Where are individual Mitsubishi models assembled? New Mitsubishi ACX after restyling Where is Mitsubishi asx assembled

Mitsubishi ASX was absent for Russian market one year and two months. How much has the crossover changed during this time?

Not too serious. The front bumper now has LEDs running lights, the shape of the radiator grille cells has slightly changed. The rear bumper with a fake diffuser is new. Plus, a chrome strip appeared on the fifth door.

The changes in the interior are noticeable, but there could be more. The tunnel trimmed with eco-leather and the steering wheel with glossy inserts and tides for the right grip are great. However, the modern multimedia system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, available to the ASX in other markets, has not reached us. We're sorry.

The base price tag of 1,099,000 rubles seems quite attractive for a time-tested Japanese-made car. Or is it not?

The starting price really doesn't raise any objections until you start going into details and comparing it with competitors' offerings. Once you dig deeper and figure it out, it becomes sad. For a million they offer us a front-wheel drive crossover with a 1.6 liter engine and manual transmission transmission No side airbags, no heated seats, no audio system (there will only be an AUX jack and four speakers) and no trunk curtain.

For the same money you can buy a 2-liter front-wheel drive Creta with an automatic transmission and the whole range of the above options. You can take it very well packaged Renault Captur(1.6, CVT). Ford EcoSport, Suzuki Vitara and SX4 with a similar price tag will also be equipped much better. Yes - none of them can boast of Japanese assembly (Hyundai, Renault and Ford are assembled in Russia, Suzuki - in Hungary). But we are not entirely sure that this is any significant argument in favor of the ASX today.

What about the top version with the long name Instyle 2.0 CVT AWD? Mitsubishi is asking a little less than one and a half million for such a car.

In our opinion, the packaged Mitsubishi ASX has a slightly higher chance of market success. However, without fans of the brand and adherents of “real Japanese assembly,” the crossover will have a hard time. The equipment of the top-end ASX (2-liter 150-horsepower engine, all-wheel drive transmission, seven airbags, leather interior) is already quite good, but the same Nissan Qashqai I am ready to offer more for comparable money. For example, a panoramic roof and a surround-view system. And, with a budget of 1.5 million rubles, you can safely take a closer look at the larger Mazda CX-5 crossover. Great option for those who value driving pleasure.

By the way, how is the Mitsubishi ASX doing in terms of driving pleasure?

Since versions with a 1.6 engine are equipped exclusively with mechanics and are unlikely to be in serious demand, for our acquaintance we took a 2-liter 150-horsepower ASX with a CVT. The engine-gearbox combination is enough for the car in any situation. Acceleration dynamics are sufficient even for highway overtaking, and the response to the accelerator is adequate. In addition to poor sound insulation engine compartment, there are no complaints about the car here.

And yet, if you have anything to compare with, don’t expect driving pleasure. Whether on asphalt or on dirt, the ASX is disappointing with its rather light steering wheel with a blurry “zero”, and it transmits coating defects in too much detail into the interior. Most competitors ride more interesting and thoroughbred.

Maybe the ASX will make up for it off-road? Mitsubishi's off-road heritage is bound to leave its mark even on a compact crossover.

Alas, the heritage does not know about its responsibility. Perhaps the only off-road trump card of the ASX is its excellent geometric cross-country ability. The approach angles (22°) and departure (33°) are two to three degrees greater than those of classmates. Yes and ground clearance 185 mm is decent by modern standards. But everything else is bad.

When tested on our proprietary roller platforms, which simulate wheel slip, the ASX failed. Center coupling, which transferred part of the torque to rear axle, allowed the crossover to move off two platforms under the front wheels. But already during an exercise simulating diagonal hanging (the platforms are installed diagonally: under one rear and one front wheel), overheated after 10 seconds of slipping. Repeated attempts with the clutch locked and the stabilization system turned off (of course, after the transmission had completely cooled) were also unsuccessful. To the chagrin of Mitsubishi, almost all all-wheel drive crossovers of competitors move off the “diagonal” without any problems.

