires.

However, Yokohama has a very strong competitor, which has recently been actively gaining momentum.

Kumho - Koreans don't want to be left out

The Korean manufacturer is actively engaged in the production of tires not only for automotive vehicles, but also for aircraft. There are some real loads! Despite this, the brand is not particularly widespread.

The quality of Korean tires is beyond doubt. The reputation continues to grow every day. Recently, information was published on the official website of the manufacturer, the essence of which is negotiating with the aim of introducing Kumho tires into Formula 1.

Perhaps Pirelli will finally be thrown off its pedestal. If speak about driving performance Kumho products, it is distinguished by a geometry that generates virtually no noise during movement.

Every motorist is faced with the problem of choice quality rubber for your car. Today, this has become much more difficult. Presented at the car market huge assortment tires of the most different manufacturers. And most of them are of very high quality.

How to choose the right tires

To do right choice, several important points must be taken into account. First of all, it concerns the cost. Sometimes the price of rubber is quite acceptable, while the quality corresponds to the wheels produced by a well-known manufacturer. That is, you can always choose a budget option.

Of course, the service life expensive tires differs in duration. They have a wide tread that quickly removes water. In addition, they reduce the braking distance on an icy road.

When choosing rubber, regardless of its price, you need to focus on important nuances:

  • Tires must match vehicle. The appropriate size can be found in its technical manual.
  • Maximum speed.
  • rubber category.
  • Seasonality.
  • Possibility of braking on ice surface.

It is very important that the value of the speed and maximum load coincide with the dimensions of the tire. Failure to do so may result in damage to the suspension.

Yokohama or Dunlop

The cost of these tires is about the same. However, before making a choice, it is worth getting to know them. technical specifications. Find out what advantages each model has.

Yokohama

For manufacturing, the manufacturer uses computer technology. Therefore, the tire fully meets international standards.

New tires reduce stopping distance.

Winter wheels equipped metal spikes original design. They provide reliable grip on icy roads. Car drift is completely excluded. The studded tire increases the safety of the trip, makes it more comfortable.

Especially for the summer season, the wheels are made of rubber, which does not begin to melt at high temperatures.

The universal (all-weather) tire is made of two-layer rubber. It can remain elastic in severe frosts and not melt in extreme heat.

There are models that have special semicircular holes on the tread. Due to them, tires repel snow, dirt and water, quickly self-cleaning. Longitudinal grooves prevent wheel slippage while maintaining lateral stability cars.

Rubber is designed for long-term use. Sometimes this period exceeds 10 years.

Each wheel is thoroughly tested. Samples with the slightest deviation from the norm are rejected. Therefore, the company guarantees 100% quality of its products.

Dunlop

The wheels have a wide tread. The design of the drawing and its calculation was performed using computer graphics. Rubber adheres tightly to the road surface, ensuring complete safety of the trip.

The protector has a non-directional symmetrical pattern. The car never skids on wet or very slippery roads.

When driving over potholes and pits in the car, no shocks are felt.

Tires provide minimal stopping distance. This is very important for driving on city streets.

Winter models are equipped with steel spikes that provide excellent grip on the track. On such rubber, the car never leaves the deposit.

Summer tires are made of special rubber. It eliminates melting at high temperatures.

All-weather are made of several layers. As a result, the wheels do not freeze in severe frosts and do not melt in the heat.

Dunlop can be used for a long time. If properly maintained, they will last more than 10 years.

The characteristics of both tires are almost the same. Motorists speak of them only in a positive way. At low cost Each model is of superior quality.

According to car owners, Yokohama is more suitable for slippery roads. If you install Dunlop, you should use all-season options. They show excellent results in winter cold and summer heat.

Of course, when choosing a tire, you must also take into account its parameters and characteristics. Wheels with different parameters often behave differently.

Yokohama or Nokian

World famous Nokian wheels are produced in Finland. In our country, they are made in Vsevolzhsk. The products are certified according to ISO 9001.

A feature of Nokian tires is the wear indicator. With it, you can easily measure the tread depth. Finnish tires guarantee powerful grip on any road surface, regardless of its surface. The ride is comfortable both on wet pavement and on icy roads.

According to experts, the quality Nokian tires slightly higher than Yokohama, so if possible, it is better to install Finnish tires.

Yokohama or Hankook

In South Korea, Hankook tires are considered the best for the winter period. Many global car manufacturers such as Volvo and Volkswagen produce their vehicles with Hankook tires.

They have become very popular in our country thanks to high quality and low cost. Motorists note several positive qualities:

  • Low price.
  • Excellent stability.
  • Softness.
  • Doesn't make any extra noise.
  • Small stopping distance.
  • Long service life.

Hankook are more suitable for general use. If it's about sports cars, the best are Yokohama.

Pirelli or Yokohama

The Italians produce Pirelli models:

  • Create discomfort when moving.
  • Too fast wear.

All season performance

All-weather, for high-speed driving. Can be used all year round. The car remains stable on an icy road, shows good results on dry pavement.

choose tires.
of these rolled only breeches, but in a different size! breeches liked, and behavior on the road, and grip, and rubber quality.
From these considerations choose breeches.
but they are more expensive by 2.5 thousand. The kit is $10 more expensive.
my rubber rarely rolls back the entire prescribed period, more often it is killed in the spring in our pits, for these reasons it is better to take a kumho which is cheaper, and in the event of a wheel breaking through to a hernia, add five to the saved ten, and take two of the same new tires, and not worry for a broken wheel.

yokgoama is an average between kumho and breeches, I didn’t ride it, I just turned it on so that it was.

maybe someone will write something sensible, breeches or kumho? ¶
