Stuffed cabbage rolls in the oven with sauce. Stuffed cabbage rolls in tomato-sour cream sauce (in the oven). In the oven in tomato-sour cream sauce

Ingredients

To prepare cabbage rolls in tomato-sour cream sauce in the oven you will need:
cabbage - 1.5 kg.
For the filling:
rice - 2 cups;
carrots - 3-4 pcs.;
onions - 2-3 pcs.;

vegetable oil for frying;
meat (I cooked with chicken fillet) - 750 g;
salt, ground black pepper - to taste.
For the tomato sour cream sauce:
tomato juice - 1.5 liters;
tomato paste - 3 tbsp. l.;
sour cream - 4 tbsp. l.;
sugar, salt and ground black pepper - to taste.

Cooking steps

To prepare the dish, I used these ingredients: Rinse the chicken fillet (or other meat), dry it, cut it into small pieces and grind it using a meat grinder. If desired, you can also use ready-made minced meat.

Place the head of cabbage in the microwave, turn it on for 2-3 minutes at 750 watts. At the signal, take out the head of cabbage and turn it over to the other side. When the top leaves become soft, begin to carefully separate them from the head of cabbage. Put the cabbage back in the microwave, then separate the soft leaves again and continue this procedure until all the leaves are soft.

Let the leaves cool. Then cut off the hard part from each sheet with a knife, which is located in the center of the sheet.

Rinse the rice, place in boiling water, after the water boils, reduce the heat, add salt and cook until half cooked (5 minutes). Then place the rice in a colander, rinse, let the water drain completely and cool.

In a separate plate with the cooled rice, add the fried vegetables that we set aside, twisted meat, salt, ground black pepper, mix and the stuffing for cabbage rolls is ready.

Place 1-1.5 tablespoons of filling in the center of each prepared cabbage leaf, then to form a cabbage roll from the top of the cabbage leaf, twist the leaf toward you, fold the edges on the sides inward, and twist the workpiece to the end of the leaf.

Top the future cabbage rolls with tomato-sour cream sauce. From the specified amount of ingredients, two baking sheets are obtained, as in the photo.

Bake cabbage rolls in tomato-sour cream sauce at a temperature of 150-170 degrees for about 1 hour (if you are cooking in a heat-resistant glass form, then put it in a cold oven, otherwise put it in a preheated oven).

Pour the sauce in which they were baked on top of the finished cabbage rolls, and serve sour cream separately. Stuffed cabbage rolls baked in the oven in tomato and sour cream sauce turn out tasty, juicy and aromatic.

Delicious and pleasant moments!

Main ingredients:

  • 2 small white cabbages;
  • 200 ml rice;
  • 2 medium onions;
  • half a kilogram of minced pork and beef;
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil;
  • 2 tsp chopped greens;
  • spices to taste.
  1. To prepare cabbage rolls, it is best to take small heads of cabbage. It is very important that the leaves are soft and fresh.
  2. Before cooking, the leaves must be separated from the head, cutting out the rough elements. This point is very important if you want to cook cabbage rolls from soft cabbage. How to separate leaves? You need to make cuts around the head of cabbage with a knife.
  3. Then the cabbage is steamed or boiled in boiling water for several minutes, up to about ten, until the leaves are soft.
  4. Then each leaf needs to be separated from the head of cabbage, this can be done using a knife. There is another way - the head of cabbage is placed in a microwave oven so that the head of cabbage is on top, heated for five to eight minutes, then the leaves become soft and pliable.
  5. When heating a head of cabbage in the microwave, you need to make sure that the leaves do not dry out. A glass of rice should also be pre-boiled, but not cooked until cooked.
  6. The onion is chopped and fried in a frying pan in vegetable oil.
  7. In a deep bowl you need to mix rice, minced meat, fried onions.
  8. Fresh, dried or frozen herbs should also be chopped and added to the mixture.
  9. Salt and pepper everything, you can add other spices and herbs to taste.
  10. While the oven is heating up, you need to start wrapping the minced meat with rice in cabbage leaves. This should be done so that all the filling is isolated in the sheet. The amount of filling must correspond to the size of the sheet so that it fits into it and does not fall out. You need to wrap it in an envelope or in a tube, “hiding” the corners.
  11. After wrapping the filling in a sheet, lay out the cabbage rolls in layers. This should be done with the seam facing down so that they do not unravel.
  12. Fill the form with cabbage rolls with water and cover with a lid or cover with foil.
  13. The dish must be baked for forty minutes to an hour in a preheated oven.
  14. Very often, layers of cabbage rolls are filled not with water, but with sour cream. Stuffed cabbage rolls in sour cream acquire a completely different rich taste.
  15. Serve the finished dish generously with sour cream, sauce, and gravy. You can also decorate with greenery!

Note: cabbage rolls are a universal dish. They can be frozen raw. Frozen cabbage rolls can also be boiled and baked, which is very convenient.

A simple and delicious recipe for cabbage rolls with gravy in the oven has been found! Juicy, aromatic, in tomato-sour cream sauce - this dish will become your signature dish at any family dinner.

How to cook oven-baked cabbage rolls with gravy, step-by-step recipe with photos:

First, let’s prepare all the ingredients: boil the rice until half cooked (it will cook in the oven in the meat juice), chop the onion and mentally prepare for the upcoming cooking)

Boil water in a saucepan, into which we then place the cabbage, peeled from the top leaves, with the stalk facing up. The wider the cabbage, the larger its leaves, which is what we need for convenient rolling of future cabbage rolls.