Is the updated interior noticeably nicer than the pre-reform one? Is there a lot of space in the cabin? Is the trunk good?

Interior changes are minimal, but they can be considered an advantage for the “Japanese”. The new Outlander steering wheel mentioned above is good. The leather trim of the central tunnel, although not capable of creating the impression of more expensive car, but overall pleasant. For dessert, a USB port has been moved from the armrest to the lower part of the center console. Cool? Yes. But there are also comments.

The “leather” with which the front seats are upholstered looks defiantly unnatural. Discrete climate control pucks are archaic and inconvenient to use. You have to reach down somewhere to reach the variator selector. And yes, the USB port has actually moved, because the center armrest is now empty. For some reason, Mitsubishi decided that one connector would be enough for the entire cabin.

Everything is fine with the driver's seat profile and seating geometry. Only very long-legged drivers may not have enough seat cushion length. But there is not much space in the back. The small width of the cabin makes it difficult to accommodate three people comfortably. Passengers under 190 cm tall rest their heads against the ceiling and their knees against the backs of the front seats. At the same time, the doors themselves open to a small angle, and their internal linings are devoid of pockets. In 2010 - when the ASX was born - their absence was considered the norm, but by modern standards it was bad manners.

Mitsubishi ASX- a compact crossover from the iconic Japanese automaker. In the Russian Federation this model appeared in 2010 immediately after its first appearance at the exhibition in Geneva. Since then Japanese crossover has become quite a popular model in our country. It is not surprising that every year there are more and more people wanting to buy a Mitsubishi ACX.

The car has a whole list of positive features, but overall they form an excellent crossover concept. In Russia, a very popular question among car enthusiasts is where Mitsubishi ACX is assembled for delivery to our country. Readers of our resource are also interested in this information, so in today’s material we will pay attention to this.

Crossover production locations

At the very beginning of the formation of the Mitsubishi ACX concept, this model assumed a combination of the main features of an innovative crossover: accessibility, quality and excellent functionality. Creating such a car, without exaggeration, requires high-quality equipment. Due to the lack of one in the Russian Federation, we do not produce Mitsubishi ACX.

Since 2010, the crossover began to be produced in Japan., or rather, at the Nagoya Plant plant in Okazaki. Until recently, the Mitsubishi model was produced there for two main reasons:

  • Factory Availability full cycle production. That is, the model is both cast and assembled in one place.
  • Possibility of testing the crossover on a specialized track available in Okazaki.

Despite good conditions produced by Mitsubishi in Japan, several years ago it was transferred to North America, namely to several US states. Many connoisseurs of the ASH model were slightly alarmed by such matters, but, by the way, the excitement is unnecessary.

The fact is that US factories are equipped no worse than Japanese ones, and their assembly process is completely similar. Based on this, it is worth stating that Mitsubishi ACX is from Okazaki and from the USA there are completely identical models both in quality and in concept. If we talk specifically about the versions of the crossover for delivery to the Russian Federation, they are produced in Illinois at exactly the same plant that is in Japan.

Summarizing the information presented above, it is worth answering the question asked in the article - “Where are Mitsubishi ACX assembled for Russia?” On at the moment The crossover is assembled only in the USA, but on the used vehicle market you can also find versions of the model from Japan. Just like that.

Note! Despite the recently launched production of the crossover in the USA, today models from this country prevail over Japanese ones. If you want to buy a version of a car from Japan, you will have to seriously strain to find it.

A few words about build quality in the USA and Japan

It was previously noted that the build quality of Japanese and American ASHs is the same. IN general outline it is, of course, true, but if you delve into the essence of the issue, you can find some differences. Even if the latter are not significant.

Firstly, it is worth noting the quality of the paintwork. For crossovers from the USA it is noticeably worse than for the indigenous “Japanese”. Of course, the difference is not so significant, but many car owners note increased scratching and shedding of Mitsubishi ACX bodies from the USA.

Secondly, it would be useful to note the difference in the quality of the metal used for casting the body. Again, it's slightly worse in Illinois, but that's always the case. As auto industry professionals note, it all depends on the batch of the model. In any case, problems with the metal of the body do occur, and they should be kept in mind.

In other moments what Mitsubishi ACX from Japan and from the USA are quite good models one automaker. Naturally, there is no specific bias towards Russia in their production, but the cars produced at both plants can be used well on the roads of our country.

On this, perhaps, on today's topic the most important information has come to an end. We hope that the material presented above was useful to you and provided answers to your questions. Good luck on the roads!

Video review of Mitsubishi ACX:

Mitsubishi is resuming sales of the model after an almost two-year break. During this time, the model has gone through two: now it has an “X-face” in the spirit of the older Outlander model, modified bumpers and decor, and in the interior there is a new steering wheel and central tunnel cover (with soft linings), as well as improved sound insulation.

Two modifications with well-known power units began to be supplied to Russia. The first is equipped with a 1.6 engine (117 hp), a five-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive, while the second has a 2.0 engine (150 hp), a CVT and all-wheel drive. The previous “intermediate” version with a 1.8 engine, CVT and front-wheel drive will no longer exist. Prices start at 1.1 million rubles, with a choice of four configurations.

Equipment 1.6 2WD MT5 2.0 4WD CVT
Inform RUB 1,099,000 -
Invite RUB 1,138,990 -
Intense RUB 1,189,990 RUB 1,339,990
Instyle - RUB 1,479,990

The basic version of the Inform is quite simple: two airbags, ABS, air conditioning, power accessories, audio equipment and steel wheels. The Invite package is little better: it adds heated front seats, a CD player and a trunk curtain (yes, it’s not included in the base!).

Front-wheel drive cars in the Intense version have leather steering wheel, fog lights, roof rails and 16-inch alloy wheels. But all-wheel drive crossovers its own, more attractive Intense package: seven airbags, ESP, hill start assist and 17-inch wheels.

The top version of Instyle includes seven airbags, a leather interior, an electric driver's seat, climate control, Bluetooth, light and rain sensors, a rear view camera, a keyless entry system, buttons on the steering wheel, cruise control and LED running lights. But the modern media system Russian buyers not allowed.

Prices for larger Mitsubishi Outlander 2017 model year now they start at 1 million 499 thousand rubles, that is, there is no intersection with the returning model. But compared to localized classmates, ASX is very expensive: for example, Hyundai Creta now it costs from 800 thousand to 1 million 355 thousand rubles, and Renault Kaptur - from 879 thousand to 1 million 273 thousand rubles. However, the middle-aged ASX can attract buyers with the reliable image of the Mitsubishi brand and Japanese assembly.

The restart of sales will begin in the Far East: cars will arrive at local dealers in mid-August. And from mid-September ASX will be available in all other regions. Any expansion is important for the Russian division of Mitsubishi model range, because until now there were only four models: Outlander, Pajero, Pajero Sport and L200. In previous years, ASX found 20-25 thousand buyers in Russia annually, but now you can’t count on such figures.

Many car enthusiasts are interested in where certain cars are produced. For example, a man has a Pajero and he wonders where his brothers are made. In this article we will look at where are they produced individual models Mitsubishi.

Where is it collected? Mitsubishi I- Miev?

This is the first electric car of the Mitsubishi Motors concern. Not so long ago, the car appeared in Russia. At the moment, this model is assembled exclusively in its homeland - in Japan, at the Mitsushima plant in the city of Kurashiki.

Where is it collected? Mitsubishi Pajero Sport?

Legendary, sold in Russia, has a multinational history.

  • Since 1998, the car was produced exclusively in Japan.
  • Since 2004, components from the USA began to be imported to Russia, although production in Japan continued.
  • From 2008 to 2012, cars were imported from Thailand.
  • From 2013 to 2015 it was produced at a plant near Kaluga.

Like this interesting story this Japanese SUV.

Where is Mitsubishi Pajero assembled?

Pajero is the dream of millions of car enthusiasts around the world. One of the first SUVs that quickly became popular. In 2015, the model turned 25 years old, making it one of the oldest models of the concern. During this time, the model has undergone 5 updates. Mitsubishi Pajero assembled in Japan and this is good news for true connoisseurs of Japanese technology.