The cabbage boils for about 5 minutes, after which you can cut off the leaves at the stem and remove them. Unfortunately, we have to do this manually, but this way we can be sure that the leaves will remain intact and cook well. The finished leaves should be green, but almost transparent.

While the leaves are cooling, mix the minced meat and boiled rice, salt and pepper to taste. It’s better not to overdo it with spices; the gravy will give its taste.

And now the most difficult and responsible process (just not for us, now together we will see how simple it is!). We take the cooled leaf (the rest are still being cooked) and cut off the thickest part from it, the one with which it was attached to the stalk. We put 1 tbsp on it. minced meat with rice.

Then cover the minced meat on top with a sheet.

We put an envelope on the side parts.

Fold seam side down. Voila, the very complex process of making cabbage rolls is complete!

Now let's prepare the gravy. To do this, mix sour cream and ketchup in equal proportions and cut the onion.

Whisk all this into a homogeneous mass.

Pour the resulting gravy over the cabbage rolls in the form with a spoon and place in the oven preheated to 180 0 for 40 minutes.

Ready-made cabbage rolls with gravy are great with mashed potatoes or any other side dish of your choice.

Bon appetit!

Anyone can cook cabbage rolls in the oven, including a novice cook. This simple dish is served at the most sophisticated banquets, prepared in various variations. Many peoples of the world have it, it differs slightly in the composition of the products and the method of preparation. In Turkey, cabbage rolls are called sarma, in Greece - cabbage dolma, during the reign of Peter 1 the dish was called "galushi", and in France - fake "pigeons". Regardless of the name, this light and satisfying dish is loved and revered in many families, prepared as an independent dish for family dinners and holidays.

Stuffed cabbage rolls will complement any side dish.

To cook lazy cabbage rolls in the oven, you will need the following ingredients:

  • mixed minced meat – 0.5 kg;
  • rice cereal – 100 g;
  • cabbage – approximately 450 g;
  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • chicken egg;
  • a little salt, pepper, spices;
  • breadcrumbs for breading.

The filling is prepared on the basis of onions, carrots, tomatoes - 300 g, sour cream - 170 ml, water, garlic and spices. The yield of cabbage rolls from this quantity of products is 16-17 pieces.

The preparation of lazy cabbage rolls begins with chopping the cabbage. It is cut into small pieces, placed in a container and poured with boiling water to soften. This will help you end up with a more pliable component for minced meat, and besides, such cabbage in the dish will not crunch and stand out in taste.

Rice cereal is washed and boiled until tender.

It should not be washed after preparation to avoid loss of stickiness.

The minced meat is mixed with onions and spices to taste.

In a large container you need to combine the cereal, meat mass, egg and cabbage, first squeezing out the excess liquid from it. After mixing everything until smooth, you should make small oval-shaped cabbage rolls from the minced meat, roll them in breadcrumbs and place them on a greased baking sheet. In an oven preheated to 190-200 degrees, place a baking sheet with cabbage rolls and set the time to 18-22 minutes (depending on the characteristics of the equipment).

While the prepared pieces are baking, you can start preparing the filling. To do this, chop and fry the onion in vegetable fat, then add grated carrots to it and simmer. Next, grated fresh tomatoes are added to the vegetables, which will give the sauce, and then the dish, an amazing taste and aroma. After the tomatoes, garlic juice and spices are added to the filling. Everything is stewed for at least 3-4 minutes.

Separately, sour cream and water are mixed in a container and added to the filling along with salt and spices. The sauce for lazy cabbage rolls is ready and can be used for its intended purpose.

When the meat pieces are lightly baked, you can pour the sauce over them and put them back in the oven for 35 minutes. It is good to serve the dish immediately after cooking, as a stand-alone dish or as an addition to any side dish.

In tomato sour cream sauce

Traditionally, cabbage rolls are cooked in a tomato sauce in the oven or on the stove in a saucepan. If you bake cabbage rolls in tomato and sour cream sauce, you will get a completely new taste of the classic dish, no less appetizing and pleasant.

To prepare the dish, you should take:

  • young cabbage - approximately 900 g;
  • boiled rice cereal – 300 g;
  • chicken or pork meat – 450 g;
  • onions, carrots;
  • garlic cloves – 2-4 pcs.;
  • a little hot pepper, salt, spices;
  • tomatoes – 6 pcs.;
  • sour cream – 90 ml;
  • vegetable fat – 60-80 ml.

First, rice cereal is boiled in salted water.

To prepare cabbage rolls, it is best to take long-grain cereals, which will stick together in the minced meat, which will allow you to create a product with an ideal structure.

Neat-shaped cabbage, preferably young, should be disassembled into leaves, then boil them in salted water for 8 minutes (if the vegetable is young, the cooking time is reduced). In order not to boil the leaves, you can put them in the freezer the day before preparing the dish, then take them out, defrost them and get a soft product.

The meat is ground into minced meat and mixed with rice. Separately, fry the onions and carrots in a frying pan and add spices. Approximately half of the frying is added to the minced meat, the rest is left for pouring. After preparing the minced meat and adding the necessary spices to it, you can start filling the cabbage leaves. To do this, you first need to remove large veins on all leaves.

Place a couple of bay leaves on top of the sauce, chopped garlic cloves and the dish goes into the cupboard for 40-45 minutes. The dish is served with sour cream and herbs.