Where is it collected? Mitsubishi Outlander?

From 2012 to 2015, assembly was carried out in Russia, all at the same plant near Kaluga. The result is the following:

  • 2010 – 2012 – Outlanders were assembled in Russia from components from Japan;
  • Assembly after 2012 (until 2015) was carried out in Russia;

Russian assembly is subject to strict quality control. Currently there are quality issues Russian assembly there was none, although some motorists made comments towards the Kaluga plant.

Where is it collected? Mitsubishi ASX?

– one of the most popular models in Russia in terms of price/quality ratio. In addition to production in Japan, at the Nagoya plant in Okazaki, the car is produced in the United States at a plant in Illinois. It is difficult to determine which cars are more produced in Russia: American or Japanese. Some people believe that in American-built models there are fewer complaints about squeaking in the suspension.

Where is it collected? Mitsubishi Lancer?

It's no secret that this model is one of the best-selling in Russia. The main competitor, Toyota Corolla, is a purebred Japanese, which is assembled at a factory in Japan. They also collect on the same conveyor belt. The model is supplied to Russia with a small markup, because the direct competitor of the model is a serious obstacle at this price level.

Below is a table of countries of production of Mitsubishi models.

ACX 2017 and Mitsubishi ASX 2018

When you decide to buy a new Mitsubishi ACX, keep in mind that under its transformed appearance as a result of the third restyling, there are units known to fans of the popular brand from the 2010 ACX model. The design was adjusted in accordance with the new corporate style of the company. The main technical characteristics of the machine remained at the same level.

The evolution of the exterior has begun compact crossover for the benefit. The main changes affected:

  • outdoor optics;
  • radiator lining;
  • front and rear bumpers.

If earlier it was possible to blame the Mitsubishi ASX for unclear appearance, now the car looks decisive and energetic.

But less attention was paid to finishing the interior. The most significant difference from its predecessor is the new ACX multimedia system. As for the quality of finishing materials and the accuracy of fitting of parts, initially there were no special complaints about them. The dimensions of the Mitsubishi ACX are quite modest:

  • length: 4365 mm;
  • width: 1810 mm;
  • height: 1640 mm;
  • wheelbase: 2670 mm.

However, the ergonomics of the internal space of the ACX are at a decent level. The cabin can comfortably accommodate a driver and three, and if necessary, four passengers.

ASX powertrain selection

No matter how successful the restyling of the Mitsubishi ACX 2017 was, new design does not mean significant changes technical characteristics. On the Russian market, the crossover is offered with two options that have proven themselves gasoline engines.

Engine 4B10 with a displacement of 1.8 liters and a power of 140 hp. s., in present moment is not installed on cars sold in Russia through official dealerships.

Identified deficiencies

In addition to problems with engines, there are others that are typical for. The most common ones are listed below.

There are some other little things, but if the listed shortcomings don’t scare you, you can ignore them.

Not a single assembly

To the question of where the 2017 Mitsubishi ACX, officially sold on the Russian market, is assembled, there is only one answer - in Japan. A certain number of cars are assembled in the USA, but they come to our country through gray schemes. Should it be considered Japanese assembly, leading to an increase in the price of the crossover compared to its closest competitors, the advantage is big question.

You shouldn’t count on the car’s high cross-country ability. Having carried out an off-road test for the Mitsubishi ACX 2018, it is easy to verify that even when equipped with the system all-wheel drive, this model does not feel very confident off-road. Even in situations of average complexity, neither the 185 mm ground clearance nor the short overhangs can help. Overheating of the viscous clutch occurs after just 10 seconds of slipping. Those who like to travel outside the asphalt surface area will hardly like this behavior of the crossover. But if you buy vehicle for use within the city and trips to the country, you can turn a blind eye to poor off-road performance.

In short, having received an improved appearance, the Mitsubishi ASX could not completely get rid of the problems characteristic of budget cars of this class. At the same time, the prices set by sellers, in the opinion of many car owners, do not quite correspond to the capabilities of budget, at least in theory, equipment.
